About

Disney Junior Dance Party on Tour

If you ever find yourself in a house where children younger than 8 reside, there's a pretty good chance you'll find a TV locked onto Disney Junior. Since 2012, this offshoot of the Disney Channel empire has provided young kids with a station to call their own, presenting a slate of beloved animated shows that have introduced children to a whole new generation of diverse cartoon characters.

Among its most popular creations are the pint-sized superheroes of PJ Masks, the Latina teenage princess protagonist of Eleanor of Avalor, and the toy-fixing heroine Doc McStuffins. With a stacked lineup like that, it can be awfully difficult to peel the kids away from the TV set and encourage them to go outside for some physical activity. But there's an opportunity for the kids to enjoy all their favorite Disney Junior characters and get some exercise at the same time.

Disney Junior Dance Party is a touring stage show that brings the channel's animated icons to life through a series of musical numbers that encourage audience interaction and movement. Your enthusiastic hosts Dee and Jay lead a revue that features all your Disney Junior favorites — including Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, and the Ghoul Girls rock band from Vampirina — in elaborate set pieces that incorporate animation, large dance troupes, awesome costumes, and copious amounts of confetti.

On top of providing a dramatic visual backdrop to the various live routines, the set's trio of large circular screens — arranged to evoke Mickey Mouse's face and famous big ears — also play host to video vignettes starring Muppet Babies and The Lion Guard. But while the performance may showcase Disney's newer cartoon franchises, you can also expect appearances from classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, decked out in the racing gear from their Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

The entire show was amazing my kids knew every song. They did a great job at keeping the kids attention.

  • Disappointing

    by 1234boys on 10/22/18Peoria Civic Center - PeoriaRating: 1 out of 5

Very disappointed in this show. I expected to see Mickey Mouse more and not on screen. The Mupet Babies and Puppy Dog Pals came out for less than 5 minutes. I thought the characters would have been out on stage more than they were. The DJs were too much of the show. It’s was hard for kids to stay focused on the show when there was so much time between acts. Very disappointed and will not recommend to any of our friends.

  • Fun for everyone!

We had so much fun! My kids loved it. Dee and Jay (the hosts) were funny and engaging. Even my husband liked it. We've been to a few live Disney shows and we agreed this has been our favorite. We attended the VIP after party as well and it was definitely worth it. The kids danced and played with balloons and some new Mickey toys they had on a play table. We had pizza and snacks and drinks then met Mickey, Minnie, Vampirina and Fancy Nancy. We would definitely love to see this show next time it comes our way.

Whether on location or via a traveling tour, Disney never disappoints! VIP packages are definitely worth it! There is something magical about seeing your children interact with the cast/characters - and the sweet treatment that is given to children. The show was great - High energy, great crowd interaction, a must for all Disney Junior enthusiasts! So much fun having all the new characters appear! Great job!!

  • Disney Junior Live was a waste of $!

by Laurenkayyy on 10/21/18Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This event was a complete waste of money. It was an event for young children because hello (Disney JUNIOR) and there was way too much dialogue. Kids didn’t get it, they just wanted to see the characters. A character would come out and do about a song and a half and then leave. It was just completely overpriced and absolutely not worth it AT ALL.

  • Disney jr dance party boring

by Tmc72 on 10/21/18Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Little kids don't want to watch a DJ. They want to see the characters from their favorite shows! Also it was a dance party without a dance floor. Expensive.

  • Disappointing

by DCDan3 on 10/17/18The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 3 out of 5

The cast did a nice job, especially the female lead. The male lead relied way too much on irritating Nick Cannon-like faux enthusiasm (way too much, “Everybody make some noi-oiiiiisssee!!” nonsense ). Not nearly as interactive as I had hoped it would be. Our three-year-old loves Mickey and the rest of the traditional and contemporary Disney characters but he was bored much of the time with the mediocre original songs.

Really enjoyed the show, lots of energy, kids and adults both had a great time. The pre-party was really fun., characters and staff all very approachable and happy.

I thought it was very cute and full of energy. My granddaughters really enjoyed it and I thought the dancing, outfits and fun time the dance crew was having was evident. They seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

  • Awesome show

by BJMecom on 10/15/18Saenger Theatre Mobile - MobileRating: 5 out of 5

We loved the show. My daughter is 2 and a half and she danced her little heart out. The DJ's made it so fun!

  • It was entertaining.

by GoMimiGo on 10/14/18Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

It did keep my 15 month old granddaughter entertained but I was expecting to see more Mickey and Minnie. I know...this isn't about me.

  • Disney Jr Dance Party was so much fun!

by BoyMom48 on 10/14/18Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

We had a great time! Wish there was better/closer parking. The tickets were WAY overpriced, but it was a great show, very lively, constantly something going on. My 5 yr old son absolutely loved it! The VIP pre-party was great!! I expected it to be loud, crowded, and full of crying/screaming kids. But, it was smaller than expected which made it very enjoyable!

Very let down! Over half of the show was either video or people dancing...NOT THE DISNEY CHARACTERS

  • Disne Cool Dance Party

by hogslady on 10/14/18Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

The show over all was pretty good. The lighting and action kept the children's attention. The dancers did a good job. But as this show was for young children, there was too much narrative. Young children aren't going to just sit and listen when they have been singing and dancing, and the ones that might want to listen can't here for all the noise.More singing, dancing, comedy....less dialogue And, definitely, more Mickey and Minney!!!

Not enough character time. Cartoon & plain clothes dancers filled too much time. Waste of money! Very disappponted! Expected Disney characters to be dancing. Took my 2 1/2 year old grandchild and he asked me Why wasn’t Muppet baby not there in person!! It was just a video!

  • by Dadof2yrold on 10/14/18Robinson Performance Hall - Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

Exciting performance for our little girl. She lost her stuff every time a new character came out. Wish we would’ve brought something to do/ snack on during the 15 minute intermission.
