DIANA KRALL IN CONCERT

Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Diana Krall grew up on Vancouver Island in the western part of Canada and began studying the piano when she was four years old. By the time she was 15, she was playing jazz in local restaurants and bars.

Ms. Krall was still a teenager when she was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. After two years in Boston she moved to Los Angeles, where she first me her Jazz influences, including John Clayton, pianist/singer Jimmy Rowles, and Ray Brown, the legendary bassist who served as her musical mentor (and played on Only Trust Your Heart). Ms. Krall had lived in Los Angeles for three years when she then moved to Toronto, and it was a Canadian label that gave her a chance to record for the first time. In 1993, the Montreal-based Justin Time Records released her debut album, Stepping Out. In 1994, she signed with GRP and recorded Only Trust Your Heart, which featured Brown on bass and Stanley Turrentine on tenor saxophone and marked the beginning of her association with Tommy LiPuma (who has worked with everyone from Barbra Streisand to George Benson).

Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. To date, her albums have garnered five Grammy® Awards, 10 Juno® Awards and have also earned nine gold, three platinum and seven multi-platinum albums. Krall's unique artistry transcends any single musical style and has made her one of the most recognizable and beloved artists of our time.

  • Phenomenal! Elegant, Classy and Beautiful!

The acoustics were amazing and the passion with which Diana sang and played was moving. It’s always a pleasure to see her!

  • A magical evening

by Diana Krall on 7/14/25Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I love Diana Krall. She played in a trio (bass, drums, piano) in Atlanta without a guitar. But her voice constitutes an instrument, so I guess it was a quartet. I know some people prefer more of a pop concert but I love the long solo riffs from the talented musicians she has with her. I wish people would stop wandering around like it is some kind of 3 day jazz fest when she is performing in a concert hall. I just closed my eyes and listened - the acoustics were great.

if you have never seen Diana Krall, and you want to see an amazing jazz concert ... GO. we were very luck to see her at the Symphony hall in Atlanta - excellent acoustics where you hear every note - clearly. fantastic playlist, the bass + percussion players are amazing jazz musicians in their own right.

  • As talented as ever!

by Lex on 7/9/25The Dome - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The VA Beach Dome is one of the nicest venues I’ve ever been in and Dianna Krall was amazing and as talented as ever! I would 100% go see her again!

  • Sensational!

Marvelous show, thanks for the encore! Great sound.

  • Absolutely loved her!

I wasn't impressed with all the alcohol served at the venue. It distracted from the experience. She appeared at The Dome

  • Strange

by Jan on 7/8/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve seen Diana a number of times. This time she was whispering into the microphone. Her voice was very low and she was whispering her songs. It was odd that she did not sing or croon, but she whispered and spoke the lyrics. I was wondering if there was a problem with the sound system

  • Amazing Evening

by Rita G. on 7/8/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Diana Krall in concert did not disappoint. Her piano playing was flawless, her supporting musicians, stand up bass player and drummer (and I apologize that I do not remember their names) were phenomenal and her beautiful renditions of the classics (Irving Berlin, Count Basie, Tony Bennett, etc.) to Bob Dylan's "Queen Jane"and the Band's "Ophelia"were all her own. But the kicker was the encore and her unspoken tribute to Brian Wilson. For her encore she walked back on stage and without a word sat down at the piano and played the most beautiful, haunting rendition of "In My Room". She took a bow and silently walked off stage. My husband and I were bawling and both get choked up remembering it days later. Thank you Diana!

  • We were a little disappointed.

by Jack on 7/8/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 3 out of 5

We’ve been big fans of Diana Krall for a long time, so when she came to a nearby venue we jumped on tickets. She always tours with at least a drummer, bass player and guitarist, but this time the guitarist was missing. The roadys had set up a chair for him in his usual spot, but he never showed up and she didn’t explain his absence. It left the overall sound kind of hollow. So yeah, a little disappointing.

  • The best performance

by Harry on 7/8/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

With her first voice, I was moved in Diana’s world. Great session with her team. This must go next if in NY/NJ area. Thank you Diana and team for wonderful night

  • Underwhelming unfortunately

by R Michael on 7/8/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 3 out of 5

Underwhelming too much focus on the bass player, I wasn't there to hear him as good as he was I was there to hear Diana Krall. She was okay but played what I considered more progressive jazz favorites I like it better when she plays more upbeat music so overall I was disappointed I had seen her previously in a shorter performance and she was much better. I will say I do love how she plays the piano.

  • Non stop entertainment!

by Tbc on 6/28/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Weather was hot but the music was hotter! Diana sang for an hour and 45 minutes without a break regardless of the heat. Bass and drum accompaniment were fabulous as well. A truely enjoyable performance, so glad we braved the heat!

  • Great facility bland performer

by Scott on 6/28/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5

The upgrades to Everwise are fantastic. Diana Krall, on the other hand was not. I love listening to her music but she appeared to be phoning it on during her concert. She was incredibly lethargic and slow moving except for when she decided to do her own jazz riffs during the songs. She had zero engagement with the audience and seemed like she would rather be anywhere else but on stage. Which is a shame because I have loved listening to her for years but as a concert performer, she should stick to the recording studio.

  • Sweet jazz on a summer night.

by Chuckles on 6/28/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent vocal and piano interpretations across several genres. Great interplay with seasoned jazz rhythm section with generous space for well executed solos.

  • Jazz 'l do

by Frank the Tank on 6/27/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Crazy good show if brilliant Jazz jam works for you. I have read a number of negative reviews of Ms. Krall's concerts recently and either this was an exceptional night or the comments that maybe some are expecting a different type of performance are on point. What I witnessed was full of subtle passion and virtuoso flair. I only wish the vibe with the audience would have allowed for more dancing. Loved the show, thank you, thank you Diana Krall!

  • Krall doesn't translate on stage

by Beth on 6/27/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 1 out of 5

Gee, 2nd worst concert in my life. Krall had little energy, little engagement with the audience and was sleep walking through the concert. So was the audience. Many left early including me and my partner. That was the biggest waste of money we have spent in a many a decade. Too bad, because she translates well on a CD, but too sedate for a big venue.

  • A great talent of my lifetime

by Mayo on 6/27/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

First time I experienced the venue. Concert was amazing especially the sound. Diana Krall and her band were simply amazing. Unfortunately it was an extremely HUMID evening so it was quite uncomfortable to sit through. I was very disappointed with the outrageous prices of food and drink.

  • Great night of jazz by a great performer

by Rickyd on 6/26/25Stifel Theatre - Saint LouisRating: 4 out of 5

This was a very good show, exactly what I expected. Diana was in great form and her 3 piece band was tight and cohesive. Wish she would have played longer, but it was still a warm wonderful night of jazzy originals and covers.
