Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour

If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.

Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.

Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.

On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

  • Disney Dance Party

Great fun for kids!!! The actors tried to get the adults involved, not sure if that's a great idea when you're in auditorium seating. Event started at 6pm which is tough getting kids, fighting traffic, finding parking and getting inside venue. People were still arriving at 630. Overall concept is good, the kids there really got excited. The live actors and digital media was fantastic.

  • The Disney Dance Party is for all ages!!!!

Initially, I didn't know what to expect. My daughter, her friends and I all had a blast! Great characters, amazing animation on stage right before your eyes, fun music and even the adults (like me) enjoyed it. I would recommend to all ages and we would go to see it again.

  • My toddler had a blast

Great show. My 2 year old son had an amazing time. He didn’t want to leave.

My 4 year old son really enjoyed it. He danced the entire time! Even as an adult, I enjoyed the show myself. It was great to see all the kids, big and small, dancing with no cares!

  • Good but not what I expected from Disney

My grandbabies love Disney..I thought the tour was good but had too many lull moments.the kids love the characters .too many slower paced songs..the kids loved the high energy songs.

  • Disney Jr Dance Party is still a hot topic!!

by Memories4fam on 10/11/18Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

It was my 3 year old’s first live event and she loved every minute of it. It’s been two weeks and she is still talking about it! I even caught my 13 year old getting into it. It was a fun filled evening out with the family where we made some new and wonderful memories. The show was well put together and very entertaining. The sad part was not taking part in the VIP experience which to me seemed way over priced so I refused to go that route but all in all we had a great time.

  • Not for younger kids

My daughter asked to leave half way thru the show. Not meant for younger kids. Spend $450 for nothing.

  • Super Fun!

If there were more character dancing than the actually people hosting the show that would be great

  • Not what I expected

The show was okay. The sound inthe theatre wasn’t great and my son was bored during some of the parts.

  • Fantastic Show

  • Super fun for 4 year old

Great dance party. Kids were encouraged to dance. The VIP after party made the event. My Child LOVED getting her photo with Mickey, Goofy, Vampirina and Fancy Nancy. Magical.

  • by AKRUIZ on 10/8/18Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

The show was not as expected. The “DJ’s” were over the top ridiculous...too much talking. Not enough character involvement. Mickey was only on stage for maybe 10 minutes and Minnie maybe 5 if she was lucky. Not worth the money, time or energy. I’m disappointed because my children love Disney Jr and anything Disney is always amazing. Will not recommend or attend another Sisney Junior Dance Party unless it is constant character interaction and less nonsense from annoying hosts.

  • VIP Party was very disappointing! Show was nice.

by LiveLife1Water8 on 10/8/18Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

VIP preparty tickets are sold offering meet and greets, picture opportunity, gift and snacks. However you are not notified that information on 2-3hr before exact times for VIP preparty will be emailed from another company not recognized causing it to go to your spam file. Causing you to arrive an hour early to be told the picture opportunity and meet and greets are no longer available. When you speak to the VIP Party coordinator she tells you nothing but snacks is offered an hour before the show. You show that there are no emails that were sent and they dont even try to accommodate you at a later party. They rather tell you you should have checked your spam. How are you to know to expect an additional email from another company. Terrible experience with Disney's VIP Party at this show. The show was amazing and interactive for the children.

  • Disappointed

Terrible! We spent $600 on 3 vip tickets. They let you take 1 rushed picture with 4 characters and have a random employee use your own phone to take the crappy photo, not a photographer. Then there’s some cold pizza and two teenage employees that dance around with the kids for an hour. Next is the actual show, terrible! We were right in front on an aisle and it still sucked. There are only a handful of characters and they stay on stage and do not dance with the kids. There are no dancers in the aisles to encourage the kids to dance and there was no dance floor area or designated space for the the kids to dance. The same girl in a different wig played fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and one other character. You basically spent an hour watching teenagers dance in street clothes on stage while the little kid looked on from their seat with sheer disappointment. Total waste on money even with awesome seats and the VIP pass. It was $600 down the drain. Wish I had read the reviews first.

  • very very disappointed

i was expecting alot more actual characters coming out being involved with the show, way too much dialogue from the people presenting the show , not enough characters coming out very lackluster

  • Amazing!!!

Everything about this show was amazing. The grandkids had a wonderful time and were able to get up and dance. Very interactive and the VIP party afterwards was the icing on the cake. So well run and a 5 star rating for sure!
