About

Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

  • Badu was 1 of many

    by Blessed4d1 on 9/18/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show overall but it was very misleading to advertise it as an Erykah Badu concert when she only sang 3 songs. The Lon list of other artists were quite good though I wasn’t familiar with most of them. I’m glad I went.

  • An Evening To Remember

by Lauramari on 9/17/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Terrific and touching Concert tribute. Eryka Badu, Cory Henry, Robert Glasper and Norah Jones! They were all superb!

  • Not advertised properly

by Jae on 9/17/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

I bought these tickets expecting an actual Erykah Badu concert, which is how it was marketed. However, this was an event with multiple artists and Ms. Erykah only performed 2 songs. I feel like this should not have been marketed as if Erykah Badu was the primary performing artist…

It was a beautiful tribute honoring Shaun Martin and the impact that he made.

  • Awesome line up

by PabloJ on 9/17/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was well planned with an awesome line up. The pacing was great and there was no awkward downtime between sets. Each performer had 20 minutes or so and each payed homage to Shaun Martin and his influence. It was nice to see Erykah early in the lineup and not having to wait on her to show up. She is a natural performer and knows how to engage the audience. The Norah Jones/Robert Glasper duet was a neat treat.

  • Amazing Vibe! Amazing experience!

by BAHT CHA! on 7/25/24Legacy Arena at The BJCC - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

My first time seeing Badu Live. It was all it was cracked up to be and more. The Vibe in audience pre During and post was transformative! I felt good during and afterward. I feel so fortunate to be able to attend.

  • On and On, Again!

by Coryrynn on 7/17/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve heard Ms. Badu is a hit or a miss, but she sure did hit when I saw her! She mostly performed Mama’s Gun which is my favorite album of hers so she won’t get any complaints from me. Seats were reasonably priced and ai loved the show.

  • MAMA BADUUUUUU!!!

by Kandi B. on 1/23/24Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was everything I expected and more. She gave the performance only a Pisces could. And the touch of DC for the opening and closing shows how much attention she pays to her cities. It was such a special moment.

  • It’s a Vibe

It was a fantastic show! If felt very compelling and audience engagement. She did a variety of her songs and mixes. The stage production was mesmerizing!! Erykah voice has not change a bit.. would definitely go back to another Badu show

  • Awesome Concert

by KB on 11/24/23Desert Diamond Arena - GlendaleRating: 3 out of 5

Erykah Badu's was amazing but I could not see it. I had floor level seats and the person in front of me had big hair and moved side to side to make sure I couldn't see. It's a shame because I was 3 rows from the stage and couldn't see.

  • The MESMERIZING Ms. Badu

by Dana Dane on 11/12/23Little Caesars Arena - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I had first seen the EFFORTLESS Erykah live in concert on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 at the Freedom Hill venue in Sterling Heights. Great concert yet there were technical issues. I'd give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. But, during the 4th of July weekend at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena in 2023, Erykah ate it up and left not one crumb or morsel. This was a STELLAR 5 out of 5 for sure! I have been into Erykah's music and eccentric uniqueness since the end of '96 when she released The Color Purple inspired video for her first hit On and On. I knew then she was a RARE find in this fickle entertainment industry. Her presence was and still is needed. I've always loved her opening act Yaasin Bey aka Mos Def since the late 90s. He was very impressive. Unsurprising since he's a great MC aside from being a great actor. What made Erykah so MESMERIZING is her knack for going against norms and being her own unapologetic self. The music alongside her INCREDIBLE voice kept me engaged. The tribal rhythms left the audience in awe. The band was EXTRAORDINARY. It was a 2 hour set and worth EVERY last cent! I drove through a rainstorm and Ms. Badu TRULY gave her all! No technical issues! No complaints! I am already looking forward to her next tour!

  • Amazing

by Tash on 10/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Erykah had me on my feet from the time she came on stage until the end of her show. She was wonderful and sounded great. Let me not forget that Most Def was great too. I would definitely buy tickets to see Erykah again. It was definitely a vibe.

  • Amazing Show Amazing Environment

    by V. T. on 9/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Went to the show in Philadelphia, she interacted well with the crowd and everyone knew all the lyrics.

  • A whole mother on stage with her ass cheeks hanging out

by True on 8/23/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Well....didn't get to see all of Yasiin Bey's performance but what I caught left much to be desired. Badu is Badu, she always delivers. Band was playing waaaay too long before she came out though and I don't think she did anything from the first New Amerykah album.

  • 😍😍😍😍

  • Lit Concert

by LANA on 8/11/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Erykah is such a real down to heart, funny afrocentric, confident and talented artist. I had an absolutely AMAZING time! What fun! and Yasin Bey was quite entertaining as well. I thoroughly enjoyed him. I can't think of the name opening act, but they were fun too. This was my very first E.B. concert, and she didn't disappoint not one bit.
