ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Great show

by JenFL2 on 9/17/14The Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

I believe this was my 4th Erasure concert and quite honestly it seems like they just keep getting better. Although I do think this was a much better venue so the acoustics were outstanding. But you wouldn't know these guys have aged. It's still the same fun, upbeat, music that I remember from high school!!

Wow! Erasure can still put on a show. They played 3 new songs and 17 that we all know and love. They played for 1hr and10 min and gave their all. Had a good laugh at Andy Bell's outfits.

Erasure killed it at the HOB. Andy Bell is an amazing singer and performer and looked like he was having a lot of fun. Danced crazy, dressed crazy, sang amazing -- what more can you ask for!

  • As fabulous as always!

Erasure was amazing, entertaining and just as fabulous as you expect! It was just a very entertaining show to catch. The crowd was so loud and energetic, match Andy word for word on all of their classic songs. Vince remixed a lot of the music to the classic songs that gave them a fun and fresh take, while allowing Andy and the audience to sing at the same original tempo. They also showcased some of the new material that makes me so excited for the Sept 23rd release!

Erasure was AMAZING!!! The venue is small so you feel like you're on stage with the band! I haven't danced that much in years! I highly recommend seeing Erasure live if you are able to.

From beginning to end it was a high energy show packed with hits old and new. Any Bell was as good (or maybe better?) than back in the day! A GREAT show!

  • Erasure in Miami Beach

by Sezie on 9/15/14The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Music was great as was the lighting. The volume of the music was a bit too loud leading to a slight distortion of the words.

  • Erasure is ALWAYS amazing!

Not the best Erasure show I have been to. (I've seen them every tie they've come to CA) But none the less a fun time. Highly recommend seeing this legendary electronic dance band.

  • Erasure Still Wonderful!

by JaimitoSF on 10/31/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

My boyfriend and I had a blast at the concert held at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA. T'was great reliving my younger days of angst and exploration. For sure, Erasure's music was the soundtrack to my adolescence. Any Bell still gives me goose bumps with his riveting voice. The crowd seemed much more animated when the classics were performed. Their new stuff was also quite good and enjoyable. As always, the Fox was a great jewel to rejoice in song and amusement.

  • True Erasure

The show was a blast! Want to follow the boys to Europe!

  • Awesome in Atlanta!

by Alpharetta on 10/19/11Center Stage - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I went to see Erasure mostly because I'm a fairly new Depeche Mode/New Wave fanatic and I've come to love Vince Clark's work (both in and post-DM). Center Stage was the perfect venue for these guys and they rocked it out. Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life. At one point, I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concert goers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing along experience. Definitely money well spent.
