ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Great show

    by section45records on 10/11/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Loved Erasure.. didn't like Frankmusik. It was a little cheese ball. I think the band should pick the lead-up band based on compatibility with the main act. All too often, record labels choose a band they want to promote..

A grass roots love fest. Andy and Vince are amazing. They dig in to the heart of humanity and throw it into the air with a bunch of glitter. They are heroic!

  • Erasure was unbelievable.....back to the 80's

by ckdashley on 10/9/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

They played most of their hits and threw in some new stuff.

  • Erasure turned back the clock!!

by Mamothe on 10/8/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

Had a great time at the Erasure concert. From the moment Erasure took the stage I was taken back to 1991 (The last time I saw them.) They did a great job of mixing in their all time classics with their new material very well and kept the audience completely transfixed to the stage. Andrew Bell's playful energy and near perfect vocals left me with a huge smile on my face and a longing for more when the show was over. The acoustics at the Ogden are first class. The sound techs do a really good job, for the most part, at keeping the instruments balanced and the microphones at good levels. Overall, I had a great time.

  • The show is outstanding!

by bibm on 10/8/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

Erasure is still worthwhile. The guys are very profissionally and the show lasts more than 2 hours, with all their great music! I recommend!

  • Back in time!

by FCBBCN on 10/7/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

As an 80's girl, I remember vividly when all these songs come out. Erasure, along with bands like Soft Cell, The Cure, Depeche Mode or OMD will always be part of my teenager years. Seeing them in concert brought so many memories. Like a flashback to some wonderful times, places and people that I have left behind many years ago. Those times may be gone, but the songs still are playing in my head.

  • Andy looked fabulous and sounded even better

by MMMMzing on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Andy looked and sounded better than he did when Erasure played the Independent. They played classic versions of the classics and the crowd loved it. The new songs from Tomorrow's World are very strong and I expect will be hits. If you like Erasure, you will love the concert.

  • SPECTACULAR ENERGY-FILLED SHOW FROM ERASURE!

by Bearpsych on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I have never been disappointed seeing Erasure, and this was another amazing evening! Andy Bell must have lost 10 pounds in sweat alone dancing around and he is a true performer! Vince was great as his stoic sidekick and smiled briefly as he strummed his guitar. The backup singers were amazing with very interesting melody chords that took things up a notch. I brought a friend with me who had never seen them in concert and he said it was the best concert he had ever seen.

  • Erasure was a freak'n Blast!

by RubyDoob on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

I had so much fun at this show. All the drinking, dancing & music. I'm happy they haven't changed their sound. The Fox Theater is beautiful and easy to get to from BART.

  • Andy's voice is pure!

by takaroa on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Erasure is one of my favorite bands and I own every album of theirs that has come out in the states. The only complaint I have is that their latest album, Tomorrow's World, hasn't come out yet here, so I wasn't familiar with the new songs. However, the new songs they covered sounded spectacular!! It was nice to see the unity between Andy and Vince and I noticed that Andy was respectful of his voice throughout the show. They're not getting any younger but they looked healthy and it was a vibrant performance. They played plenty of older tunes that made them the iconic pop group that they are. They will never disappoint. I'm a proud fan!!

  • Erasure is still awesome!

by tennisfan1 on 10/6/11Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, I can't believe that after all these years, these guys have still got it. The concert was high-energy and fun! They played both new and old tracks. Andy's voice is great--and he is sooo buff! All in all an awesome show.

  • sound system not very good

by johneastbay on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

I agree with the newspaper reviews: erasure put on a great show. However, the sound system, especially in the balcony left a lot to be desired. You could hear the booming bas but had a hard time hearing the lyrics, especially if the song was unfamiliar.

  • Erasure's Bell can still jiggle 10/4 Oakland

    by Eli4Erasure on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Andy Bell has preserved his voice. He sang perfectly. He jiggled and wiggled across that stage to keep all the fans happy. They performed all the important songs, and kept them true to the sound we know them to be. The show was like a big dance party! A couple of party pit brawls aside, the show was nearly flawless. It appeared to be sold out. The stage props, lighting effects and backup singers made for a colorful, visual spectacle. I am so glad I went. They sang so many songs. Bell's energy was inspiring. Go see it if you still can!!

  • Erasure!!!!

by MissMarmalade on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

What a mellow, happy concert at the Fox! Erasure's performance was impeccable, and everyone had a fantastic time grooving along to their classic songs as well as new tracks from their new album.

The venue was magnificent and Erasure was as good as I expected. It felt like a big party

  • A Legend in Concert

by Pucifer on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

If you love Erasure's classic dance music, you owe it to yourself to catch Erasure in concert. I loved every minute, including their greatest hits as well as their newer material. The music sounded fabulous and got everybody up on their feet and dancing, and Andy Bell's singing was phenomenal. Not to be missed!

  • Erasure delivers

by BlackGriz on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Erasure was both solid and spectacular without being kitsch or over-the-top. Of course there were still dazzling light shows and costumes - But they didn't detract from Andy and Vince. Andy proved he still has the goods - And in abundance!! The new songs were sharp - And the audience sang along with old favorites....It was a joyous atmosphere, with plenty of satisfied smiles heading towards the exits after the encore.

  • Another Fantastic Show by Erasure

by apeacock on 10/6/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great, my only complaint is that it didn't go on longer! Erasure always put on a great show, and granted, they're all quite similar in format now with not a lot of costume changes, staging, and the same kinds of backup, and lots of greatest hits to play, but no matter--if it's not broken, don't fix it! It's always a great time and bay area shows are particularly enjoyable with the passionate fan base. Our group of six danced and sang the entire time. The venue was gorgeous and we were able to see pretty well from the second "floor" level but the drinks were much too expensive for the tiny servings (my short cup was only half-filled).
