    Simply amazing

by Disebaru on 12/14/19House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

I've waited a good 14 years to see my favorite band live and they did not disappoint. I can only hope they come back so i can see them a second time and as much as possible. The only thing i do wish for next time is a chance for a meet and greet since i havent seen any tickets for that or any info on that matter but that would pretty much complete my life

The most amazing show to end 2019

by Connie on 12/14/19House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

Dir en grey took my breath away their performance was so great I wished it could’ve lasted forever, when they was on stage all I could think of was I hope the return in 2020. When Dir en grey have a show they don’t need an opening act they gave a phenomenal one band show, even if they was at the house of blues as the opening act they would still be way on top I really had a fabulous time.

    It was awesome

by Night on 12/14/19House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

Well it was an awesome show I will admit first time seeing Dir en Grey live and I hope they'll come back to Cleveland, Ohio again the visual were really dark and brutal but some parts were beautiful poetic and Kyo still hits them highs pitches to low guttural vocal ranges kinda of like King Diamond (still have yet to see King Diamond) but still it was a awesome show like everything they timed properly and they even played Merciless Cult and The World of Mercy

    Awesome Show!

by Biggs Darklighter on 12/13/19House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

It was a great show! So glad I saw them live! The whole group really gives it their all the entire time. Especially the vocalist Kyo, he puts so much emotion into every single song. Even when he stomped on his mic cords during The World of Mercy and had no mic for the last verse, he just threw the mic over his shoulder, stood on the front edge of the box he stands on and starting singing as loud as he could to finish the song. I could hear him from where I was near the soundboard!

    Aight

by Kain on 12/13/19House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

Dir En Grey was amazing as usual. They put on a great show. The HOB seemed to have overbooked the event though. There was no free space anywhere with the general admission tickets. Not necessarily a safe environment. The sound clarity was good but the volume could’ve been a bit louder. What seemed to be the biggest issue was the amount of people piled on top of each other and I understand it’s a metal concert but you need access to bars and merch and bathrooms ffs.

    Never a disappointment

by RaeShishano on 12/13/19House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

DIR EN GREY has been my favorite band for going on 15 years. I have seen them live one other time and they continue to amaze, excite and never disappoint. The energy and passion they continue to portray through live shows is no comparison to other concerts I have been to. I hope to see them again live soon.

Dir en Grey gave us one of the best shows I’ve seen this year. Maybe one of the best shows I’ve seen in many years. They were amazing.

by Ririlehmao on 11/10/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

It was a lot of fun c: and an amazing show, got a really good viewing spot and there was excellent refreshments and merchandise ~ make sure to have cash of course because theres nothing to accept cards with, but the show was unforgetable, the band is really amazing ^^ and i regret not going to see them sooner xD but i will be back. Theres also thrown stuff at the end like guitar picks and stuff, so be ready to jump and of course rock out with the crowd

    Best show of the year

by AshleyHanako on 11/9/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

Dir en Grey is an amazing band, there music is just so majestic and they perform very well. I really enjoyed this show I feel like the band members where more considerate to the crowd than most other bands I have seen. I liked how they all went around the stage so I got a good view of all the members at some point (except the drummer cuz you know he can't move). Also the crowd wasent too crazy and I'm a 5'2 110lb girl and I felt relatively fine in the crowd, I mean it wasn't anything I couldn't handle, so that was nice cuz I was able to enjoy the show. The venue was also pretty nice, but girls bathroom was really small so that was a downfall. Oh yeah n I also liked the fact that it was just Dir en Grey, there was no "surprise" opening bands that where not mentioned cuz it's kinda annoying when bands do that , like when you buy the tix it makes no mention of opening bands but once you show up there's a few performing. Also I thought it was cool that Dir en Grey had a greet and meet before the show, unfortunately I didn't arrive early enough to the venue to meet them but I still think that was really cool of them to let people go take pictures with them.

    Dir en grey

by Anonymous on 11/9/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

There was a last minute time change, that shortened the show by an hour. The show was nothing like what was posted from other 2015 shows.

Dir en grey at The Mayan

by Birds0ng on 11/8/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

The band was great, the sound was great, the venue had a really cool vibe true to its name. Only complaint was the relatively short list of beers available, and they were pricey, but I knew what I was getting into seeing a concert in downtown LA.

