About
DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:
Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."
"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."
"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

Amazing show. Period.
by Cmprodxn on 3/11/13State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Both bands killed it, and are the kinds of bands meant to play live. The State Theater is one of the coolest venues in the country. Great view of the stage in every part of the room and the sound is big and clean. My favorite venue anywhere.

great sound, high energy, good crowd, wonderful band & a wonderful night
The world's best rock band nobody knows
by Humboldt25 on 10/29/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5One could argue the national tragedy is not the debt. It is not the waste of a generation of young men in Iraq/Afghanistan. It is not the widening gap between rich and poor. It is the fact that the greatest live music band going is mostly unknown to the world. That is hyperbole obviously, and the Truckers would never disavow true tragedy. But what amazes is that they never fail to delivery despite the relative onscurity they live in. Friday was best rock show ever witnessed. How could they top that Saturday? They didn't even try. Then came with more subtlety, more anger and in the end topped a weekend of rock n rock redemption.
DBT Rocks The National
by Anonymous on 10/28/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5Once again DBT do not disappoint. This was my 7th show and anytime they are in town I will go to the Rock Show, and they deliver the goods. This is a band that puts out excellent albums and a rare occurrence where they are even better live.
The best!!!!
by CrystalDBT on 10/28/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5Was a great show!!!!!! Had our two kids with us who love the truckers also!!!! The base guitar player Matt took the time to give our son a guitar pick and sign his hat and if that was not cool enough he even did the same for our daughter which made the ride home much more peaceful and thier experience that much better !!!! Coolest thing I have ever seen and you have 2 live long young fans now rock on!!!!
Doesn't dissappoint

DBT never disappoints. Seemed like Cooley had a lot on his mind.
Absolutely amazing band & venue.
by Anonymous on 10/23/12Bluebird Nightclub - BloomingtonRating: 5 out of 5LOVE. Recommend both the venue and the band...drinks are overpriced, but hey, what else is new?
Not the normal preformance.
by danibeth302 on 4/21/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 3 out of 5Due to Levon Helms failing health at the time it seemed as though Patterson wasn't "feelin" it. Wasn't his best performance but it's understandable, I've just seen better. Also there seemed to be more Cooley songs than normal. Which could have also been an affect of Helm. It would have been nice to hear them cover one of their songs though. Can't wait for them to come back around.
Awesome, DBT at their best
by 1smartlady on 4/20/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5Awesome as usual. Loved it every minute. The bass player was so happy to be there, it was infectious. Oh to have one work day that happy...... Front and center, the Norva is the best place to see your favorites.
DBT rocked it out:-)
by Darlika on 4/20/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns up close and personal. This was my daughter's first real rock show, and before we got home, she asked me when they were coming again. Well played, gentlemen:-)
Drive by truckers and megafaun
by Castindreamz on 4/20/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5This was amazing, the opening band megafaun was the first opening act i had heard in years that i actually wanted to keep listening to after the first song! The truckers put on a good show and i really loved watching the bass player that was filling in, to watch him play with a smile on his face the whole time was awesome! I love to watch musicians when u can tell they really love what they do.
DBT Rocked Again

Truckers deliver!
by Einreb on 4/14/12The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 4 out of 5Another solid show! New bassist is great! "Only" played two hours, though. I'm used to longer shows from them!
DBT!!!
by jwhity on 11/22/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5The band rocks! They played a wide variety of thier songs and were spot on! Anyone who hasnt seen them, make sure you do the next time they are in town. They are awesome!
Three's The Charm!
by Grooveman45 on 11/22/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5I've seen DBT three times now, twice at two different Mountain Jam's, and once now at the State Theater. The first MJ show was without Isbell so I was disappointed not to mention that I thought they would have been better, the 2nd MJ show had a better prepared John Neff and was a bit more polished (can you say that about DBT?). This third show I recently saw was a much better show than the prior two combined. I still miss Isbell, but John Neff is the man. His leads on electric and pedal steel are tough to beat. I especially liked the way they integrated the pedal steel into Carl Perkins Cadillac. Isbell used to play a badass 12 string on this one, but I think I like Neff's take on it better. Both Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley's song selection was very strong, and very heavy on the back catalog which was appreciated. The Living Bubba and Women Without Whiskey were "Hard to beat" so to speak. I again would have loved to hear more material from the Dirty South and Decoration Day, but alas those days are gone by.
Drive-By Truckers
by freefallinm on 11/22/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5Excellent show, the opening act was good and we enjoyed them. The show was general admission which we didn't like. I would rather pay more and not have people standing in front of us. The band was on their game and played an excellent set we would definitively go see DBT again, they rocked. We were disappointed that the event staff ushered everyone out as soon as the show was over. Would have been much better to be able to mingle for a bit and not feel rushed out the door.
DBT sucked!
by fnelsonburns on 11/21/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 1 out of 5The sound was awful. couldn't hear a word of any song.
Great Show, as always!
by ShrewsburyMom on 11/21/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5These guys put on such a great show. Portland is a great town. Wonderful combination. Only complaint- mix was off making the vocals hard to understand and with a band like DBT that's sad. Still a great time.
