Austin, Texas...Eric Johnson has been traveling on a prolific odyssey over the course of more than four decades. Along the way, his creations have encompassed repertoire that cross pollinate genres which include rock, blues, jazz, fusion, soul, folk, new-age, classical and even country. Inevitably, E.J. says it best in sharing, "It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day", he explains, "If it doesn't have that it gets boring for me. The most important thing for me is to grow musically and make a more expansive and meaningful artistic statement with every new project".
During the pandemic, the Grammy-winning guitarist, vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist released weekly donation-based "Mini Guitar Lessons" benefiting Food Banks across the country and worked in the studio on previously un-released tracks and new recordings. These tracks resulted in the release of 2 new albums entitled "The Book Of Making" and "Yesterday Meets Today" in July of 2022 on Blue Élan Records. The purchase of both albums includes the keys to a third album, "Takeouts" which includes unreleased and alternate recordings of songs available as an exclusive download.
Throughout his career, Johnson has approached music as a healing force, a way to enhance the listener's consciousness, and conjure joy and inspiration. More than a year into the Pandemic , and because of the Pandemic, he reflects that this approach has become reinforced and more enhanced.
The 2023 Treasure Tour will feature some of his previously unreleased gems, some older classics and some new soon-to-be favorites.
Seeing Eric back at The House of Blues was so great! Eric was his usual "FANTASTIC"self, and The House of Blues has to be one of the greatest concert venues in North Texas. It was easy in/easy out. The staff was helpful, friendly and very accommodating. I look forward to being back at The House of Blues for another artists' concert.
Eric Johnson is one of the greats of all time. And I think Ticketmaster is (really) arrogant for titling this email “What Did You (really) Think of Eric Johnson?” I (really) think he was a Grammy winner when Ticketmaster was a fledgling, 16 year old company, and I’d (really) recommend that Ticketmaster be more respectful. (Really) appreciate your attention to this matter.
I have now been to 3 shows at Ludlow Garage. Twice, we had dinner there. Parking is convenient, tickets are reasonable, the food is good and the shows were great. I would recommend going.
Sounds = Excellent Venue = Excellent Artist = Fantastic Prices = A lot better than big arena show. No complaints Crowd = Into it Topping it all off, meeting Eric Johnson before the show outside.
It was great to hear Eric’s new songs and several of my favorites from one the best guitar legends. Will definitely see him again when he comes back to the Cinci area.

We’ve seen Eric Johnson several times over the years and always enjoy his style of electric guitar. His acoustic set this time at Ludlow Garage was very special. Loved it! Hoping to hear more of that in the coming years. EJ joked about “going hillbilly” as he ages. That’s OK with us here in Cincinnati… home of the former King Records and WLW featuring artists and recordings of that genre back in the 1940’s. Keep it going!
What a great talent! Eric is an amazing talent. His band also is an amazing talent. We had 7th row and was a great venue. The sound was good and not too loud , which made it very enjoyable. Venue was great.
Great show. Always like going to the house of blues. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the show started an hour late. They tried to tell us ticketmaster/ live nation made a mistake with the concert time. However I have been to over 5 concerts this year and all of them have started at the time that was published on ticketmaster when I bought the tickets. If the time was wrong, why wasn't it changed months ago? And for no one to tell Eric Johnson what was going on if he didn't know is crazy. I would have apologized to my fans about the confusion whether or not it was his fault.
Got in and sat down almost immediately. The sound was fantastic and the set was great!
I saw Eric Johnson back in the 80’s. It’s now 40 years later and he is 10 times better now. Just an amazing guitar player. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and the whole band. Seeing this group perform ranks among the very best concerts I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of concerts. Highly recommend it.

Eric Johnson is clearly among the greatest guitar players on the planet. He delivered a fantastic performance. First, starting off with an acoustic set and after a break went all out on the electrical. It was a great performance. His virtuosity is just outstanding. He's a master on the guitar and he drove the crowd to standing ovations. Overall, a concert to remember.
This show was amazing. Eric Johnson is the master. He opened with a beautiful acoustic set. Followed by all of my favorite electric driving songs. I left completely satisfied.
My wife and I enjoyed the live. I am his fan for 30 years and my first time his live performance. Truly the best guitarist in the world.
The beauty of Eric’s playing is undeniable. Listening to him alone simply puts a smile on your face. Add the brilliance of a tight four-piece ensemble and you have nothing less than magic happening. The opening acoustic set was both intimate and joyful. And the second set was classic Eric. Bravo maestro! Bravo!
Amazing show. EJ never ever disappoints. Ever ! Class and professional. Ticketmaster: enough with the smartphone only-must be logged in to display your tickets fiasco. You need to come up with a better method and at least allow printing or screen shots, or something. I've seen people standing there (including myself) fumbling trying to get their phone to connect and cooperate at that exact moment of entry. You are TM, figure it out. Fillmore what's with the blasting AC onto everyone's heads ?? Ever heard of vent diffusers ? Still a great venue though. Clean and nice people working there.
5 stars for EJ but 3 for venue. The folding chairs were crammed in so tightly that it was impossible to move or get comfortable, had the knees of person behind me in my back and wasn’t their fault. Stood at bar for second set and that was vastly preferable. Sound was good and venue otherwise fine, but the seating was awful.
Even if you didn't know Eric Johnson, or his music, there is no way that the show would not completely blow your mind. To musicians, Eric is something of a living legend, and rightfully so. His musicianship, songwriting, singing, and everything else is well above most people on earth. His band was ridiculously tight and everybody is really on top of their game. It was nice to see Roscoe Beck playing bass, that guy is a beast. Out of about 20 or so concerts I've been to In 2023, this one is absolutely first. It's hard to believe that I've seen Eric four times now and he just seems like his level of playing went through the roof. I thought I would be bored with an acoustic set in the beginning, but it was actually a nice way to get into the show and ramp things up, as well as build the event in stages and allow the musicians yo warm up to the crowd. It was actually very smartly done and definitely helped the zenith at the end of the show become like a beautiful armageddon of Eric Johnson goodness.
Excellent show! Tone was on point, sound was perfectly clear, great showmanship! Would 100% recommend, and would definitely go to another one of his concerts again!
