About

Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Who needs 'em?!  Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the hilarious hit musical that’s anything but Grimm.  Forget the princesses you think you know – the original storybook heroines have come back to life to set the record straight.  After multiple sold-out runs nationwide, these royal renegades tossed off their tiaras to bring their hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical to you – and what you thought about princesses will never be the same!

    Great Girls Night Out

by dnpeting on 5/16/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

My friend and I laughed the entire time during this production. We enjoyed the sassy and cynical take on Disney's princesses - think Ariel a la Miley Cyrus - and recommend this for a light-hearted girls night out.

    Fun and Sassy

by HobbesGrrr on 5/15/16The Broadway Playhouse @ Water Tower Place - Chicago

I grew up watching Disney movies, and I still watch them, but I was never a huge fan of Princesses, At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this play, then I learned more about it and I loved the idea of the each Princess telling their own version of the story. I am thrilled that I gave it a try. The actresses were all amazing both at singing and acting. They had a lot of sass and silliness, along with great voices and costumes. I was there opening night and got front row seats! There was a mix of everyone in the crowd, Gay, Straight, Men, and Women. This show is for teens or adults, it is not a kids show. There is a tiny bit of crude humor, but it is done well and slightly masked. This is a musical, so there is plenty of singing and dancing. Snow White is the lead of most of the performances and she did an excellent job, her facial expressions are great! Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are also leads and they were wonderful too. Cinderella was funny and quirky. Sleeping Beauty was hilarious, she had it all, funny dance moves facial expressions, and a great tone throughout the show. Belle made an appearance and did amazing things in a chair...you gotta see it to know what I mean. Ariel was there and she was a bit drunk, the actress played this role very well. Pocahontas was a bit sad. Mulan had a funny monologue/dance number and the actress was full of energy. Rapunzel went back to her German roots and some of friends joined in the fun. The Princess Who Kissed a Frog had a bit to say about that and it was funny. Some of the actresses play multiple roles and they do a fantastic job. I'm very interested in a soundtrack of this play, it was that funny. There is plenty to see, I don't want to give it away, but if you don't go, you will be missing out.

    Awful Revue

by ChiTheaterNut on 5/15/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This show has no plot and each scene has no more than one joke. It surely would have done better as a series of YouTube videos than as a show where you're forced to binge watch mediocre parody. The actresses give it their all, but no kiss can save this frog.

    Disenchanted was witty and entertaining

by Sugarplum19858 on 5/15/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Disenchanted pokes fun at some obvious inconsistencies with the Disney Princess stories. If you love them, but wish they'd add a little depth to the characters, then this is the show for you.

    Nothing to write home about

by sat0lyt on 5/15/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Subject matter is a good idea, women don't need to be saved by prince charming. The actresses are all very talented- very strong singing and acting capabilities, But the songs were quickly forgettable, and I would have been happier with a lot less swearing.

    Super Funny

by LaurenD2285 on 5/14/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This was a really good play. Each girl was funny (especially Cinderella and Rupunzel). It was funny how they have 21st century problems.
