Winters can still shake it down. Eric B n the Animals was awsome. Very glad we went. Thanks for coming to San Diego ‼️
I saw Eric Burdon and the Animals in the 70’s and was glad to see them again still touring. While the voice is not quite up to his voice of yesteryear, it was great hearing and singing all his hits once again. Nostalgia fans will want to see him if and when he comes to their city. A can’t miss nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Edgar Winter was the surprise of the evening. Was he on the program from the start? He played/sang his heart out. Eric did too. It was very nostalgic. Love the outside venue, but can you get those seats any closer?
Eric is still rocking it out at 77 years of age!! Played most of his hits.. Band was all young guys so not really the “Animals” but they were very talented musicians!!
What a privilege it was to see Eric Burdon and hear these once songs again. Band was tight and Eric's voice was as soulful as ever.
Eric still rocks, place was great to see a show. Played all he hits and then some. Band is solid with horns. definitely see again
Great concert. Even though the Animals weren't the originals they definitely were superlative professional musicians and interacted well with Mr. Burdon. I'd seen them many years ago and was impressed once again. The Yardbirds opened and were equally fabulous. Very complementary musicians. Loved being able to see these groups again, after so many years.
Great venue. Eric Burdon and the Animals always put on a great show. The Yardbirds were awesome would definitely go see them again.
I thought Eric burden and the animals and the yardbirds were good but was not what i thought they were going to be
The performance of the Yardbirds seemed like two elder priests and their alter boys. The guitarist Johnny A was great but the band sounded like a good cover band, they did play all the hits. Eric Burton still has his voice and opening with "Spill the Wine" was a great choice . The "so called Animals" were only fair. The venue needs to do something about welcoming guests as the line to get into the venue was about three blocks long. Had the weather been bad the entrance would have been unbearable. The venue itself was good although they should have a policy about cell phone picture taking that doesn't obscure the stage from other guests. All in all an average show.
Eric Burdon was unbelievable at 77 years old. He still looks great. I would definitely go see him again. The venue was comfortable. The only problem, and this is any concert hall you go to, is when people stand up in front of you, you cannot see a thing. There should be a standing area where people can dance or stand.
Eric Burdon put on a fabulous performance. Worth the price of admission. In addition to many of his hits he performed a haunting rendition of Leadbelly's In The Pines! The disappointing aspect was the opening act "The Yardbirds". They were just a cover band. Advertisements recently showed Jeff Beck and Keith Rolf as part of the touring band but neither were there.
I was delighted to get tickets to the Yardbirds and Eric Burdon & the Animals. There had been dozens of hit records back in the day. I was prepared for the fact that most of the original musicians have moved on or passed on - if they just play the music, I'd be in heaven. But Lynn Auditorium is like a big tin can and the bands that play there rarely adjust their audio to make the sound pleasant. The Yardbirds came close to the mark. Johnny A is a real talent. I couldn't make out the words when they sang and I couldn't make out the words when they spoke between numbers. When Eric Burdon came on, the situation got worse because his voice is gravelly and ragged. Pumping up the volume rarely helps. I was left with the overwhelming feeling that the great Eric Burdon really needs to retire.
Went not expecting much from the Yardbirds portion of the show...they were incredible. Closed with Dazed and Confused...awesome. Eric Burdon and the Animals were the main attraction and why we were there. I had watched some youtube videos before the show and it didn't sound like or look like it was going to be very good, but hey it's the Animals...I'm going. Well let me tell you. Don't put to much faith in you tube videos that are shot on a cell phone. Eric wasn't able to hit all the notes but he hit most and put on a very good show. I would go again in a heartbeat. Fantastic!!!
Yardbirds were fantastic. Eric Burdons voice barely changed at age 77 he was still rocking
Eric Burton did a great job of bringing back great memories and creating new ones
I was looking forward to this concert for months, but this was absolutely the worst '60's group concert I have ever attended. The Yardbirds and Burton showed up 45 minutes late, and it was obvious they didn't bother to set up their instruments in advance. Apparently their voices are shot, so the amps were turned up to eardrum blasting levels. The Lynn Auditorium has the worse acoustics of any venue I have attended (and I have been to a lot!), the place was filthy and the staff rude. As a final insult, several cars in the parking lot were broken into during the concert ("Lynn, Lynn the city of sin..."), including mine and I had to take an Uber home. The perfect ending to an awful concert-save your money.
Vegas show Nov. 24 , 2017 .. Only 3 songs from the animals and completely changed not like the original ! Bunch of other songs from other artists , some you never heard of .. Weak at best .. Eric Burdon I think believes everyone just came to see him .. No other original band members .. Paid 200 for two tickets , better music in the lounge at Golden Nugget .. See quite a few shows in Vegas as I live here .. This definately one of the worst ..
We've seen this show several times and in several venues. They're always great, but this was one of the best. The energy, the music, the interaction with the crowd, it was all great. We will continue to see every show he puts on in Vegas, and we especially like the Golden Nugget Showroom -- not a bad seat in the house and intimate. We love it there.
Drove across state, bought a hotel room only to have concert cancelled 3 hours before show time with only explanation being "unforeseen circumstances." After doing some research I see that Eric seems to cancel a lot of shows. So I'm out several hundred dollars for hotel with no explanation. Buyer beware.
