About

Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour

If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.

Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.

Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.

On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

  • For all ages!!!

I think I had more fun than my 3 year old. It was so engaging and it kept the attention of my daughter the entire show. When it was over she cried for more. I had a feeling that would happen so I purchased the VIP package. I enjoyed singing along and the story line was easy to follow. My daughter is still talking about the concert. I loved Disney as a child and I'm so proud to say, I still do!

  • Cute show

    by Irishgal79 on 9/26/18Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 5 out of 5

Fun and cute show only disappointment was that none of actual Disney characters came off stage to “dance” with the kids.. it was a dance party after all and I was expecting characters to be dancing in aisles like we saw with Sesame Street Live shows.

  • Disney Jr. Dance Party was not worth it!

    by CAMP123456789 on 9/26/18Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 3 out of 5

The price of the tickets were outrageous for what we were given. For my son and I to attend, it cost 107.00. We did not have good seats and were way close to the back of the venue.. With that being said, our view was not the best. However, had the show been a little more exciting it could have made up for it. Don't get me wrong.. any event with my son is a great time, so we did have fun.. However, most of the show was on screen. They had minimal actual characters on the stage and they weren't out for very long when they did come out. I guess I just expected more out of it. I was sort of disappointed. I have been to a ton of shows with my boy and this one was probably the least entertaining.. and we love Disney Junior!

  • The WORST show we've seen

    by Vitac08 on 9/26/18Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 1 out of 5

This show was by far the worst my family has seen, and we've seen over 20 "kid shows". First of all, most of the characters were shown on a big tv screen, not "live" in person. We could have stayed at home and watched these shows on tv and saved $200. Secondly, the two hosts they had throughout the show were bored and not very involved with the show. They were just going through the motions. We didn't even stay for the very end of the show, my 5 and 3 year old kept asking if it was time to leave!! They were bored out of their minds. It wasn't a true "Dance Party", I thought the point of the show was to get this kids up and dancing but that certainly didn't happen, and my 3 year old daughter was upset because she was looking forward to that. Overall the show was boring and very disappointing. There are far better shows to be seen, don't waste your money on this one.

The venue is amazing. Love the architecture. Awesome customer service flow from the beginning to the end. I don't know who had the most fun me or my 2 year old. It was one heck of a party. This is definitely an event not too miss

The music should have been more upbeat. The music for Elena of Avalor and Sophia the First was too slow. The kids came to dance and party. Expect long lines for the ladies restroom.

  • Disney was great!

My 3 grandsons loved it! I would eliminate the intermission. You lost the attention of many of the younger kids.

This show had few characters & mostly the D & J singing with cartoon video playing in the background. The acoustics made it difficult to understand the words, not sure if it was the theater or something else

  • Disney Disappoints

by DFKL on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

This show was poorly conceived for target audience. Filler made up a large portion of show. A ten minute countdown after the official start time is one example. Children expected to see characters live. They have seen them as "video performers". My 4 year old granddaughter rattled off a list of characters and asked how come they weren't there. Two "disc jockeys" as MCs were horrible and inaudible most of the time. Don't waste your money!

  • Not Disney’s best show

by DisneyFam456 on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

This show was 90% about these dancers and DJ people than it was about the characters. We were so excited Fancy Nancy was going to be there, and Doc too - but we only saw each for about 2 minutes. Not the best show we’ve seen. I rather do Disney on Ice for the money.

  • Best Show Hands Down!

by Nonnie1006 on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Best show hands down! My grandchildren loved it! We purchased VIP tickets which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The VIP tickets included pre-party meet and greet with the characters which was awesome! They had a beautiful spread with pizza and snacks and drinks, an area for playing with Disney toys, and last but not least a mini show with the Disney Staff. They entertained the kids with music and dance. It was absolutely sensational. The best money I ever spent!

  • Terrific first show for kids

by FunwithAunt on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was a wonderful show for young kids. My niece was mesmerized. It was just long enough. Highly recommend the pre/post party events as you are able to do a meet and great with the characters. Gives the little ones a chance to meet some of the characters in a controlled environment.

  • Disney Junior Not for Juniors

by Junior123459 on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Way too much talking, did not keep my 3 year olds attention, nor did it keep the attention of the older children around us. Just awful

  • Disney Junior Dance Party Tour

by Angie1780 on 9/25/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

I was a bit disappointed and felt jipped honestly. Thought the show was well put together however, my inner child was expecting the characters to be dressed up in costumes which is what kids love but most were just people dressed up. They did a good job just not as exciting as the real characters in costume. Also in there performances felt like there should have been more show characters dancing not dancers. Don't get me wrong my 19 month old enjoyed most parts but there were some that she was not even entertained and got restless. Overall it was decent and loved seeing my babies smile n happiness in her face but definitely not worth the price we paid. Sorry not trying to be harsh just being honest.

  • Fun and full of energy!

A really nice show but more for girls. Lots of theme songs and music, with a lot of dance.

Totally enjoy the show. The cast was incredible. We love Disney!

  • Loved it!

by Anonymous on 9/19/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Wonderful show for children and adults! Great feel-good factor, we loved seeing Mickey, Goofy, and Vampirina on stage! In the 1st half there should have been more character appearances but it got better after the intermission. Loved the songs, and would definitely see a "Disney Live!" show again!

  • My Daughter Loved It!

    by Shanlee17 on 9/19/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Very engaging, fun stage event with singing and dancing. My daughter loved seeing all the characters she knows from TV. Our seats were in the back of the orchestra and still could clearly see the show.
