    Top Drawer Production

by retiredmeg on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The stage production of Dirty Dancing was fast pace, transitions were seamless and followed the original movie beautifully. Had some added dialogue about the Freedom March I have always been a HUGE fan of Dirty Dancing and this production did not disappoint.

    Dirty Dancing

by wattsnaz on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Excellent performance! Sound was not up to par for this performance; we struggled to make out a lot of what was being said and we were in row O.

    Dirty Dancing

    by S370 on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

This was far more than I ever expected. The actors, the music, the backdrops, everything was perfect. I have told all my friends if this ever comes back to Tucson, they must see it.

    It was okay, not great

by Electraguard on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The sound needed work. It wasn't properly balanced through out the show. Some times the music would drown out the lyrics and dialogue. The dancing was good.

    Disappointing Dirty Dancing

by Savysu on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

We were very disappointed with this production. The dancing was only so-so, the singing not much better, the transitions were awkward and the person on the soundboard had trouble getting a balance between the musical background and the speakers. The music frequently drowned out the speakers. The 60's costuming was well done, however.

    Dirty Dancing Was Fun

by Judymm on 1/31/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Dirty Dancing was pretty true to the movie with some difference in dialogue. If you closed your eyes it was as though Baby and Johnny were right there with you from the movie. All in all we really enjoyed the play.

    Surprisingly Flat

by energybalancer on 1/30/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

This show surprised me. I have seen many Broadway shows, and have never been disappointed before. This show was flat. There was no chemistry between leads, or anyone else for that matter. The dancing was stiff, and lacked passion. The characters were mimicking the actors from the movie, rather than their characters. Why does Baby need an unnaturally curly wig just because Jennifer Grey has naturally curly hair? The set was overly technical, showing scenes from the movie as backdrop. The water scene was comical, with a dry bubble in the image for the actors. The pretend driving and car door closing sounds, were more in line with a high school production. I see live Broadway productions for the live theater experience. I can watch the movie at home if I wish. In comparison to Phantom of the Opera or Mamma Mia, this show does not even rank. Please keep Live Theater live.

Dirty Dancing was a fun show!

by CrazyforHim on 1/29/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Young adults and older all seemed to enjoy and got into the fun of it! We had a great time. The stage setting was simple but high tech imagery was effective and interesting. The two main vocalists did a great job.

    A little disappointing

by GdovinGirl on 1/29/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Centennial Hall, on the whole, needs to be revamped. Paying $100 per ticket only to be blocked from the main center stage by someone's head, is infuriating. Seating needs to be redone to stagger the rows more than a couple of inches and increase the incline. The production was lacking in the enthusiasm of the original. I realize the space constraints of the stage limited the number of dancers, but it could have been better used. The actor playing the "dad" seemed like he was bored. I applaud the stage designs and crew for seamless transitions and wonderful backdrops etc. Could not have been better! The main girl and guy singers were fabulous. However, I was left a little bored by the dance routines, costuming and singing otherwise. Wasn't worth the money I paid. Sorry.

    Fabulous dancing!

by Beachcities on 1/29/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Fun, beautiful voices and fabulous performers. An Enthusiastic and supportive crowd always makes Centennial Hall a special place! However, this location desparetly needs an upgrade. Using the ladies restrooms makes me question If I ever want to go back.

    Such a great show

    by Mimij296 on 1/28/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

This musical was great. Some of the parts added not in the movie were a little slow but it really was excellent overall. The man who played Johnny at our show really took on the mannerisms of the character Swayze played so well. The performers were mesmerizing to watch. Can't wait to see it again.

    Play poorly written

by Quni on 1/28/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Talent and special effects very good. The play is badly written, things like a song or dance, just stuck in hither and yon. Would never see this musical again. I'll stick to the movie

    Dirty Dancing, a must see!

by Aliceintheatrerland on 1/27/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Dirty Dancing is a must see, not to be missed production. My only negative would be that I didn't buy a more expensive ticket so I could enjoy the facial expressions that Baby made as reported to me by a friend that had a close up seat. I hope they return another time and I will surely be up front and personal! The cast was outstanding and Johnny's voice was so close to Patrick Swayze's that it was uncanny. Baby was perfect in her actions. Penny's leg extensions and moves were amazing as well as the other dancers. Such talent and such professionalism shown by all.

Was a lot of fun. More actual live songs would have been better but overall a great show.
