About

DR SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway sensation which features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss' original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, as this sparkling production breathes new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. Don't miss what The New York Times calls "AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story."

  • Grinch loves Christmas

by GrinchLove on 12/2/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing. Loved the sing along, bright colors, snow, fun atmosphere. Highly recommend. The venue should open a little earlier so people can get seated and no one should be allowed in after the show begins - very disruptive.

  • It was just OK

by SR on 12/2/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

The show was short, which I suppose is good for the kids in the audience, but the story was just ok. I guess I was hoping to see more references to the movie and not the original cartoon. Again, not terrible, but not great. I would've saved my money for a different show had I known.

  • Boring

by Allie on 12/2/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 1 out of 5

We were really excited to see the Grinch. The Grinch actor himself was good- much like Jim Carrey. The remaining cast was average, very little staging/props, not very many catchy songs, all of the kids surrounding us were also continuing to ask to go home and when it was going to be over. Hard to keep anyone's attention. Very disappointed for the amount we spent on tickets.

  • We loved it!

What a great show. The Grinch character was phenominal. Thank you for kicking off our holiday season in such a great way.

  • Good but nothing more

by KP on 11/15/24Robinson Center - Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

We were very excited to see this live performance. I brought my 7 year old daughter who is a life long Grinch fan. We had to leave half way through due to the Grinch being “too scary” for her. It’s was hard to follow the narration with “Old Max” with the younger Max being on stage too. Maybe suggest the minimum age to 10 years old.

It was my granddaughters' (ages 5 and 7) first time seeing a theatrical play, and I really wanted them to have an unforgettable experience, so I splurged on orchestra seats. They absolutely loved it, and I enjoyed how the Grinch got the audience involved. Now, I’ve got two new theatre buddies!

My family loved the production. It was soooo beautiful, but all 3 generations could not handle strobe lights.

  • The Grinch

by Kurt on 11/12/24Robinson Center - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

My family and I of eight went to see how the Grinch stole Christmas musical. For some of my family members it was their first musical. It was brilliant, spectacular, funny, entertaining for the whole family. We would definitely recommend this for families of any age or even for a date night.

  • Dazzling show

by Toki on 11/12/24Robinson Center - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

Show was great! Really enjoyed watching the talented cast sing new and classic grinch songs. Wouldn’t recommend for children younger than 3 due to the show being 85 minutes.

  • Grad performance

by Battyla on 11/12/24Robinson Center - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

The Musical was funny, upbeat, and entertaining. The actors were great and did a wonderful job. I love the mix of the old story into a newer one. We had a great time and it was a fun family outing.

  • Cute and about the right length!

by Angel on 11/12/24Robinson Center - Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

The girls in my family love The Grinch! So, we knew we had to attend when we heard it was coming to Little Rock. We took my 4 year old granddaughter to see it. When asked what her favorite part was, she replied "The Grinch!"90 minutes was the right timing for someone her age. Us adults thought the play was really cute!

  • First show!

by Snyder on 1/2/24SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

We watch The Grinch about 15/year, so naturally, this was the first show for our son. It was perfect. 90 minutes few by, we didn’t leave early… as can happen with busy boys. Next year, he requested sitting closer.

  • Really really cute.

by KR on 1/1/24SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 4 out of 5

Super colorful, great music! We took our seven year old granddaughter and she liked it but she needed a little more storytelling and a little less singing. Because she didn’t know all the songs, it was a little hard for her to follow. I also wish I bought floor seats, but was worried she would have a hard time seeing with no riser.

  • FANTASTICALLY PHENOMENAL

by MoJo on 12/21/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, this show was wonderful for all ages. My partner is not a huge fan of musicals and his immediate review was “I wish I could see it again!” Unfortunately, we saw it during the final weekend, but this will certainly be one that we share our experience with friends and family. Thanks to the cast, crew and band for an incredible show!

  • Ok holiday musical...not spectacular.

by Liz on 12/20/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

I brought 2 9-year-olds and one 13-year-old. They thought it was okay. Nothing amazing.

  • Good play but not the best

by Lynn on 12/20/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I liked the play but was expecting more of the songs that I knew so was a little disappointed that those were not in there. Overall, a good play and liked the snow and the times that they made it interactive with the audience.
