Our tour guide, Greg, did a terrific job! The tour is complete within an hours time and it’s very cool to see first hand where the Oscars are held and learn how the Theater is transformed for the big night!
I enjoyed the tour very much. The tour guide Andy was amazing. He gave us all the details about Oscars and showed us every corner of the theater. To all Oscar nerds I recommend this tour, this is must-see in Los Angeles.
My wife and I were a little disappointed that the tour lasted a mere 25 minutes - our guide arrived 5 minutes late and.....er......’forgot’ to add the time on at the end! Yes, we were impressed with the mighty auditorium, particularly as we had watched the Oscar ceremony a fortnight ago but would have liked to see some behind the stage facilities, orchestra pit etc. Perhaps a short introductory film at the start of the tour would also have added to the interest and experience. It could show highlights from Oscar ceremonies over the years, any amusing incidents (e.g. wrong winner announcements, gaffs in acceptance speeches, stumbles/trips on stage, MC jokes etc) and excerpts of other events hosted at the Dolby. This would have been preferred to looking at a small iPad image used to occasionally illustrate the tour.
Tour was very informative about theater, it’s history and the various award shows held there. We were able to go onto the stage to view the theater from that perspective as well as various other places.
I was so glad I got a chance to see the theater that hosts the academy awards and "feel" what its like to be a celebrity. Alex our tour guide was amazing and friendly and I appreciate his explaining things and his knowledge of behind the scenes of the academy awards. Just being in there was MAGICAL and was all worth it. I wish I could have spent more time in there. But definitely a MUST DO attraction when in Los Angeles!
Our tour took only 15 minutes. Our group had only a Indian Family with us. First you can see the Oscar Statue. So you take pictures. The guide give you some informations. After that he take you to inside the Theatre where happens the Oscar Cerimony. But, We stayed in small part of the Theatre and any moviment to another part, the guide would say you can't, you can't, you can't... He was too boring. So, he told us some stories about the Oscar and took us in the Hall. In this moment our Tour ended. My worst investment in my trip. Don't waste your time and your money. I should have chosen another Theatre, like Chinese Theatre.
My daughter enjoyed celebrating her 16th birthday in Hollywood and the Dolby theater was the icing on the cake. Just a wonder experience.
