Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

Erykah's show exceeded my expectation. Loved the seats and Humphrey's Dinner.
This was my second time seeing Miss Badu, and this second time around, she was AMAZING!!! I LOVE this woman and her music and this event at the Warfield, I could tell she was giving it her best. She was giving off her good vibes to everybody who was present, and I was up on my feet the entire show! GREAT SHOW, GREAT WOMAN, GREAT MUSIC!!! PEACE&LOVE
Erykah Badu kept it real in the show my husband and I attended. The Humphrey's concert hall is intimate by design and the show seemed more like a private exchange of music and lyrics between good friends. Every seat was a great seat. We all laughed, we reminisced with every song, and were eager to let Erykah Badu's very genuine and amazing vibe seep in. There was nothing ordinary about this concert. She entered the stage in a robe and night cap and dared us to be uptight about. She took her time with every song - her new ones, the old ones we love, and other memorable songs from artists that defined our generation. She made light of some of her life's circumstances and even shared how she'd been moved by a documentary depicting the unyielding commitment of a unified people and how the power and the significance of their allegiance stirred her to create song. Erykah Badu took us on a journey and we were happy to take the ride. We definitely loved the show- So much so, we're going back next year and bringing friends!
She played everything I wanted !! I was stoked ... This was my 5th BADU show... and i was right up front and center, like a good lil devoted fan..... My arms hurt the next day from cheering.. no joke. great show ... opener usually dope as well... GO ! NO DOUBT I WILL WAKE UP EARLY TO GET TICKET THE NEXT TIME SHE IS IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!!!!
Beginning to end. . . every moment was great!!!!!!
I've seen Erykah Badu before but this was a great show, it's been a long time but she's BACK, and i'm lookinfg forward to more of her work.
This was the best concert I have ever been to. The venue was nice, good crowd, I would recommend
SMART SASSY & SEXXIIEEE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE'S GOING TO SAY OR DO, BUT WHAT SHE DOES IS SMOOTH AND WILD. THE AUDIENCE IS HER PLAYGROUND. PLEASE DON'T TELL PEOPLE HOW GREAT SHE IS ,BECAUSE I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET TICKETS NEXT TIME. A FAN FOREVER
Erykah Badu is a true artist. She came out and did her thing, I have been a fan for a long time but my friend knew not that much about her. My friend is now a fan! She mixed old songs with her songs and blended them great. You can tell she puts her all into her shows and her voice is so strong and pure! She sings and peforms ture to her artistic roots and hip hop. I can't wait to see her again!!
I have been a long time Erykah fan but this was the first time that I've seen her live. The music was great and her band was wonderful but I think I'll stick to just listening to her on vinyl or maybe checking her out only if she's opening for someone else.
she put on such a good show as always! and sung so many songs I hated to have it end.
This was my first time at Club Nokia and i was impressed with the venue, the up close and personal feel made the concert much more memorable. Badu is amazing a TRUE performer, her style is unlike any other.
The energy was great... The vocals were phenomenal... The vibe was great... The outfits were out of this world... Just a beautiful show... We partied and had a good time with Erykah Badu... Hands down awesome show... All hail Queen Erykah Badu... Anytime you in town or local... I will be there to see you... All the best
I give it to Erykah for such a great show, but this venue consist of people standing. She started too late in my opinion. Got bored of waiting and took off early. At least start on time next time.
This was my first time seeing Erykah Badu live and I truly enjoyed the experience. The Warfield is an outstanding venue with great site lines (my fiance and I were in the lower balcony). The event staff was helpful and classy, the bartenders were working hard and we felt like we got our money's worth. Will definitely be seeing Badu again and we hope to get back to the Warfield again soon.
I love the concert it was great. She also put on a great concert.
Ok so as a huge fan, (and wannabe aspiring musician...if this is what I have to compete with, I may have to hang it up lol), I consider Erykah to me my mentor, and a kindred spirit. I'm more amazed every time I hear something new, something old, etc. Her music is real, and her lyrics get more and more profound every time I catch something new in them. She gets me moving, singing, and THINKING. That's the kind of artist I like to listen to and study. In the past I used to hate going to concerts because of the crowds and the posers. I hated spending all that money for an overrated, so-so performance. I stopped going to concerts and stuck with a few club events for a more intimate feel. The Nokia is fast becoming one of my favorites because it's small, but not too small to get in. I also loved that the Nokia had real food. (I don't know if that's normal or if certain artists get a say in what's being served.) I usually get so busy, that I either have to choose between eating and sleeping, or eating and getting dressed for the day, or eating garbage fast food just to keep going. So the venue was right, and the atmosphere was waaaaay positive. Then Miss Erykah came out and did her thing!!! She gave a history lesson mixing old school, new school hiphop, jazz, funk, new wave, disco. You name it, she did it. Her showwomanship is AMAZING!!!!! She even did a little modern-interpretive dance. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. If money allows I will be seeing Mint Condition at the Nokia, and I'll be looking out for Miss Badu's next lesson in music and performance.
She always keeps it fresh. For me, her performances are like no one else's in the way she entertains and connects with her audience. You go for the music, and come away with an entire Badu experience.
Her performance was explosive and unforgettable. She started with her latest hit (larger then the government), went into her classic signature cuts, to an old school hip hip tribute that got everyone out of there seat. I seem her before but never a a head liner, next time she here I am there.
