ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Erasure...anytime, every time, and anywhere!

by txcyngirl on 10/8/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I cannot count how many times I've seen Erasure over the years and they never disappoint! Andy Bell's voice is as strong as ever and Vince Clark knows how to make you dance! I love the infusion of new work but it's the singalong of the work they're most known for that has you feeling energetic and happy when the show is over!

  • Erasure was amazing!!!

    by Ramen8 on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Erasure put on an incredible show, I went with my wife and another friend and all 3 of us would put this in our top 5 concerts ever. Erasure opened with Oh L'Amour and Star and it was on from there, a high energy crowd just added to the party. They played some of their incredible new songs and the rest was from their endless array of hits. Andy Bell put on a show with his sparkly attire and sweet dance moves. I want to quit my job and follow Erasure on tour!

Started out with hit after hit. Didn't miss a beat and kept the crowd on their feet. Brought back memories that made me relive my youth.

  • If you like ERASURE you just can't miss this tour!

    by DjNikkiB96 on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

First of all they sounded amazing. The music, vocals and sound quality were on point. Andy Bell came out in undies, a Blondie tee shirt and tall glitter top hat!!!!! My fave outfit of the night from him. He talked to the crowd, danced and shook people's hands. Very connected to the audience. Yes, they sang all the hits and the audience sang loud right along with him. Everyone there had a blast!

  • Super fun, even better than expected!

by lauriefromindiana on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Sequins! Hot pants! Cute witticisms with a British accent! Erasure played all the old hits and were super fun and funny. Andy Bell was clearly having a ball - you would never guess he's been doing this for decades. The whole night felt like one big dance party with the best music. Loved it!

  • Danced our kabooses off!

by Tintera on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

They sound as good as they did in the 80s. And, who can beat sequined pants!

  • Awesome Vibe. Erasure killed it.

by JRdjUniversoul on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

4000 people singing along and dancing on the main floor and balcony was crazy. So much energy and electricity in the air you could actually feel it. I've been a dj since 1986 and they brought back so many great memories. I would recommend this show to everyone. Hope they tour again in the near future.

  • Best concert ever

    by ChicagoRocks2010 on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great! I wish I had attended other Erasure concerts in the past. I danced until I couldn't dance anymore. I simply loved this show. The sound was great!

  • Awesome concert- They Never Disappoint

    by DVeto1 on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was a GREAT concert. It was one big sing along/dance party. Everyone was enjoying the party. They play the classics with some of the traditionally slower tempo songs getting a fresh, up-tempo take (You Surround Me). I would highly recommend getting tickets to see them if they are coming to your town. If you missed them this time, be sure to see them the next time. You won't be sorry.

  • Not a dull moment with Erasure

by ProfessorOnzaga on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Andy Bell is the consummate performer. His voice is still fantastic and he has great energy. I don't think we stopped dancing during the entire performance. This was truly a fun concert!

  • ALL HAIL THE SILENCE !! <3

by MaraJJ on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I actually purchased my ticket for the opening act All Hail The Silence. They were SO AMAZING!! Christian Burns has such a beautiful voice. Definitely my fav vocalist. BT adds such great sounds to the duo. Kinda like an 80's synth pop type sound, but modernized w excellent talent. They came on stage right on time too!! Sorry but I didn't stay for Erasure, wanted to catch the 8:40 train

  • Erasure's still got it!

by DaveKCMO on 10/7/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Andy's voice is still amazing. The Chicago crowd was energetic, and the band responded in kind.
