About

Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

I just love the artist Erykah Badu. The band was on point and her backup singers are very talented each and every one of them. I'd advise anyone who loves her music to go see her live

  • Late performance

by Tan on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The show was great except that it didn’t start until 10:00 on a Sunday night. In which was a disappointment because I love Erykah Badu music but didn't appreciate her thinking it’s ok for having us seating and waiting for her that long.

  • That Girl can Sang!!

by Nina on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Erykah puts on a really good show! Her vocals are amazing but I did NOT appreciate her starting 1 hour and 45 minutes late. No preshow entertainment, just sitting and waiting. She needs to realize who her fan base is. We are now an older, mature crowd and timeliness is important. Due to this I will not attend another one of her shows.

  • Great show late late start

by Spidel on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great music excellent performance. Performed all the songs from my favorite Badu album. That being said there is no excuse for a 8pm show to start at 9:40.

  • Outrageous!

by Hunnicutt on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The facility was great and the food was good and the parking was nice but the artist to come on stage an hour and 45 minutes late and to only perform for one hour and 15 minutes, and then she felt it was ok not to perform her most popular song ever was simply outrageous for the price of the tickets NEVER AGAIN!!!

  • Great experience

by Kima on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was nice and clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. Parking was great as well. I wish the concert hadn’t taken so long to start but Erykah was amazing.

  • Late

by Nikki on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

First I love and adore Erykah Badu but she was over 2 hours late to the concert, before she got on stage the room in the auditorium got hot as if the air was off, the food was not impressive for such a nice intimate venue but overall I would return but will eat a meal before I get there.

  • Disrespectful

by Spring on 11/27/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

First time seeing her live, and although I am a fan, I was very disappointed. The show started more than two hours late with no excuse or apology. I felt this was very disrespectful and plain rude.

  • Disrespectfully Late

by MLL on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Was the performance worth the wait? Yes. But the fact that I ask the question reflects my interpretation of the extreme disrespect so many artists have for their audiences, in the continuing trend of extremely late starts.

  • She's great but was later than ever

by Eb on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

For me, Erykah Badu is a Legend. An Icon in multiple areas. A next level and beyond artists. So of course she, her background vocalists (Durand Bernar is an ALL time favorite) and band were phenomenal! Then to see the set up was ready when walked in. We were ready. HOWEVER, the band didn't come out until around 9:40 , with her not coming out until 10 PM. The doors opened at 6:30 PM. We walked in between 7:30 and 7:45. The show was scheduled to start at 8 PM. She's ALWAYS late but I was hopeful only to be let down. This is the latest she's been. I wish we could be partially credited. I definitely won't be paying to see her again anytime soon. Even if she puts out new music (which was scheduled but didn't happen), I'll have to REALLY think about it. So just consider this a heads up.

  • Don’t waste your money

by BOA on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Started an hour 1/2 late @ 9:30. Over before 11:00

  • Two Hours Late!

by Disgruntle fan on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

The show was okay. I was annoyed we had to wait for two hours with no opening act!

  • Horrible! Waste of money and time.

by Alan on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Horrible! The show was supposed to start at 8:00 and at 9:30 it still had not started so we left. Ridiculous!!!

  • Next Level

by ED on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Transcendent night of the most iconic album by Erykah Badu. This was worth every single penny.

  • Great, but late!

by Shea on 11/26/25Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Erykah had a great performance. BUT she was super late! It started 2 hours late! I ended up leaving after an hour and 20 minutes into the show because I was tired. I feel like if the artist isn’t going to come on for at least 45 mins - an hour after the show starts, they need to have a headliner. Having a DJ isn’t enough to keep the crowd going. It look so long to start, that some of the songs were being replayed.

Although, Ms. Badu was late arriving on stage on Sunday November 23rd, 2025. The performance going forward was simply OUTSTANDING. The CobbEnergy Center, it's parking attendants security, ticket scanners, ushers, concessions, bars and rest rooms. Everything was 💯🔥. Way to handle a SOLD OUT event such as Ms. BADU. Keep up the Good work 👍🏾 CobbEnergy. Keep sitting the BAR

I greatly enjoyed Erykah’s concert. Her voice is so beautiful and angelic. The band and backup singers are fire! We had floor seats which were a little tight and cozy.
