ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Guilty!

    by Tchado1 on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show with lots of the older songs mixed in with songs from the new album. I made a point not to listen to my collection of Erasure songs before and was guilty and amazed at how many I was able to sing along with.

Had the best time of my life, the venue, the act, the crowd. Put them all together for an unbelievable experience. My expectations were met beyond what I would have thought was just a good time.

  • Erasure was fantastic/sound not so good

by Scootampa on 9/2/11The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

I thought the Ritz was overall a great venue, terrific bars and room to enjoy the stage from anywhere in the theater. However, the sound during Andy Bells's performance was spotty. When he spoke the words were so distorted many couldn't tell what he was saying. This changed somewhat when he sang, but also felt the back up singers were under miked. I'm not sure if the sound was Erasure's choice, or if they were limited to what was available at the venue.

  • FANTASTIC!!

by MRPG on 9/2/11The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome concert! They played a good mix of their new and greatest hits. Just as exhillirating to watch as they always have been. They look and sound great as ever, and we didn't stop moving & singing until it was over.

The band had lots of energy and looked great. They sounded as good as ever and played mostly their standard hits while including two new songs that continue in their style. the venue was small and with the tight crowd the energy was great.

  • Erasure - Still AMAZING

    by gcurry117 on 9/2/11The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Erasure after listening to their music for over 20 years...and the were absolutely out of this world. Vince never missed a beat or a note, and Andy look supurb moving effortlessly across the stage, while singing all the old favorites and many new songs, too. I cannot WAIT for them to come back.

I have seen Erasure a few times but this was by far the best show yet! The set was amazing and they played their hits and a few songs from their new album that were great. We danced and sang the entire show. It was electric....

  • Erasure was awesome!

    by bpet67 on 9/2/11The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Erasure played the Ritz in Ybor City (Tampa) Wednesday night 8/31 and they were incredible. Andy Bell has not changed since the 80's, his voice as rich as it was over 20 years ago. He was very appreciative of the audience and was visually excited that they were being so well received by the crowd. Their new material was just as good as their classics. Go see them if you have the chance, it will be worth it!
