Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour
If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.
Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.
Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.
On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.
This show was great for kids but boring for parents.
Cutest show ever. My two year old daughter and I had such a great time. Almost a week later and she’s still talking about “dance party”
It was great just wish it was longer. He is 2yo and won’t stop talking about it
It was fun but wish they had all of the Crew including Donald and Daisy. We preferred Sesame Street to this show
It was way too loud, the hosts talked way too fast and the female had a very annoying voice. This is not geared for children under the at all. My grandson couldn't wait to leave. There should NOT have been an intermission, it dragged out this already long show ever longer.
My daughter loved it! And I would go back again to see it
I wish they had Mickey and Minnie and friends there from the start and more throughout/ even if it was a quick hello.
It was a great show, we really enjoyed it and would see it again!
The sound was HORRIBLE which made it hard to get engaged. For the price if the tix I feel kinda robbed.
My 2 and 1/2 year old had such a great time at the Disney Jr Dance Party and after party. It was so worth the cost to get the after party tickets. Meeting Mickey and Minnie one on one was so much fun.
I took my 5 year old and we had a great time. The lines moved quickly, both entering the venue and getting food. The souvenirs offered were really cute too. We had orchestra seats and they were perfect. The hosts were entertaining and engaging, and all of the kids there (aside from the babies or super young toddlers who seemed to not like how loud it was) seemed to be having a great time dancing and singing.
Poor production. Very disappointed in Disney. This production did not keep my child attention.
This was such an awesome experience for my 2 1/2 year old. She had such a great time. It was even enjoyable for the adults.
Cute show but sound quality was not good. More time with the characters would have been good.
3 year old loved the show. Fun and interactive. Disney quality show for sure. Great singing and dancing. Even from the balcony, easy to see everything. Only thing was I wish Miles from Tomorrowland was there as that is my son's favorite disney junior show.
I really enjoy the Oakdale theater. This was the 2nd time there and I would definitely go again. The seats are comfortable, bathrooms were clean, the concessions were decent. However, I would not buy tickets to see Disney Jr dance Party again. It was NOT worth the money I paid. It was fairly boring and my daughter did not leave the event over joyed. It lacked something. Disney failed with this one.
I've been to several different Disney tour shows and enjoyed all of them with the exception of this one. My daughter was only mildly entertained My husband and I were bored. We actually ended up leaving early.
I purchased the VIP package and for the money they charged I didn’t feel it was worth it. VIP after party where you meet characters, included food, beverages and games but unfortunately they did not have enough food (which the food choice was very poor) or games to accommodate guess.
Kids loved the show. It was good to see some of the newer characters there. More floor level interaction would have been nice. Show could have been a little longer.
Too many skits, not enough singing and dancing. And having an intermission was a poor idea when you're trying to keep small children engaged. My son liked it, but I wouldn't do it again.
