Bloody Good Show!
by Nerotrask on 6/11/11Studio Two, The Riffe Center (Catco production) - ColumbusHave attended two performances of Catco's "EDtM" and am going back for a third time next week! Want to see the show from every angle and, having sat in both Splatter Zones, I feel I've had sufficient gore flung at me (as if that were possible, *g*) and am looking forward to sitting out front and getting the "full-on" visual effect, as it were. There wasn't a weak link in the entire cast...the vocals were amazing. The set was very good and I loved how they utilised the performance space. While everyone gave a good performance, I'd single out Liam Cronin because "Ed", evil or not, stole nearly every scene he was in. Amazing, since he hardly had any lines, lol. The show, itself, isn't as clever as it was originally... "anatomical gross-out" humor seems to have replaced some of the earlier wittiness. But it's still good, silly fun and even theater-goers unfamiliar with the "Evil Dead" movies were laughing and having a good time. I plan to attend another, local production of "EDtM" but they will have to work very hard to top what Catco brought.
