About

The best night of rock n roll for your 2016 is kindly announced......courtesy of your party starters supreme and ministers of all musical mayhem EAGLES OF DEATH METAL. The divine sound of live rock and roll made as God intended.

Balls-out, ass-shakin’, soul scratchin’, boot scootin’, neck lickin’, freewheeling just-for-the-hell-of-it raw, sleazy, dirty, sexy, groovy, good time, joyful, smile on your face pure unadulterated, psychedelic, blues and Rock. And. Glorious. Roll.

Eagles Of Death Metal was formed in 1998 in Palm Desert, California by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme (who also founded Queens Of The Stone Age). EODM have just released their fourth album Zipper Down, their first new studio release since 2008.

This will be EODM’s first NZ headline show since they blew the roof off the St James in 2007.
“…. genius, hilarious and brilliant. Such words don't even begin to describe Jesse 'Devil' Hughes and the Eagles of Death Metal, but they're about as close as one can come, when left reeling from a night of outrageous rock 'n' roll magic.” (New Zealand Herald)

Despite their band name, EODM (Eagles Of Death Metal) is not a death metal band. The story goes that a friend was introducing Joshua Homme to the death metal genre, and Homme wondered what a cross between the Eagles and a death metal band would sound like. With that EODM was born and has never looked back, flying ever upwards and hell bent on good times. The band released Peace Love Death Metal in 2004, followed by Death By Sexy in 2006, and Heart On in 2008.

EODM are known and loved by fans for simultaneously owning and mocking the overtly stylised image of Rockstars, all the while (Homme) describes their sound as a combination of "bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals".

“I came up with a great analogy for what the music is. It's bending George Clinton over a couch and butt-fucking him using Little Richard as the dick and the Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry as the balls” (Hughes).

Joining front man and guitarist Jesse Hughes on the road on guitars is Eden Galindo and Dave Catching, Matt McJunkins on bass and Julian Dorio on drums.

More hook laden than your old job at the bait shop and with a stage presence akin to sexual dynamite Eagles of Death Metal are an eargasm of glorious groove. A fivesome of parallel universe Rock n Roll Superstars.

“The new album Zipper Down really represents to me an attitude and philosophy of life,” says Hughes. “One should not zipper up, they should zipper down and let it all hang out.”

  • Best concert EVER

by Bella on 11/2/25Rating: 5 out of 5

We went to the final residency concert at the Teragram Ballroom and it was more than fun! It was the best time any of us have had in a very long time. The energy that Jesse and the band has is so infectious. The concert and the rocky horror performance was such a blast!

  • FUN!

by THRILZ on 9/13/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

"Fun shows"are often fun for very different reasons. The Communal Vibe and the Improvisation were a blast... and of course - The Music! - Also really loved the opening band - the Binges! I'll be looking to see them both again. Maybe Oct. 30th, back at the Ballroom for their final of 4 shows there?

  • Concert Ruled but Parking…

by Hophead on 8/24/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Amazing show, but the route to the parking lot was surprisingly long and takes you under a bridge. Trust me, you don’t want to walk under a bridge in downtown LA late at night. That’s the last time I take the Ticketmaster parking add on deal. At one point, EDM’s Jessie Hughes joined his mom in the balcony for a touching moment. Intensely fun show despite the tale of dodging bullets in Paris.

  • They were amazing

by The EODM flew high!!! on 7/27/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The Eagles of death metal were rocking out with their kitschy style and everybody had loads of fun.

  • Best live show for grungy rock n roll!

by Music maven on 7/27/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Boots (Jesse) brings everything he’s got to the live shows, his preacher man “love you all” vibe is infectious as are the amazing guitar grinds from the band. Genevieve is so fashionably cool and a badass female bass player in the vein of Poison Ivy from the Cramps. This was first of four residency shows so I’m going back again before the goodness is gone!

  • High Energy

    by JMB79 on 5/10/17State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Hoping they come back and do their own show, this one was shared with Russian Circles and Mastodon, so shortened concert for them. Played a little of everything, and did wonderful justice to covering Moonage Daydream...must see again!

  • Eagles Of Death Metal, Josh Homme, Gutter Twins

by keslerone on 12/16/16Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This show ROCKED!!! I went in with an open mind and got blown away!!! The Gutter Twins w/ Duff McKagen were awesome. Kinda subdued bluesy rock with a punk edge to it, SOLD! Josh Homme was acoustic AND A BLAST. Who knew he was a comedian as well. His whole energy that night is what makes an evening like this memorable to begin with. LOVED IT!!! Finally E.O.D.M. came out and had more fun than Dave Grohl on his birthday. They kicked butt and really rocked the house. The energy was superb as well as the show itself. GO IF YOU CAN!!!!
