ERASURE IN CONCERT:
Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."
"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."
"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

Great show! They played a lot of the oldies, but didn't skimp on the new songs either. Very good!
my best show ever!!! thanks Andy and Vince for this wonderful show!!
Erasure was just totally awesome ! Andy & vincet rocked the stage! Wish they would have stayed longer but time is money! Id go see them again - wish they would have gone to San Antonio, Tx as well! Cheers Hank - number one fan!
Exactly what I had hoped for! I waited over 20 years to see this show and wasn't a slight bit disappointed! Erasure was FANtastic!!!
What a great concert. This was my second time (and my partners 4th) seeing Erasure, but this time we had the opportunity to do a meet and greet with Vince and Andy before the concert. Even though he's a man of few words, I personally think Vince is a genius, while Andy's voice and lyrics are still a thing of beauty in their own right! I absolutely love them both and want to thank them for the years of music and entertainment they have provided and let them both know that they have made "the world a little better" - at least my world - and I wouldn't have it any other way! Of course, most of the songs played were well known, except those from their new album, and all I have to say about that is - I can't wait for the new album! We thoroughly enjoyed the show and are "waiting for the day" when we get to go to yet another Erasure concert! Peace & Love!
This was my 3rd Erasure show in 4 nites. Lost my voice, but was sooooo worth it! Venue is very small compared to the shows in Chicago and Milwaukee, but was still pretty awesome.
The last time I saw Erasure was in the late 80's at the Fox in STL. It was the only concert I had ever attended that I didn't mind standing up and dancing the entire night. So this one had much to live up to in a much smaller venue. AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! From the stage props to lighting to sound system to performances, everything was spectacular. Andy Bell sounds just as good as he did over 20 years ago and I would highly recommend this show to everyone. A must see.
Show was awesome. I guess they could not fit all of the lights and such into the venue but what they did have ROCKED! Would have been cool to hear a Yaz track during the encore for kicks but everything was stellar!
If you ever get a chance to see Erasure live, DO IT! The show at the Pageant Theatre was excellent. Great accoustics, great audience and not a bad seat in the house. But you didn't need a seat because Erasure had you up and on your feet through the entire show. The setlist was full of their classic tunes such as Chains of Love, Ship of Fools, Blue Savanah, Always as well as their later tunes like Breathe and their latest hit "When I Start (To Break It All Down) from their upcoming new release, Tomorrow's World on sale October 4, 2011 for the album and September 27, 2011 for the new single. There is still a chance to see them on tour until October 4th. So don't miss it!
Is there really a need to review this concert? It's Erasure. They were AMAZING! I loved them. Loved the venue. Loved the mix of new and old songs. Andy looked and sounded beautiful. Vince was... well... busy being Vince behind the gargoyle. I will NEVER forget this concert as long as I live. I love you, ANDY! You inspire me and so many worldwide. Thank you!
after an absence from st louis for 22 years ERASURE delivered with a flair that is typically them. The stage was set for a dramatic entrance, which evolved into a night of hits and a couple of powerful new songs. Andy Bell prances about the stage in high camp style, as Vince Clark stands almost stoic at his keyboard. True ERASURE style. The set, backdrop and lights added to what can be called a complete positive vibe which filled the audience. Makes you remember the nights you danced away in the late 80's and early 90's. They truly delivered and lifted the audience up!
This was the best band in the world performing in a GREAT venue. The ONLY complaint I have (and it is small) is the sound system. I'm a bit of an audiophile and the distortion and volume was terrible. If the mixer would ease back about 10% across the board, things would be much better. The singers (all three) were often distorted... the bass was very muddy and in general almost none of the sound was crisp with the exception of the vocals (when they weren't loud)
Talk about a high-energy, feel good night of fun! This 44 year old fan found his inner 19 year old and danced and sang like it was 1986. Andy was amazing, his vocals were spot on and his energy was contagious ! Absolutely one of the best concerts I've been to.
I am only a marginal fan. The concert was for my wife's Bday. I was amazed at how great the sounded live. Tons of energy, and very entertaining.
Erasure was outstanding! Everyone at the event was dancing and signing. They created such a fun energy and played their asses off! Worth the money. But I have a love/hate for the pageant. They have several places for standing up and dancing. But the pageant allowed people to stand up in the isles right in front of people! I was with someone who couldn't stand due to an injury and it hindered her ability to see. I think they should require standers to do so in the designated places since people can't seem to be courteous on their own. But, I do love the intimacy of the venue. If people would be courteous, there would be no bad seats in the pageant. Erasure, we love you!!!!!!!!!
So much fun...Can't believe they keep up the energy all over the world (and midwest) One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Frankmusic is great, too.
being english and having grown up listening to Erasure, this was the first time i have seen them live. i wasnt sure what to expect due to longevity of the band. however the show totally rocked out and i fell in love with them all over again. the energy and tempo was high, combining new songs with classics the crowd added to the atmosphere. hopefully it wont be too long before they come back to St Louis.
Andy Bell is in fine vocal (and physical!) form in this concert of old hits and new tracks from their upcoming CD release. Erasure still has the talent and high energy even after all these years!
It was a great show and the Vogue Theatre was a great venue. The parking was great and getting into and out was a snap. Andy and Vince were great and sounded just as good as 20 years ago. I would recomment this show to anyone.
