It's our Family's Thanksgiving date. We would like our boys(2) [even they're already teenagers] to experience how to watch a play and Lion King delivers! Beautifully made when it comes to production and excellent performance.

We saw Lion King 2x when my kids were little and now my grandson got to enjoy it live for the first time. He was in awe on the “Circle of Life.” Won’t get tired seeing it again and again.

The play was great, it was my first of many more to come. I really enjoyed the the whole experience of what the stage actor’s practice and perfected for the public’s viewing pleasure. Wonderful experience

The production was exquisite! The puppetry and the way the actors brought them to life was really amazing. The pit orchestra was top-notch. I especially enjoyed the Keyboard 1 improv and virtuoso playing.

  • Fantastic Show

by Dale on 12/3/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was absolutely terrific. My granddaughter came and was thrilled by it. For negatives: the doors were not opened until exactly 30 minutes before show time & a large crowd had to brave the very cold weather & then was motivated to try to all get into the theatre at the same time. Opening the doors earlier, especially if a crowd starts to build, is the obvious answer. Conversely, after getting settled in, the theatre was on the warm side, & should have been set cooler.

The play was great!! Saw two time before. 45 min is not enough time to fill an auditorium. Even when we got into theater we were still jammed up. Couldn't find an attendant to get a program, but after going from door to door finally did.

  • This was our third Lion King experience.

by Lucy Lu on 12/3/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The most recent experience was not nearly as dynamic as our other two. There were times young simba was difficult to hear and understand. A bit disappointed

  • Amazing

by Toni on 12/3/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The show captured my attention from beginning to end. The music was perfectly choreographed and the puppetry a work of art. I loved the giraffes and the elephants. What put it over the top was the scene when Mufasa appeared to Simba. That was pure genius! It is a performance for all ages. However, adults would definitely appreciate the artistry more than the children.

  • I loved it!

by KimN on 12/3/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Lion King is one of my favorites musicals, top 5. I haven't seen it in years, but it is still just a delight! This is a terrific cast. I really liked the grown up Simba. What a beautiful voice! Timon and Pumbah were also fabulous. There was no weakness in this cast. I did find that the audio made it hard to hear the dialogue sometimes. Mufasa was difficult to hear. I was happy there was open captioning. It helped when it was hard to hear the dialogue. Don't miss this show! It is exciting, delightful, and very well done. I could watch the giraffes, the cheetah and the zebras all day. So much fun!

The Lion King was an absolute delight. Cadillac Theater is a classic venue. My family and I had the best time. Costumes and storyline was just as the movie. Great time

  • Great Show!

by OMPBLUS on 11/30/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was great. The only thing was that the actors/singers voices could have been a little louder in regard to the level of sound of the orchestra. I particularly liked the engineering involved in the mechanics of some costumes.

  • Wonderful!

by Lucyandethyl on 11/30/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The play itself was wonderful. But a lot of people fiddling with candy wrappers, squeezing plastic water bottles, kids moving their heads side to side. Annoying. Actors were outstanding and made the play enjoyable despite the distractions.

  • Lion King did not disappoint, but the theater did.

by Nancy on 11/30/22Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I first saw Lion King performed on stage 25 years ago. This show was better than I remembered. The costumes were spectacular and the music was delightful. I was, however, greatly disappointed with the service at the Cadillac Palace in Chicago. The lines at the concession stands and at the bathrooms were so long that we could not use either one during intermission, despite the fact that I stood in the concession line, and my daughter stood in the bathroom line, for the entire intermission. When we were told that the show would be starting in 5 minutes, we had to return to our seats thirsty, with full bladders.
