About

Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour

If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.

Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.

Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.

On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

I thought it was too expensive and the sound system was terrible. The kids kept asking what are they saying. The 2 people that commentated the performance were not geared toward younger kids. Overall a bad experience.

The show is cute and fun! My 3yo had a blast so did i! I think you guys could be more creative and do a better job with the appearance of Sophia the 1st and Vampirina. D, J, and the dancers are great!

  • Not too happy

by Mehammer43 on 10/7/18OceanFirst Bank Center - West Long BranchRating: 3 out of 5

First and foremost, the show was fantastic, loved every moment. My only complaint is that was not given the seating I paid for. When I complained I was told it is was it is.

  • I expect more from Disney

I"m sorry to say I HATED this. Obviously I was attending for my 3 year old and not me but I really expect more from Disney. The character performances were fine but the two "DJs" were awful. Not their fault, the dialogue and story were sorely lacking. Come on Disney, you can do better.

  • Fun overall

Once the kids started getting into it and dancing, it got a lot more fun. The music was good and the characters are great. Wish more live characters came out (like muppets). The D and J hosts made jokes a little older than my kids but it wasn’t long until the next act came out.

  • Wonderful show!!

My daughter didn’t stop dancing the whole show. Even entertaining for myself as I know all of the songs From watching Disney Junior everyday LOL! Definitely buy tickets for this show when it is in your area, it is worth every penny and the memories you get out of it are even better.

  • Not much of a party

    by ShannaL10 on 10/3/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Some kids were enjoying the singing but it’s wasnt that much dancing to be done lots a slow songs from the charters. Mickey wasn’t only on stage twice. And to much talking for young kids. After intermission my child asked to leave she didn’t even want to see the rest of the show.

  • Terrible and a waste of money

by DisappointedAnon on 10/3/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

The 2 no-name narrators (D and J) were the main show. They danced about the stage and chattered between numbers and only a very small glimpse of a character would come out (AFTER their entire show's theme song was played). For example, they played the entire Puppy Dog Pal song while D and J and other no name dancers flitted about the stage. Then at the conclusion of the song, they brought out the 2 puppy dog puppets briefly and then they left. On to the next D and J banter... On to the next theme song with no-name people. Then a quick glimpse of a character and gone. At one point, my son was watching D and J and he even said, "This is weird." It was when J was pretending to be hurt and half lying on the floor to kill time between songs. Honestly, it was the worst Disney show I have EVER been too. There was no plot other than the ceiling crystal ball was missing in the very beginning and finally was revealed at the Very end. There was very little exposure to the various characters and they always appeared after their theme song. This was strange as Disney could have had them dancing to their own number. I paid a lot for VIP tix and was very very disappointed.

  • Great Show

    by TPARW40 on 10/3/18Hershey Theatre - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

This is a great show for all ages. Has all of the popular characters from Disney Jr and of course Mickey Mouse. Great music and dancing. Keeps the kids attention the entire time. Lots of fun no matter where you are sitting.

  • Kids had fun

by Tml1234 on 10/3/18OceanFirst Bank Center - West Long BranchRating: 3 out of 5

The show was cute. The kids enjoyed the music and the characters. I thought there could have been a little more character time and a little less MC/ DJ time but the kids had fun.

The venue wasn’t kid friendly and the show was boring. So much singing with regular people and the kids actually wanted to see the characters . The end was fun though .. they need to go back to the drawing board next time. I should have read the reviews prior buying my tickets would have waited for Disney on ice

  • Disappointed

by MammaShell03 on 10/3/18OceanFirst Bank Center - West Long BranchRating: 2 out of 5

My 3 yr old was super excited to go to the Disney Jr dance party. She did not enjoy the show and asked to leave multiple times. Where you would think at least ONE Disney character would be in stage at all times that was not the case. There were 2 "DJ's" that were the focal point along with back up dancers. The Disney Characters were after thoughts. I was very disappointed and don't feel the show was worth the money I spent and was not worth the 1.5 hour drive to get there.

  • Disapointed

Sound quality was poor. The show was ok but nothing special.

  • good show

by kat1428 on 10/3/18OceanFirst Bank Center - West Long BranchRating: 3 out of 5

Disney show was good. We bought tickets back in May for our sons 3rd birthday. Both my kids loved it. However, the merchandise looked cool but it already broke. Be careful of the spinning light up wands.

  • Adorable and Fun

I thought the show was really cute but most importantly, a lot of fun for my 2 1/2 year old! He was engaged and awe struck the whole time. Makes it all worth it!

  • by Disneyjrmomof2 on 10/3/18OceanFirst Bank Center - West Long BranchRating: 3 out of 5

The kids loved the show but after being to other Disney shows at other venues I felt this show spent a lot of time on the 2 main characters d&j and not enough time on the Disney ones. Was kind of upset I paid all that money for the characters just to be on a screen vs be there or come out for one song and leave. I read that this was supposed to be geared for pre schoolers more and my pre schooler was confused on why he’s favorites were only on the tv and that he could barely see the ones who did show as there weren’t any spot lights on them. The venue itself was pretty good.

  • Disney Jr dance party

by TVirginiaR on 10/2/18DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

We couldn’t really hear the DJs so a lot of jokes and comments were missed. The kids didn’t stay entertained. It was a little boring. No room to dance.

  • Great Show for Kids!

It was a great show! My 5 year old enjoyed it! She has been asking to go ever since seeing the advertisements on television. I am glad that I took her.

Grandson had a great time seeing the Disney characters he watches everyday on the Disney channel come to life in front of him. The venue was ideal for the gathering and the staff were polite and helpful.
