About

Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Who needs 'em?!  Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the hilarious hit musical that’s anything but Grimm.  Forget the princesses you think you know – the original storybook heroines have come back to life to set the record straight.  After multiple sold-out runs nationwide, these royal renegades tossed off their tiaras to bring their hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical to you – and what you thought about princesses will never be the same!

    Great Girls Night Out

by osleepyone on 5/26/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

What a Great Night out. The Cast were a riot and really kept the crowd engaged. Their chemistry was wonderful. Would be a great time for a Special Birthday or Bachlorett party.

Disenchanted was not worth the ticket price.

by underenchanted on 5/26/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This was the most expensive lackluster show I have ever seen. Limited audience appeal. If you don't know about the "princesses", you will be lost. No sets, same costumes the whole show. Hard to distinguish lyrics at times, Occasionally, amusing, but not worth the cost.

    Phenomenal

by skulldagger57 on 5/25/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

One of the greatest shows we have seen in many years. Hilarious, irreverent, a bit off color and extremely FUN. The cast was perfect for their roles and their interactions and timing were flawless. If you don't see any other shows this is the one you should see.

    Hysterically smart and entertaining!

by Docmbw on 5/25/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The cast is fabulous. The music clever, funny, and the perfect balance of honest, smart, fresh, snarky, and just a dash of raunchy. Perfect event to see with friends, and even better way to get on the good side of your true love. Not for the prim and proper who can't find humor in the exposure of Fairy tale sexism turned on its ear. The only wish would be for the audio to be a little clearer, sometimes the instrumentation overtook the vocals making it hard to hear the lyrics.

    Doubled Over Laughter

by JenKeljik on 5/24/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I came for a girl's day with 6 others. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Some actresses play more than 1 princess, which adds to the comedy. It's dark humor, so it's not for young kids or conservatives. The songs are catchy and the costumes are fun. I would highly recommend this show.

    What fun

by Chrisandcompany on 5/24/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

There's always that moment at the end of the story you wonder - so what really happened when they got married. This show answers that question with hilarity ! This is not your typical musical ! It's much more ! Great voices on that stage with takes on Princesses and what 'happily ever after' can mean. Highly recommend this as a fun way to spend some time !

This is why they call it Disenchanted

by Ralph3 on 5/23/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

If you enjoy some seemingly talented performers shrieking at you through similarly monotonous songs within a pithy plot containing a few gratuitous epithets, then you may enjoy this show. For me, Disenchanted refers precisely to my feelings from the 3rd minute of the musical through its conclusion. I did enjoy the smooth dance moves of Madison Hayes-Crooks. But that was my highlight.

    Must See Disenchanted!

by Anonymous on 5/23/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

An irreverent, hysterical look at how the Disney Princess lives really are! Don't let the raunchy reviews scare you away, it's not as vulgar as some of the reviews make it out to be.

    Good fun

by Wegoeveryyear5 on 5/23/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The show was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. I read a description once saying Disney Princesses meet South Park, I think that kinda sums it up. It's silly, comical, little raunchy, girl power, sorta show. The girls had great voices and humor was spot on. Would love to see it again. The cast comes out after the show to take selfies with you and talk to you. All around good time.

Great idea but doesn't go far enough

by RatherDisenchanted on 5/23/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I love the premise of infusing a dose of reality into a fairytale. I absolutely adore the injection of some healthy sarcasm into Disney's interpretations of the princesses. Therefore the setup of Disenchanted could not be more perfect for me. Unfortunately the writers did not spend much time on coming up with a witty and smart take on it, but rather limited themselves to the completely obvious jokes about Disney's female leads. While they did add some cheekiness to the princesses, they gave them only very few original lines. Overall it was a enjoyable play, but it left me wishing for much detail oriented jokes and less shallow humour.

    DISENCHANTED was Delightful!

by Anonymous on 5/22/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

If you want an enjoyable 90 minutes filled with clever, cute songs and lots of laughs, this is the play to see. I went with a group of woman in our 50s and 60s and each one of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Is it a bit raunchy-yes, but that's the point. In March I took my grandchildren to the Marriott to see CINDERELLA AFTER THE BALL (clever, sweet and they loved it) and DISENCHANTED was the perfect adult version telling how girls and woman do not need to be treated as princesses, we can stand up for ourselves and life on a pedestal is not all that great. Something we all need to remember!

    Almost peed in my pants

by Lauralie2016 on 5/21/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty were the best. The German Number had me crying laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.
