ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Erasure put on a great show!

by KJConner on 9/22/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Andy Bell can still belt it out, and seems to really play well to the audience in a smaller venue. Erasure went 90 minutes straight, hit all of the hits and played some really upbeat new material. My only complaint is minor, and has more to do with the venue. The speakers were right in the audience, and my ears didn't stop ringing for 2 days. Not Erasure's fault, and I will go see them again whenever they're in the area.

  • Fantastic performance by Erasure!

    by lh77 on 9/22/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Have always wanted to see Erasure but never managed to before and I think Andy Bell's voice is better in real life than on recordings! Loved the whole set, the new tunes were pretty dancy and catchy and the old were as good as they've ever been. The Vogue theatre stage is pretty small but it made for an intimate atmosphere and they used the stage as well as they could. Would definitely see them again if I ever get the chance!

Just saw the boys in Indianapolis and they were fabulous! Andy can still belt out the tunes, and Vince as always was solid gold!! Danced my feet off. All the favourite songs were there, plus a few new ones!! Pure entertainment.....if you loved Erasure in the 80's you'll love this gig!!

  • Erasure: Tomorrow's World Tour

    by JVB1986 on 9/22/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Stage presentation was awesome, lots of spangle on Vince Clark and the ladies. Awesome dress up on Andy Bell, especially the trojan headgear!! Spangly!! Gargoyals hid there equipment, and the flashing light on the back up singers microphone stands were great. Music was great and thumped to the beats of the voice of Andy, great job Vince

  • Absolutely amazing to finally see Erasure!

by medboyIL on 9/22/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent performances by FrankMusik and Erasure! I've followed Erasure since the mid-90s and own nearly every album and every single and most videos. This was sheer amazement for me to be able to see one of my very favorite bands in concert finally after all these years. They performed a mixture of new music from their just-released album and of course their awesome older favorites--Oh l'Amour, Chains of Love, Stop, A Little Respect, Always, etc.

  • Awesome time!

This concert was a blast! Had the whole house jumpin and singing along. If you were an Erasure fan back in the day, you will NOT be dissappointed.

  • A Dream Come True

    by Phantomlady on 9/21/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

To see Erasure in concert was a dream of mine for many years-I will never forget this concert for as long as I live! The smaller stage as well as the fact that I was in the third row gave an intimate feeling to the concert. And Andy twiring around the stage with effortless grace, as well as his beautiful vocals, assured me that my dream was coming true. Vince and Andy together could not have been a better pair. Their music evokes emotion, and this concert made me feel as if they were my best friends. :) Thank you Erasure for an amazing show! You will always have a place in my heart.

  • Erasure was amazing!!!

    by Emlafem on 9/19/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

OMG, what a great show!!! While I am a huge 80's fan, I had never seen Erasure live before, and now I question "why???" The good news, it isn't too late...run, drive, fly to your next Andy and Vince show because they still got it!!! They play all the classics from "A Little Respect" to "Always" and ended with "Oh L'Amour" Sure, you have to sit through the new stuff, but totally worth it! Love you Andy!!!

  • Erasure At Top Of Their Game!

    by Bigmanlot on 9/18/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The Erasure show on Tuesday nite(Sept. 13) was absolutely fantastic!! They sounded great and the crowd was electric throughout the entire show. Andy Bell's voice was as strong as ever and sounded so good and precise. Vince Clark did his usual great job and had the place jumping with great music. Erasure did not disappoint with a great setlist. A good mix of the unforgettable classics and some great sounding new stuff off the upcoming album, which will not disappoint. A great-great show!!

  • A fun time with an old favorite

    by dodaddy on 9/17/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, it was a great time. Andy Bell and Vince Clarke have aged but well. He still has a great voice although we couldn't really understand what he was saying when he was talking. Maybe the speakers were too loud? Erasure sang most of the classics although they could have sang more. There were a few new songs that we didn't know well. Like their more recent tours in the last 10+ years, they have been in smaller venues so the stage is small compared to stadiums. Enough for Andy, Vince and 2 backup singers. Nothing really fancy like in the old days. The doors open at 7PM. The opening act, Frankmusik went on at 8PM and Erasure at 9PM. They played for about 90 - 100 minutes including encore. I read some bad reviews of Frankmusik but we thought they were pretty decent. If you like Erasure, I can't see how you would have a bad time. As usual, when the classics came on, people went nuts. The only negative, if any was that we wished he interacted with the crowd a little more.

It was AWESOME. Being a fan of Erasure back in the 80's, this was the first concert of theirs I've seen. Would I go again? YES!

    by steve1234abcd on 9/17/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It was great (as always) to see them in concert. These are just my FAVORITE songs. The voices are as good as ever. AND the lighting was very dramatic. I should have gone both nights. Now I miss them and may have to follow the tour to another city!

  • Andy Bell & Erasure at their BEST

    by Greg747 on 9/17/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Andy Bell's voice is better than ever, he hit notes that people half his age cannot! They played their hits, awesome, and some from the new album which I CAN'T wait to get my hands on!!! If there is a Gay heaven, we witnessed at this concert...also amazed at the diversity of the crowd of well over a thousand people...fantastic mix of ages, sexes, people from all over the world...very New York!!!
