Erasure is one of the original electro-pop dance bands, and they'll always be amazing to me for the role they played in making me who I am today, but it was especially satisfying to see them becoming current today while still playing to their own strengths and style.

ERASURE IN CONCERT:
Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."
"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."
"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

Amazing!
by Mtihc on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5Erasure played an amazing show at the Fox Tuesday night! Their new music is great, and it was incredible to hear their old stuff live!
Great Show!
by BearDM on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5I've been listening to Erasure since high school and this was the first time I've had a chance to see them. They didn't disappoint. The size of the venue was perfect for this show- I had my personal space and could see the stage well. Andy and Vince were amazing and both looked great! I will certainly catch them next time they are in town.
Wonderful show, great venue.
by DandyD on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5This was my first time seeing ERASURE in a full-length concert and I was not disappointed. Altho the set list didn't feature many of my personal favorites [Sunday Girl being one] it was still a blast and got better and better as it progressed. The songs from ERASURE's new album sounded intriguing and I pre-ordered the album prior to attending the concert. Frankmusik opened the show with a high-energy set. I liked about three of his songs, but the drummer overpowered much of the lyrics. Guess the sound mix just wasn't right.
Erasure's Return
by Jazzbeau on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5It has been a while since Erasure has been in town and Andy has not lost his vocal power. In addition he has become quite buff which is encouraging for all of us maturing fans. The back up vocalists complemented his voice and visuals. The newer music was appealing but it was the older tunes that got the crowd up and dancing. Speaking of dancing, andy did a bit as well as some posing and vogueing. A good time was had by all.
erasure is wonderful, if karaoke-like
by TCVatTheFox on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5So, this erasure tour is kind of like erasure karaoke, with (occasional keyboardist, now DJ/sound mixer) Vince Clarke simply adjusting the levels of the audio backing tracks from his MacBook pro on a metal gargoyle-style podium. But since it's erasure, its VERY GOOD karaoke. Because it was backing audio tracks, and because Andy Bell was in fine form, it sounded terrific! I wish the crowd had been more into it, because it was a very good show. They only played 90 minutes, which is a shame since there are are so many more great songs (not to mention at least 10 more singles) that they could have done! Backup singers were fine, but shouldn't have replaced Andy on the main line of "Chains of Love" - he sang beautifully and really only had one noticeably flat note the whole night. Frankmusic was OK but like a second-rate club band. New Frankmusic-produced erasure songs sounded kind of like generic techno-pop, but they may grow on me. Sound in the Fox is awful as usual. Andy/Vince's MacBook Pro sounded great but the mix made drums so loud as to damage the sound.

The first time I saw Erasure was back in the 80's on the Wild Tour and this show was just as exciting. Lighting and audio were perfect. Andy and Vince are as great as they were 20+ years ago if not better!

Amazing as always. Third concert of theirs I've gone to and still love hearing them sing their new and old songs. Also unlike some other performers I've seen live, Erasure actually sounds like the way they sound on their CD's.
Great Show! They still got it!
by MikeyV44 on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5First Erasure show and I must say I was very impressed. Great performance and can't believe what I've been missing all these years. Can't wait til the next one.

I have seen Erasure perform A few times before, and this was without question the best. Andy was in top form. There was a good balance between old favorites and new material. I would highly recommend this show to any Erasure fan.
Erasure - WOW!
by 123Mojito on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5What a fun concert! From start to finish - the crowd was completely into it. The most varied crowd I've ever seen at a concert. The Fox Theatre Oakland was a beautiful venue. Everyone was dancing - friendly - beyond excited to see Erasure. I would go again in a heartbeat, and take more friends! If you love the '80's, do not miss!
Moving and unforgettable!!!
by SynthMark on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5Vince and Andy were great, as usual. They both looked so good and happy and the music sounded great. I think Andy looked and sounded even better than the last time I saw them. They played their greatest songs and also ones from the new album (which sounded great!). It was moving on a number of levels for me, because I grew up with these songs and also because they've stood the test of time. Pure, synthpop genius that has influenced multitudes of artists that have come after them. I'm so very grateful to have had another opportunity to see them and in a great venue like the Fox. If you have the chance to see them, don't pass it up!!
Erasure at The Fox Theater in Oakland
by ladd65 on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5Wow Wow Wow! What an amazing concert! Best I've seen in several years. And they didn't play too many of their new songs from the album that wasn't out yet, thankfully. Lots and Lots of past favorites! Andy doesn't do all the crazy costumes like he used to for concerts, but that's just fine and dandy. It's all about the music anyway! Vince was stellar with his music, as always, and Andy's voice was amazing too. He can't hit the high notes like he used to, but who can when they are approaching 50 years old?!

The concert was awesome - mind blowing. Erasure were fabulous, they kept the crowd dancing, singing and cheering. It was so enegertic!! They featured songs from their new album - can't wait till the CD is released.
Erasure was awesome!
by Stacymesh on 10/5/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5Great songs and a great show! Andy and Vince sound the same as they always have!
Erasure Great evening
by Sonarcosis on 10/4/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5The show was seriously excellent; all of the hits were played. We had not heard the new album and fell in love with the new tunes they played and plan to go out and by the CD asap. Bell's voice was amazing......(how he does 1.75 hour non-stop is beyond me). Yup...Bell belted it out and Vince synthed. Only complaint was the sound was too big for the venue and some lead lines and nuances were lost in the growl. Overall it was incredible......one of the bands I had on my list to see before I die.....completed and excellent.
Erasure = fantastic!
by BenjiBenjamin on 10/4/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5Frankmusik was OK, but not exactly a good pairing with Erasure. However, Erasure played a GREAT show! The set was incredible, including some personal favs I didn't expect to hear. Their new material off the latest album was equally great, despite it being my first listen. The crowd was VERY into the show and everyone was excited. A GREAT overall experience, and since I've been waiting for almost two decades to hear them live, I couldn't have been happier at the show! The best part is that Andy Bell didn't belittle the audience and ask us to sing a verse, or expect us to yell "louder" or any of that unnecessary interaction. The audience is there to hear /see /experience Erasure, not listen to cap'n toke on my right. I really appreciate when the performers give it their all.
Incredible from start to end!
by Yahoo2 on 10/3/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5They were amazing from the moment they took the stage to the very end. I can't believe I waited over 25 years to see them.
AMAZING!!!
