I am not a musical fan, but I do like Lion King, but this was excellent. A great show with very talented people. A definite must see.
I was moved to tears during the opening number! Beautiful set and costumes and amazing acting.
This show was definitely more than expected. My mom had been wanting to see this show for years, so I surprised her with tickets. She was beyond happy to see the show and cried during the opening. The culture of the show was beyond amazing. I felt as if I was apart of each scene. I saw the show when I was in 5th grade and was amazed then; to have seen the show again and have a different (BETTER) experience was a great thing! This show is definitely a must see. SIMPLY AMAZING!
What a show! I had the greatest time watching The Lion King! The whole production was amazing from the costumes, the actors, the funny dialogue and the sets. I highly recommended this show to my friends and coworkers.
Was afraid the play wouldn't live up to my expectations---WRONG. It couldn't have been better. Costumes, staging, dancing---everything! This play was at the top of my bucket list and now I can't wait to see it again. If you have the opportunity run-don't walk to get your tickets.
The show was fantastic! My grown children were in awe because it was so wonderful. They enjoyed the costumes, the songs and some of the improvisations. They said if they could see it 12 more times they would. Lion King was their favorite story!
I've been wanting to see this show for the past 18 years, and I finally got the opportunity to see it. I was amazed and in awed throughout the whole show. I am a big Disney lover, and I immensely enjoyed it. Lion King is one of my favorite Disney films, so I was a bit sketchy about the stage version. I was utterly blown away and I highly recommend it. You could feel the energy from the whole audience, as well as the energy of the cast. The cast was truly talented and the creative team did an excellent job on the production, especially on the stampede scene. The show did not failed to make me, along with my fellow theatre members, cry during Mufasa's death. You must see this show, it's a MUST SEE SHOW!
I had seen The Lion King on Broadway, and loved it. This version was just as wonderful and entertaining.
So much action, vivid colored costumes, great music and singing.
Entire experience was elevating. The actors were top-notch, the music was beautiful, the singing was electric, the costumes were out of this world and the special effects...outstanding. We were hugely entertained.
On Wednesday evening, we took our 8 year old grandson to see The Lion King, his first real play. While its our third time, the magic is still there, perhaps even stronger than before. To watch his face in rapt attention as the animals paraded in and the music began was worth every penny of the ticket price. This play is magical in all aspects: music, costumes, the book and the superbly talented cast! A must see for everyone.
This production is fantastic, everything about it was terrific. There was absolutely nothing that should be done differently. The costumes, the scenery, absolutely amazing. Worth seeing time and time again.
The actors were great but they were hard to hear (I'm 29, not 92 and I had a hard time hearing them).
I can honestly say that every aspect of this show was a jaw dropper. The cast, the music the costumes, effects were fantastic. A must see show for all ages. I highly recommend main floor seating to get an up close and personal view of the cast as they preform some numbers from the aisle way.
I've never seen the film, but I'm familiar with the story and the songs that became popular. That said, those are the songs I liked least. What I loved is the African singing, which is gorgeous and thrilling. The fabled costumes are what I really went to the play for. Having seen bits on TV and photos in newspapers, I wanted to see all the costumes for myself. Wow! Not only amazing, but so very clever and imaginative. The sets were also imaginative. The acting on all levels was excellent, including the children. I'm not a big fan of the story, though, and I was getting bored shortly into the second act. The singing, the sets, and the costumes are what kept my interest through the end of the show.
I have wanted to see this musical for a long time and it did not disappoint me. The visual imagery, characters and singing exceeded my expectations.
I knew production had great reviews and was so pleased it's all true. I have recommended it to everyone ... Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. And the young kids next to me were riveted
The show itself was great but the seats were bad. The whole stage left side could not be seen.
loved the show--the music the costumes took my 11 y/o son who loved it as well i generally stay away from disney productions as they are a rip off but this show was amazing
Wonderful staging, props, story with some classic songs. Matinee show was one-third filled with small children who remained surprisingly quiet, totally rapt by the live musical version of the sights and sounds made so familiar by Disney.
