About

Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour

If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.

Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.

Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.

On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

  • Disney junior dance party

It would have been nice to have an area for kids to dance along, more Disney characters, just more interactive since it’s titled “Dance Party”. Unfortunately, I feel it was a waste of money...I’ve been to quite a few Disney on Ice shows and they were excellent.

  • Worst Disney Show

by DCKT on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

This show was very disappointing. While it certainly included the elements of dancing, they mostly featured two DJs throughout the show than the actual Disney Characters. I wish they focused more on the music and dancing but instead we were stuck with the (unfunny) skit by these DJs. Our 4 year old did enjoy it but was definitely not as enthusiastic as the other Disney shows she’s been to (such as Disney On Ice or PJ Masks Live). There was no “magical” moment children expects from Disney live shows. A Venue was not appropriate for the Disney shows/family oriented shows either (no parking, very little concession stands, no food/drink at the seats etc...). I recommend you use money on other shows.

Not good. Did not really feel like a true Disney experience

  • Giant commercial for Disney Jr. - not worth it

by RoMomma on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

This was disappointing - especially if your child is used to Disney on Ice events. It was mostly recorded music and graphics on a screen behind the some humans speaking on stage. We couldn't understand anything they were saying and it just sounded like noise, so the kids were lost immediately and instantly started asking "when can we go home." We didn't have great seats but still... It was just a review of Disney Jr. tv shows. If you're looking for Disney princesses or characters from movies, you won't find them at this show. Each little tv show bit brought out a character, but it wasn't for long and they didn't reappear except for the final sendoff, so it was very brief and not that exciting. The only merch being sold was for Vampirina and it was very limited and, as usual, very over priced. There was also very limited snacks and drinks (I assume bc they weren't allowed in the theater), so the kids were bored, hungry and thirsty. Not a great combo, and not worth the effort.

  • Should have done Disney on Ice

    by BananaPants99 on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

The show left a lot to be desired. Many of the characters were just on screen and my daughter was disappointed. The lighting was AWFUL and often when the lead character was performing the stage was dark and we could barely see them. Then they would finally turn on the spotlight at the END of the performances.

  • Doesn’t live up to Disney standards

    by Disneymom100 on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Disney usually does it right but I think they missed the mark on this one. It may have been that the venue didn’t allow the show to have the special effects that would have taken it to the next level, but if I wanted to just listen to the show theme songs, I would’ve saved a couple hundred dollars and turned on Disney Jr in my basement.

  • Not the best Disney performance

    by TYM62522 on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

I’ve been to a lot of Disney performances, Disney live and Disney on ice, etc. They are always great. This was the exception. I don’t think they practiced the lighting at all because for half of the show the main performers were completely in the dark while the spotlight sat elsewhere on the stage. Would not recommend this show.

What an entertaining evening! So much fun! Cast was amazing

Really cute show. Could have done less "talking" and more dancing but all in all worth it. Both my kids had a blast and that's all that matters!

  • Dance party

by Rachel46 on 10/1/18Mid Hudson Civic Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 4 out of 5

My grand children loved the dance party..I just wish there were more characters for them to meet and that it wasn't so rushed. After the character meet there was a lot of down time. They could have had more things to occupy the kids. But the actual show was amazing.

  • Disney Jr really did Rock

    by Brixo220 on 10/1/18Broome County Forum - BinghamtonRating: 5 out of 5

My three year old daughter had the best time. She was most excited to see Fancy Nancy, but lives that they were all there!

  • VIP NOT worth it

    by Bick28 on 10/1/18Broome County Forum - BinghamtonRating: 3 out of 5

The dancing was fine. D & J difficult to understand. The price for VIP and seat location was NOT worth the money. Friends bought tickets day of down the row from us for regular price. Cold pizza, gold fish, lemonade and a couple pictures was not worth the extra money at all. Characters should be more present on stage - they are who we came to see. Two and a half year old child fell sound asleep for last hour - and she loves Minnie Mouse who did not appear until almost the end of the show. Also too much lip sinking. Just not up to what we would expect from a Disney production.

  • Cute for kids

My 2 year old loved seeing all her Disney Junior friends!

  • by Anonymous on 10/1/18Broome County Forum - BinghamtonRating: 5 out of 5

Better than most children shows due to the fact it has upbeat music and has kids excited for most of the show

  • Disney Junior Dance Tour

by Nicci21 on 9/29/18The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic. However, the pre-party for VIP’s was very disappointing. We were shuffled through a line to get our pictures taken with some of the characters and it was very rushed. The dance party portion of it was fun for our daughter but the food was awful, cold and not enough to feed all of the guests there

My grandaughter had to sit on my lap the whole show could not see in front of her it was a waste to pay for her seat and they were not cheap .There was no interaction with kids they called it a dance party but no place for the kids to dance . It all sounded good by the commercial and it being disney thought it would be but was very very disappointed