    Screaming Catharsis

by Brenli on 11/8/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

Faced with the realization that I would not be in the pit (due to my company's knee injury), in the thick of it, turning into a lion woman and roaring, I knew that this time was going to have a slightly different air to it… But I didn’t dislike it~ In prior ‘reports’, I talk about finding myself in different ‘areas’ or 'lands’, but this way… I was everywhere. Able to take in the whole picture of them, and the ways that they fit against each other. Kyo, with his theatrics bordering on the manic, tempered on both sides by Die’s warm charm and Toshiya’s flirtatious energy… and he, in turn, tempered on his right by Kaoru’s confident calm. And then Shinya, behind Kyo, full of wild physicality that is kept behind his drum kit, his firm energy carefully contained where Kyo’s is explosive. As a relevant aside, I want to point out that being able to actually see them ALL perform meant that I could finally see SHINYA perform. In all of my previous shows, I’ve been in Kyoland, Totsland, and Kaostarland, but have not yet made it into Diestarland, which from what I can tell would be the only place you could get any kind of view of Shinya. Drummers don’t typically get much attention… but Shinya is one who certainly deserves it. So full of pounding aggression, but released only as far as his drums, and that’s not any kind of negative thing. To the percussion-focused, he’s a show all in himself. And in a way, his music feels like a reflection of the way he carries himself - Self-composed, contained, but that means there’s something TO contain, in the first place. Which sounds horribly controversial; I don’t mean it that way. XD I mean it in the way a gentle man keeps strong beats inside of himself; I mean it in the way he keeps his smiles a bit shy. (I mean it in the way that, when asked what his favorite Starbucks drink was, he pauses before saying it’s cocoa… only to take to his social media and tagramble about whether Starbucks even has cocoa in the FIRST place… and it does, Shinya. It does. XD) But from that balcony, I could see all the pieces of them, all at once, instead of only seeing a few of them. Like seeing art, I could view the picture in full. I’m not going to say this is something that couldn’t be achieved somewhere in the pit, but. For me, at least, it’s the difference between seeing something in wide view, and seeing something in clear and crisp detail. I have my preferences, but I can appreciate that my spot at the balcony gave me something my prior experiences did not. That instead of only seeing Kaoru or Toshiya raise their hands, I could see all of them do it, reaching up while I reached down and screamed and howled. And about screaming and howling… when we first went up to that balcony, I had the feeling that I would be doing a lot of sitting beside my poor Honey. And it started that way… until they came out on onstage, one by one, playing “and Zero” (which to date is my very favorite instrumental intro of theirs oh JEEBUSSSSS). It was instinct to stand, and at least I wasn’t the only one to do so… though I think that in my general little area of the balcony, I was the only one who stayed standing for the entire show. I couldn’t help it. It’s in my blood to stay standing for who I’ve come to see. It’s in my nature to sing along, and to scream out in long howls, to throw up my hands and to headbang in a way that rolls all the way to my boots. It’s who I am, and I can’t and won’t apologize for that. Even if it means I stick out sorely amongst those in my immediate vicinity. About sticking out sorely - somewhere in the middle of “C”, singing out “Dead freedom!” it struck me that I was still partaking in the catharsis. I was still stripped to the soul. It was just different, because now I had air all around me instead of flesh. The mutual, general aggression of the pit wasn’t stripping me down, I was stripping myself down. In some ways, that actually felt kind of lonely…? But in others, I think that it was powerful in a new way. After all, it takes a certain caliber to allow yourself this kind of release when you feel like you are the only one in your corner doing so. It takes a certain bravery. The night ended rather quickly, and I keep wondering if that’s some kind of effect from not being in the pit, this time. Fast forward to now, and apart from some general lethargy, I feel completely normal. I’m not scraped up or bruised… it’s habit for me to wear those kinds of concert wounds with a twisted kind of pride, but on the other hand, I still remember how my leg got so badly bruised at the Age Quod Agis show that I had to literally HOBBLE around for like 2 days afterward. All things considered… I have an appreciation for what there is to be gained from hanging back, now. But at the same time… I know where I prefer to be, and I hope that whenever their next tour happens, I’ll be back in that pit, sweating and screaming and enduring and being so very, very alive, smashed against others who are doing the same. I also hope that next time, I finally get to hear them perform “Kodou” live. This makes FOUR shows and I still haven’t heard them perform my favorite song live!!! It’s KILLING me! XD

    Awesome

by Clads on 11/8/15Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

Great show, the band knows how to play live. Kyo showed his sensual side with his lightly waving hands and body movement. The venue had awesome blue and red lights as well.
