About

Eddie Izzard is a British comedian and actor born in Aden, Yemen. The genderfluid performer got her start in sketch comedy and street performance before launching her stand-up comedy career. Known for her rambling, stream-of-consciousness monologue style and self-referencing pantomime, Izzard won two Primetime Emmys for her 2000 special Dress to Kill. The comedian’s film and TV credits include Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), The Riches (2007), Valkyrie (2008), Cars 2 (2011), and The LEGO Batman Movie (2017). Izzard also earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. In 2024, she premiered her one-person adaptation of Hamlet, which will transfer to Chicago and London following its triple-extended run in New York City.

An end to a long run

by SaraB on 10/17/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I have followed Eddie Izzard for about 30 years. Loved him from the first London theatre gig and have recommended him widely. This is probably the last time I will go and see him in a theatre. The venue was too large and the acoustics meant that I could not follow quite a bit of his set and my American companion lost about half of the set. Shame. I also recognized much of the material if not verbatim then in essence and got the sensation that really he has moved on and so should I. Fond memories.

Love her but wasn’t my fave

by Libby on 10/17/23Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

While I adore all the old material that was at the center of the show, there was kind of a tiredness to it. Also, we sat waaaayyyy up in the Mezzanine- really too far away. She did a piece I hadn’t heard before and that was really the funniest part.

    Eddie hilarious as always

by SG on 10/9/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

It was great revisiting some classic Izzard jokes and getting new twists and connections between them. Had a great time!

    Disappointed

by NATUREGAL on 10/6/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I love Eddie, but she mumbled and rambled on in this performance and I did not enjoy her sense of humor like I did in the past. Sorry but I felt like was a waste of time. I won't attend one if her performances again.

Eddie/Suzy Triumphant Return in Remix Tour

by Lissa on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Minnesota gave Izzard an extended standing O as soon as she walked onto the stage wearing gorgeous Louboutin boots, swing navy skirt, and a high blonde pony. Uproarious, smart, thinking person's material. She was able to weave the audience's favorite bits from years past ~ I'm covered in beeees, Cake or Death, Church of England. There was a brief intermission as well as an encode. Just magnificent work. Izzard held the audience enthralled.

Hard to rate what you can’t hear

    by L. G. on 10/6/23

I’ve heard him live before, and loved every bit of it. Overall big fan of his comedy. But this time me and my group really struggled to make out even 50% of the show - sound quality in Minneapolis was really poor.

    Truly a spectacular evening

by Connie on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Attended with my adult child, and seeing Suzy Eddie Izzard in person was many things for us: nostalgic, hilarious, smart, affirming, tearful, joyful. The show itself was a great mix of very familiar bits plus bits we'd either never heard or had forgotten, and all of it was delivered with Suzy's characteristic panache. I live a six-hour drive away from Minneapolis; I spent 12 hours in the car over the course of about 30 hours total, expressly for the purpose of visiting my kid and attending this show together, and it was worth every minute. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Izzard Never Disappoints!

by Tabitha CM on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

You might think a remix show wouldn't feel fresh and new, but it did! Oh goodness, did it ever! Some of the best material from over the years, retold with a new slant. Haven't laughed that hard in quite a while! If you're deciding whether or not to see Suzy Eddie Izzard live, you won't regret it if you do.

Great show, less than idea location

by Sara on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Love him! He was as funny as I remember him and we just love him and all that he represents. The location of the State Theatre, however, was a bummer. We were in the balcony and the sound quality from the speakers by the stage weren’t great, and he talks fast :), and it would have been fun to have screens where we could see his facial expressions because that’s half the fun of his comedy. The theatre is beautiful and historic, just hard for those of us in the cheap seats to have a better experience :)

    Still Eddie

by Chrone on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Eddie hasn't lost her touch. Thus wasn't just a grab one joke here grab one there. It was a retelling with different executions and it made it more fun. Lots of laughter to be had.

    Suzy Eddie is the best

by HuskerMn on 10/6/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

We just love her. Have now seen her 3 times live and own most of her DVDs. Only regret is that since she's a Brit, I occasionally wished I had captioning because my hearing isn't what it used to be and her enunciation is different. Hope the performance gets to DVD and/or streaming.

Certainly well worth the price of admission

by Le President de Burundi on 10/5/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

My only regret is not having seen Eddie Izzard live and in person sooner. I laughed until it hurt. I certainly hope you win your seat in Parliament, Eddie. However, if you don't, I would love it if you ran for mayor of Chicago. Come back soon, please.

    Perfection

by MacyK on 10/5/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Eddie was amazing as always. Last time I saw her was at the United Center, so this was a lovely change—every seat was amazing. All new material with updated references to some of her most famous and enjoyable bits. Lines for refreshments and merchandise weren’t long, and it didn’t take too much time to get through the metal detectors at the front doors. We took our 12 year old, who is a huge Eddie fan, and we all had a fantastic time.

Loved seeing Eddie Izzard live again! Incorporating oldies for the long time bee keepers into new material. Brilliant!!
