About

TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last!
Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored."  Don't miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by MICHAEL GRANDAGE and choreographed by ROB ASHFORD, that Channel 4 New York calls “THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN!”

  • Very well done

by Harvey Pooka on 3/19/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

The the singing and dancing was very good. Especially liked the actual old photos in the background.

  • Very good play

by Toby Alther on 3/19/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

I felt the cast and crew performed a very good production of Evita. The play was entertaining and moved quickly throughout. I would love to see it again.

  • Loved it!

by Cflowers on 3/19/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the performance. The singing was awesome. I liked the big screen in the background showing the real pictures of Argentina and the Peron’s. I would highly recommend seeing it!

  • Very Disappointing

by A.V. on 3/19/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

The woman who played Evita was not very good. Her performance of Don't Cry for Me Argentina was very disappointing. It was a very poor job of casting that role, although everyone else in the cast was very good.

  • Evita

by kern on 3/18/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 2 out of 5

Did not really care for the show. The screen in the background seemed to hinder from what the performers were doing on stage. We left before it was over. Was very disappointed.

  • Fantastic production. Talented casting.

by Rick Myrick on 3/18/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Evita 7 times in different venues. Each time there was a different set design. Different choreography . However, the music od ALW and story of Ava Peron are timeless. I was excited to see that tickets prices were reasonable. There were so many young familes in attendance and groups of teenagers. I think this can be attributed to tickets prices.

  • Well staged

Not my favorite rendition if Evita, but well done by a talented cast.

  • Good but not Broadway good.

by Rich on 3/13/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 3 out of 5

Overall the show was ok, but not Broadway quality and NOT standing ovation great. I am not familiar with the songs from the show, other than the main song we hear over and over, but I was not impressed with the songs. The sound of many of the songs was often very shrill. I don't know if this was due to the audio system not being balanced well or the actual voices of the singers. The acoustics of the theater are usually very good, but this has happened at another show. Acting was a 3.5 to 4 on a scale of 1 to 5. Staging was very good with a score of 5. We loved the merging of the stage set with the video back drop.

Wonderful cast and great actors in a terrific venue.

  • POWERFUL!

by A. T. on 3/12/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

I do not have the words to express how fantastic this performance is! Voices so powerful they resonate within the heart and tug on your heart strings!!

  • Amazing!

by Bertie on 3/12/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone in the show is amazing, great voices. Evita is beautiful and she has a better voice. Liked the length of the show also, not long!

  • Fun afternoon

by LollyB on 3/12/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

Evita was a good experience. The singing and dancing were strong performances. We had a little trouble understanding all the words being sung, but overall we enjoyed it. It moved very quickly.

  • Evita was ok

by AJ on 3/12/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

I will caveat this review with I am not a fan of musicals. My wife asked for this for her birthday. Now on to my opinion. Other than a few pitchy moments the lead singer was good. One of the cast (Carmen) definitely thought quantity was better than quality regarding her voice though. I liked the mixture of pictures in the background with the cast. It really helped set the stage. Lance was best singer in the group hands down. Yael was a close second.

  • Broadway-Level Performance

by Joe on 3/12/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Evita on Broadway in 1980 with Patti LuPone as Evita. That's my gold standard. The touring company that I saw last Saturday at El Paso's Plaza Theatre was terrific. The lady who played Evita did a fantastic job as did the gentlemen who played Che (Narrator). The performance covered all scenes/songs and moved along quite efficiently. The accompanying orchestra and cast members were very good. I was very pleased overall and it was a time (2 hours 15 minutes) well spent.

  • Evita

    by J. on 2/2/19BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

The balance between music and voices was off and it was hard to hear/understand singing. Luckily, I know the soundtrack, but not everyone did. Performances were only okay. Not up to the usual standard of Birmingham Broadway.

  • Evita Bham

by Ron 10/4/24 BJCC concert Hall on 1/31/19BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

BJCC needs to fix the accustics. Music was too loud and drowned out the performers or their mics were not adjusted correctly. Drummer was " very enthusiastic"

  • Awesome performance !

The performance of Evita was excellent! The players deserved a standing ovation! Totally enjoyed the show.

  • Exceptional

by Roni on 1/25/19The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Evita is one of my favorite musicals that I’ve seen numerous times. This production company brought new life to the stage. The show was very well cast with extremely talented actors with amazing voices. The set along with the background projection pulled the audience into this classic story. Extremely well done!

  • So professional!

by Jeanne on 1/25/19The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this show was so well done. The music, the singing, the actors but most of all "the set." It was intriguing in that it was so simple. Most important was the backdrop screen that showed actual photographs of people and places that were an integral part of the story of Evita. So professional!

  • Pay attention to your seats

by EmJay on 1/25/19The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 3 out of 5

The show was good in content, however we had upper level seated with ended up having an obstructed view. The production uses a screen and from my seat I could only see part of the bottom half. I would have opted for closer seats if I didn’t think I’d see everything. The annoucation of the lyrics was also not good, however the second act seemed to be much better than the first in that respect. Aside from those two pieces the performers and their voices were amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed the production!
