About

Eddie Izzard is a British comedian and actor born in Aden, Yemen. The genderfluid performer got her start in sketch comedy and street performance before launching her stand-up comedy career. Known for her rambling, stream-of-consciousness monologue style and self-referencing pantomime, Izzard won two Primetime Emmys for her 2000 special Dress to Kill. The comedian’s film and TV credits include Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), The Riches (2007), Valkyrie (2008), Cars 2 (2011), and The LEGO Batman Movie (2017). Izzard also earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. In 2024, she premiered her one-person adaptation of Hamlet, which will transfer to Chicago and London following its triple-extended run in New York City.

    Never Disappoints

by JagerLilly on 10/19/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

First of all, the venue was awesome. Small enough to not have to hunt for our seats, the restrooms, or the concessions, but large enough to get a stadium type of experience. As always, Eddie delivered the fun. I always enjoy his wit and political correctness. Just this side of edgy, without being screamingly woke. Very happy with the overall experience.

If your'e a fan you will love it

by Diesel on 10/19/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

I'm unsure of Izzard's pro nouns, and I do not want to offend. I have not seen Izzard's performance before, I have known Izzard from movies. My friend is a magician and really wanted to go to the show. Purchased tickets 45 minutes before curtain. We had awesome seats. I didn't know what I was getting into. My friend absolutely loved it. I would recommend, if you're a novice, to watch some stand-up before as this is supposed to be a remix of previous acts. I personally didn't understand what was happening. There are amusing parts. Just do some research. I would never put down someone's art as I do not have their courage. I am glad I went but probably wouldn't go again. If you follow Izzard, you will love it.

You either get him/her or you don't

by PJUKGirl on 10/19/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Always try and catch Eddie's show when it comes to the Los Angeles area. This show was a little different as he/she was revisiting the classics from earlier years. You could tell who the longtime fans were from the reaction of the audience. First timers don't always get that it's not traditional "stand-up", more a stream of consciousness that you have to listen to, to realize how clever it really is. It was a really funny and enjoyable show. I only gave it four stars because the sound at the Dolby was not up to par. At times it was almost muffled. Guess that wasn't really Eddie's fault, so 5 stars for him.

    Brilliant comedian!

by AiAmHere on 10/19/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Eddie Izzard is one of the greatest, most intelligent storytellers of our time. I’m a big fan and have followed her for years and seen her in all sizes and types of venues. Just before this show, I saw her in her spectacular one-woman show, Great Expectations, in London. What a treat to see her in her latest tour: The Remix: The First 35 Years. My jawbone hurt from laughing so much. She exudes smart, cheeky humour while taking sly pokes at religion, politics, and the general cultural climate of today. I was a bit afraid she would rehash her old skits verbatim but no, she cleverly referenced them but in a brand new, absolutely entertaining manner.

    Eddie Izard’s Worth the wait

by Auggie on 10/19/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

It was a very good show. I had wanted to see her for years but timing was always off. It was worth the wait. She’s funny, kind, smart. Enjoyed the show very much. I was SLIGHTLY disappointed by limited dialog and use of sound effects instead. The show needs a little fine-tuning. However, I’d go again if given the chance. One word of warning to California Ticketmaster customers. Do NOT park at the Hollywood/Highland Center at 6801 Highland. Took 25 minutes to FIND a spot (I prepaid, bought the parking when I bought the tix) and it took 2 HOURS!!! to get out! Park ANYWHERE else for shows at Dolby, Hollywood Bowl.

    Brilliant, intelligent and hilarious

by MrWoj on 10/19/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I had never had the opportunity to see her live and I was so very happy did. I wish the evening were a bit longer mainly because the content was so good. The Dolby theatre itself, meh.

    Suzy Eddie Izzard is incredible!

    by Crystal-Lee on 10/19/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

We had such a marvelous night out laughing nonstop with this incredible artist. If Suzy’s performing, I’m getting a ticket and that’s just that!

5 stars for Eddie, Zero for Dolby!

by Maria B on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Eddie’s show was fantastic! Getting out of the Dolby parking took over 120 minutes. My sisters who parked elsewhere were in San Marino and Monrovia LONG before I even left the parking lot, it was a complete mess! Had to exit the car to go upstairs to call the sitter! It was so bad, I thought about parking, unerring and figuring it out the day after!

If you love Eddie Izzard, this is your show. A little more relaxed than the last times I’ve seen her, and even more funny. 🙌

    Sound Fail at Dolby Theater

by Chris on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Five Stars for Eddie. ZERO stars for Dolby’s sound mixer. The sound never came to the back of the lower auditorium. It didn’t sound like any of the speakers all around us, were working, except the stage speakers. They weren’t loud enough & we spent the entire night trying to hear. I told staff at intermission & they relayed the info. The sound did not change. I never saw anyone come to our area to test the sound issue. It was extremely frustrating & took away from a very anticipated experience. We’ve seen Eddie Izzard 5 times. Four were great.

Lots of recycled material and reliance on microphone amplified animal noises.

great venue, though parking challenges. Love Izzard, but he was hard to hear clearly due to accent and theatre audio.

    Brilliant Show

by Iconic on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Eddie (Suzy) is a true comedic icon and I'm so luck to have seen her live for the third time. Venue was outstanding -- clean, lines weren't too long, felt intimate but still a huge crowd. Loved the entire experience!

For this guy to remix his own jokes and for the audience to laugh from beginning to end, that's art! Eddie is the smartest comedian out there! Thx man!

    Eddie, Great! Dolby Theatre, boo!

by Jeezy Chreezy on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Eddie Izzard was his awesome self—an intellectual delivering comic genius. This is the second time I've seen Eddie at the Dolby Theatre and I was disappointed, again, that there were no giant screens to capture his facial expressions, which is a big part of his story-telling. I sat at an upper level the first I went to see Eddie. This time I sat at the Parterre Level and still could not enjoy the fullness of his delivery. So sad, Dobly.

    Dolby Problem

by Bette on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I made the mistake once again to book seats on Orchestra Right. The acoustics are terrible on that side of the theatre. A few around me complained as well. Disappointing when you miss so many wonderful jokes from the expert Izzard that others get to hear and enjoy. Last time I was on Orchestra Left and the sound was fine.

    Outstanding

by EnglishmaninLA on 10/18/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Grew up in UK watching Eddie perform on TV from the beginning. Always hilarious so to now see him perform in my new home country on a massive stage was epic. So clever, honest and despite the flamboyance there is a massive humble quality they exude when the crowd laughs and applauds. Thanks for all the laughs, especially through these challenging times.

An end to a long run

by SaraB on 10/17/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I have followed Eddie Izzard for about 30 years. Loved him from the first London theatre gig and have recommended him widely. This is probably the last time I will go and see him in a theatre. The venue was too large and the acoustics meant that I could not follow quite a bit of his set and my American companion lost about half of the set. Shame. I also recognized much of the material if not verbatim then in essence and got the sensation that really he has moved on and so should I. Fond memories.
