ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Erasure was fun - Venue was meh!

    by ShowandConcertFanatic on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Erasure was fun as usual. Andy Bell still has an amazing voice along with his back up singers. I enjoyed seeing them. However, the venue at Terminal 5 was horrible! I am not a fan of seeing a show for almost 2 hours to stand the entire time STRUGGLING to see the live show. There are flat screen TV's around the club-like atmosphere. It was hot as hell with all the people! I refused to be on the first floor where you would feel like a human sardine.

  • Erasure better than ever before!

Once again, Andy and Vince truly amazed me...so much fun! Dancing, singing, couldn't have had a better time! Please don't stay away so long again and come back to New York soon. Can't get enough of Erasure!

  • Erasure - absolutely brilliant!!

    by Dyermaker5 on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Erasure sounded fantastic. Andy Bell has such an amazing vocal range. The duo really played to the crowd and performed just the right mix of their classics and their new songs. The crowd was great and it was just one big 80s dance party! They finished with Chains of Love and A Little Respect. But the encore of Oh L'amour was bloody fantastic!

  • What a voice

    by 80sFanatico on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show. Whats best is that Andy Bell's can still sing every note. Unlike some others that use the memory of our youth to cheat us of the price of admission. Hope they come back next year!

  • Erasure never disappoints...

    by RodneyG on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Erasure always proeform a great show. Andy Bell looks amazing and so does Vince Clarke. The concert is, as always, a mix of new and old timers. They sand about 5 or 6 numbers from the new album and all the songs sounded very modern, dance and full of rich sound and bass. Very exciting to hear them in advance. Can't wait for the new album.

  • Erasure - AMAZING!

    by SStephens on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I wish I had bought tickets to the first night too! Blown away how great the show was. I hope they come back soon. Terminal 5 has great sound but it's impossible to see anything there. (I had to knock off a star because of the venue).

  • Great band; terrible venue

    by MattTheGreat on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Erasure: In 2011, they sound exactly as they did in 1989. And, they make the effort to put on a show. All the panache in staging, backup, and showmanship you'd need from a pop outfit. They know the hits pay the bills, too: fair balance of hits and new material. Terminal 5: It really has to be one of our worst live show venues. Its large flat floor means you have to be close to feel a part of the show, and that their capacity includes a sort of foyer and upstairs lounge means that unless you're in the sweet spot of the floor or the upstairs VIP overhang, even a favorite artist becomes a mediocre concert.

  • Erasure Still has it

    by Buttas44 on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Vince Clark can still tear it up. Sounded just like the recordings.

  • Erasure - Still amazing after all these years!

    by pkpisces on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

New songs, old songs, greatest hits....what more could you ask for! They still sounded like they did 20 years ago - though Andy Bell has toned down his wardrobe from former years (it was missed!!). Would recommend to anyone who was an 80's alternative music lover!

  • Erasure! Fantastic...as always :-)

    by TrishaK29 on 9/16/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Opening act, Frankmusik, got the house rockin'! Erasure's performance was fabulous. Andy's STILL got it! A great showman; good mix of new and (mostly) old kept the crowd movin' and singing along.

  • Erasure full of energy!

Great talent and an awesome show. The whole place was in a grove together. Haven't seen Erasure since they played at broklyn park pool...and that was unbelievable. Two amazing men with a strong message.
