Nothing short of brilliant.
by DM on 10/25/25Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - BerkeleyRating: 5 out of 5Everything - and I do mean everything- about this concert was amazing. The opener, Post Animal, lit the place up, and it was great to have Joe come out and join his original bandmates for the last two songs. Their multilayered vocal harmonies were a standout. Djo himself, what can I say. His vocals were perfect, being at times electrifying, other times heart rending. His stage presence was magnetic; he is one effortlessly charismatic guy. Multitalented in the vein of Paul McCartney, too, swapping out his guitars several times, then moving to piano/keyboard, and even joining other band mates on synth for a couple of EDM tracks. The set was well-paced, and the songs sounded fantastic live. He’s a hell of a songwriter, and every one was a banger. Shout out to the lighting team too, because they did great job. Inspired design and flawless execution. The best part of it all was that Joe looked like he was genuinely having fun. His chemistry with his extremely talented band was palpable, and you can tell they love playing together. That kind of joy can’t be faked, and it was infectious. All in all one of the best gigs I’ve been to over the last 20 years, and that’s saying a lot. Music is in good hands with guys like these.
