    Bloody Good Show!

by Nerotrask on 6/11/11Studio Two, The Riffe Center (Catco production) - Columbus

Have attended two performances of Catco's "EDtM" and am going back for a third time next week! Want to see the show from every angle and, having sat in both Splatter Zones, I feel I've had sufficient gore flung at me (as if that were possible, *g*) and am looking forward to sitting out front and getting the "full-on" visual effect, as it were. There wasn't a weak link in the entire cast...the vocals were amazing. The set was very good and I loved how they utilised the performance space. While everyone gave a good performance, I'd single out Liam Cronin because "Ed", evil or not, stole nearly every scene he was in. Amazing, since he hardly had any lines, lol. The show, itself, isn't as clever as it was originally... "anatomical gross-out" humor seems to have replaced some of the earlier wittiness. But it's still good, silly fun and even theater-goers unfamiliar with the "Evil Dead" movies were laughing and having a good time. I plan to attend another, local production of "EDtM" but they will have to work very hard to top what Catco brought.

Good enough to wake the dead!

by paledaemon on 6/10/11Studio Two Riffe Center - Columbus

This was a delightfully cheesy, totally original riff on the classic B movie horror flick - perfectly tongue in cheek. The lyrics and tune to "What the fuck was that?" are still with me and I'm having a hard time staying out of graveyards and haunted cabins now....

    Evil Dead the Musical

by goddesslove on 6/7/11Studio Two Riffe Center - Columbus

What a blast! The show was great, the songs were cool, and it revisited the Evil Dead series/ Army of Darkness movies for us. The wise-cracking dead sister stole the show. Very interactive show, especially with the blood spurting everywhere!

    Not to be missed!

by Bexikitty on 6/3/11Studio Two Riffe Center - Columbus

We were sitting in the splatter zone, so we knew it was going to be good. They did not disappoint! I would say at times the recorded music was too loud and washed out the performers a bit. Other than that, we had a blast. Go and have fun!

    Evil Dead... ROCKED!!!

by Booble on 11/8/10The City Theatre - Detroit

I had a wonderful time seeing Evil Dead: The Musical. Being a Sam Raimi fan and knowing the trilogy ( maybe TOO much!) I got all the gags and jokes!! I would love to see it again and take my Hubby, who couldn't go to this showing. He's seen Army of Darkness WAY TOO MANY times and wouldv'e got a big kick out of this!. Two thumbs up!!!

    Evil Dead was Killer!

by thescotter on 11/6/10The City Theatre - Detroit

It was a great show! The blood was great, and the songs were hilarious! If it weren't for the obnoxious jerks behind us who were more into themselves than the actual show, I'd have given it 5 stars.

    Great Time!

by Boingo4U on 11/3/10The City Theatre - Detroit

My wife and I met a bunch of friends at the show to celebrate our anniversary. I like the fact that most seats were general admission so we could get our seats at different times but still all sit together. My only real complaints about the show are: there were times when I could not make out what was being said / sung due to crowd noise or the music. The Cast should wear wireless mics if possible and The sister in the cellar was difficult to see at times due to head shifting and her being so low. I cannot think of any way to fix this problem. They also ran out of black shirts and they still had 2 performances to go. All and all I tell everyone I know what a great time we had.

Who Doesn't Love Deadites Breaking Into Song?

by Jenninator21 on 11/2/10The City Theatre - Detroit

My boyfriend and I are HUGE fans of the "Evil Dead" movies, so when we saw that the musical was playing in Detroit, we had to go (of course)! It was even better than I had expected. Be warned, though, that the first few rows of the splatter seats got REALLY covered in fake blood! The show was hilarious - a great amalgamation of the first two movies, with elements of the third thrown in. We LOVED it, and I'd absolutely recommend that anyone who's a fan of the ED movies or the horror genre in general go see it!

    Awesome!

by SDawn04 on 11/2/10The City Theatre - Detroit

Very amusing and entertaining. I paid extra for Splatter Section tickets, but it was worth it to be closer to the stage and to get the "blood" soaked experience (if you're int he Splatter Section, remember to wear a white shirt!). Very funny; I couldn't stop laughing at parts. Overall, a great experience.

Evil Dead is our new Tradition!

by Julesredgirl on 11/1/10The City Theatre - Detroit

I saw it twice last year, and this year I had to go again. I brought even more people with me this time, and everyone had a blast! The Spatter zone seats are the best, if you really want to have a good time. Also, the cast was great. We were so excited to see the majority of the same cast this year. Especially Ash and Cheryl, cause they made the show last year. We hope they do this every year, cause my whole group of friends want to make this our tradition every year.

Laughed so hard I was crying

by BellaDemile on 11/1/10The City Theatre - Detroit

I'm not a big fan of musicals, but the songs were so funny!!! The acting was awesome, the humor was great. It's nice to have the entire audience genuinely laughing their butts off!!!! It really makes you feel good to laugh hard for so long. Ash's sister in the show was the best, she was such an awesome actor!!! The theater was small, too, which definitely made the whole thing better - no stress about getting a good seat, because they were all so close to the stage. I've really never thought I'd enjoy a musical, but gave this one a chance because I like the movies, and I definitely don't regret it!!! Okay, the downsides for me were that the costumes could've been a bit more interesting - Ash's could've been a bit closer to his in Evil Dead - and the second part wasn't as hilarious as the first, but still very funny!!!

Evil Dead The Musical was Bloody Good Fun!!!

by RedDragonFly on 10/31/10The City Theatre - Detroit

It was an awesome return to a local classic that hit the big movies. The musical brought the “campy” good time back to home. The songs were great, and I will be looking to get a copy of the songs. Anyone that has seen the movies will enjoy this show just as much. I drove 3 hours to meet up with my friends to go to the show, and it was all well worth it. I will be keeping an eye out for anything more they might do with the musical. They kept true to the characters, and the fun of the original story.

    The play was KILLER!

by CaptainTRex on 10/26/10The City Theatre - Detroit

We sat front row in blood splatter seats and had a heck of a time. Couldn't of gotten a better cast for the musical. Just awesome! Would totally pay to see again.

    Great Play!!

by Goodjob on 10/26/10The City Theatre - Detroit

I would definately recommend this. It was very funny and very well put together. My only complaint was the lady in front of us who thought it was funny to yell wooooo!!! all the time and try to talk to the people on stage while they were trying to do the show, though this is no fault of the presenters.
