ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

Seeing Erasure live is one of life's greatest pleasures - they never disappoint and always put on a great show. The Violet Flame Tour was exceptional! So glad I got to see it.

Really enjoyed this concert. Was on my feet dancing and singing the whole way through. Seats were perfect. A happy evening!

  • Erasure always a classic event!

Even as the poor fella ages and can't always hit EVERY note...he nails all the ones you want him to nail. He was a bit rusty out of the gate with L'amour...but definitely a great act and the audience that comes with it is pretty damn fun!

  • Erasure is awesome!!

It's the second time I've been to the Bayou Music Center for a show; on the first to see the "Piano Guys", I was less than impressed...not a good show anyway... But this time the show was absolutely awesome! The illumination was excellent and Andy Bell and Vincent Clark are still in the same mood (and fitness level) they were 30 years ago! Being a die hard fan, I thought the show was a bit short in time, but agree that it's tough to get it going the way they move, should be absolutely exhausting!

  • The consumate performers!

by HCHB on 10/13/14Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

When the theater went black, the audience jumped to their feet and danced for the next 90 minutes set! Andy Bell is charming and elegant-even in sparkly boy shorts. They played your favorite classics and mixed in a few from the new album. The crows was whipped up into a frenzy, singing along with the lyrics and dancing to the beat.

  • Erasure was AWESOME

This concert almost slipped past me had I not bothered to look up the dates. Luckily and fortunate for me, I was able to look it up just hours before the Friday night that they were to play at the Bayou Music Center. The last time that I saw Erasure was back in 1989 (I'm dating myself) at the Southern Star Amphitheater at the old Six Flags Astroworld theme park. This concert brought back many memories from those days and the day of the Numbers and Club 6400 night clubs. Andy Bell did not disappointing at all. The music was great and as upbeat as it ever was plus MORE. This is my first time at this venue and after looking at it and sitting in section 207, there doesn't seem to be a bad seat there at all. I highly recommend seeing anyone there. I will be on the lookout for the line-up because I will surely be back. Thanks Erasure & Bayou Music Center for the trip to memory lane and the decent price of your tickets!!

Erasure was amazing as always! I didn't sit down in my seat one single time! It was hit after hit and I was a dancing fool!

  • AWESOMENESS!!

This is my 3rd time seeing Erasure, and his shows are never the same, which makes it even better because you don't know what to expect. He mixes his new songs and old songs and it's awesome. Would I go see him again?! YES!!

Andy Bell is such an amazing performer! Never guess he's 50 from the show he puts on. Music from the new album was great and they played so much of the old stuff for those fans like me who have been fans forever! Vince, the mastermind behind all the music is cool, calm, and focused.

  • Surprised by such a great show

by htowntrex on 10/13/14Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Four people, one identifiable musical instrument, and sequined speedo shorts. Not the ingredients you might think would make up a great show, but Erasure impressed with just that. The speedo shorts could have been kept under wraps, but Andy Bell was electric and in such good form vocally, even those were forgiven. The duo, backed by two backup singers, played a fantastic selection of past hits and hidden gems along with a few tracks from their new album. The new tracks were very strong and the crowd (clearly all old fans) didn't stop dancing during them; a very good sign indeed. A fantastic show for anyone that is even the slightest bit an Erasure fan.

The show was great! I've seen them many times before and they know what they are doing! I look forward to the next time they come to town!

  • Andy Bell & Vince Clarke haven't missed a beat

by Mokka on 10/8/14The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Felt like it was 1991 again. Andy's voice was just as good as it was over 20 years ago and the the great architect of sound Vince Clarke was just as wonderful and the light show accompanying it would rival anything in Vegas!

  • Erasure is THE BEST!!!

I absolutely LOVE ERASURE and this show was GREAT. The only downside was they did not play the "end of show" song "Stop!"
