ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Music is Eternal

by surgeonboi on 7/17/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Forgot how great they were I mean ARE- they are older and due to that the production was a bit more subdued then 1992 at the Beacon but still was awesome and the songs will live FOREVER

  • Good show but unfortunate sound setup

    by Lucio18 on 7/16/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The sound at my seat (upper balcony) made it impossible to understand what the singer was saying when he was speaking. When he was singing it was better/clearer. I don't know if this is a fault of the venue or people with the band who set up the sound for the event but I would hesitate to see another show here because of this issue. Also, the line for beer/drinks was extremely long at the upper level. There should be more people working before the show starts to serve people. Again, not an issue for Erasure but an issue for the venue. I'm glad I went to the event but I would have enjoyed it much more if I could understand what was being said (I am not hard of hearing and have no trouble at other shows/venues hearing the same sort of thing) since it appeared that the singer was being quite interactive with the audience and funny.

  • Erasure's World Be Gone Tour

    by Richard256 on 7/16/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Absolutely terrific! Andy Bell's voice is as magnificent as ever. There wasn't a single empty seat. People dancing in the aisles and singing along. The light show was really cool too. Erasure never disappoints. I first saw them in the early 1990's at The Beacon, so this was like a trip down memory lane.

  • Sensational concert

No group has brought joy to my life like Erasure. I've been following them for over 20 years. And their music and concerts never disappoint. I hung around the stage door, and met Andy, but was too tongue-tied to tell him this.
