ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

AWESOME! One of their BEST concerts ever (and I've been to many in the last 20 years!)! Went to both concerts in NY and they were totally worth losing my voice for! It was pretty much a "Best of" concert. I wasn't entirely a fan of the venue though.

Erasure was simply fantastic!! This was my first at Terminal 5 and I had a great time. No complaints! And, I am one to complain frequently.

I was there to see Erasure. There were 2 other opening acts. One was a dj which was fine & the other was a duo group that I did not care for. The female singer's voice was very low & harsh. Erasure was really good. They've been around since the 80's & have many years of experience touring which you can tell. There was no glitch & their transition from one song to the next was great. They do have a lot more popular songs which I wished they played & could have gone longer without the 2nd opening act. I also liked the venue cause it was small & you can be at the way back & still have a great view rather than some big concert venues that are obnoxiously big like Madison Sq Garden. I also liked that they crowd was older (30-50's) no teeny bopper kids.

  • J'adore Erasure

    by Corinnepcm on 1/3/15Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

High energy crowd pleasing show. Andy Bell is a performer extraordinaire. They know what their audience wants and they deliver from start to finish. Only a few songs from the new album, which is a great album, but it's nice that it wasn't pushed on us. We sang and danced our hearts out all night. What a fantastic way to ring in the new year!

  • New year party for the prize of a single concert

Despite the fact that the concert started two hours late, the concert was awsome, great lightning effects, powerful sound...

  • Excellent show

    by Khalel on 1/3/15Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I wanted last minute plans for NYE and found this concert. So glad I did!! I liked Erasure and always had good fun with their music. Andy Bell is still a showman full of energy, dancing around and he did a count down for New Year. It was far cheapier than a NYC NYE party and more fun dancing their hits live! Book of love was there and I love some of their songs so that was a great extra.

  • Excellent!

    by KMGAGS on 1/3/15Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The set list didn't disappoint, with everything you'd want to hear included. Bell's voice is strong. The energy was unbelievable!

I heard these guys were still good, but I didn't expect them to be THAT good! What a great, fun night, would see them again in a heartbeat.

  • by GOODMUSIC999 on 1/3/15Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

In a word OUTSTANDING!!! ( Except for the outrageously bad opening band--entirely not necessary with all the talent out there) Andy Bell is a major talent and still under the radar

  • Erasure was wild.

Went with my daughter to see Erasure. Saw them about 10 years ago and this show was just as fabulous. It was funny, nostalgic and Andy's voice and dance moves were outrageous.
