Dermot Kennedy on Tour
Folk singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy has quickly taken the world by storm, rising from a small town in Ireland to release a number of charting singles as well as work with revered musicians and producers like Glen Hansard and Mike Dean (Kanye West, Travis Scott). In 2017, the dynamic performer went on the U.S. festival circuit and played Lollapalooza, South by Southwest, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, making an international name for himself with his high-energy shows. The following year, he went on a world tour and played shows in the U.S., Australia and Europe, hitting Coachella and also playing an NPR Tiny Desk Concert after being voted NPR Slingshot Best New Artist of the Year. Kennedy's live shows flesh out his intimate tunes with a full band, bringing the audience fully inside his expressive songs. Kennedy's tour in 2019 took him across multiple continents as he incorporated tracks from his sophomore album, Without Fear, into his set.

Born in 1991 in Ireland, Kennedy was attracted to music at a young age, picking up a guitar at 10 and taking the plunge into songwriting a few years later, at 14. Before long, Kennedy was performing at open mics around Dublin; eventually he found himself busking — playing music on the street for money — in cities around the world. After high school, he studied classical music at the university level for a few years, but ultimately decided to pursue folk music. Kennedy's big break came when he won first place in a major upset at the South County Song Contest at St. Finian's GAA Club, putting him on the radar of industry professionals and singer-songwriters around the world.
After he self-published on Spotify, some of Kennedy's music found its way onto Discover Weekly playlists, which helped him get noticed by a wider audience. His first charting single, "Young & Free," reached No. 82 on the Irish Singles Chart, but his breakthrough came with 2018's "Power Over Me," which reached No. 10 on the Irish Singles Chart, No. 21 on the U.S.'s Hot Rock Songs and No. 5 on Adult Alternative. "Power Over Me" has since been certified gold. Kennedy signed to Interscope and, in January 2019, released his self-titled debut album, which hit No. 5 on the Irish charts.
I had heard of Dermot, but was not overly familiar with all his music. This concert was amazing. Music is relatable, engaging and Dermot is an incredibly talented musician. A must see act!

This was my second time seeing DK. Just as before he was an incredible performer. There’s not a second he’s onstage that you’re not completely engaged in everything.
I was wondering about the experience of such an intimate artist in a big venue but the way the stage was set up made it perfect and transformed an arena in an intimate venue. Dermot Kennedy performed as you would think he would and made it a perfect night!
He’s my favorite artist and he did not disappoint. I’ve been to some great concerts of some major artists and he outdone them all. Such a powerful singer. I can’t wait to try and see him again.
I have seen Dermot twice in person and has not failed to amaze me. He has a raw talent that cannot be compared to another artist; truly unique and an amazing experience.
I want to see him in March In Glasgow and my wee girl loved it was her First Concert.She loved it she wants to go back and see him so kid friendly and the staff were so nice and Dermot Kennedy was outstanding defo go back and see him !
We got to hear a mixture of older music and new music and a song that was released shortly before… he has a beautiful way of singing to his audience! So good live! The color and visuals were great! Singing along and hearing everyone else sing with him is an experience! I would love to go again! Such an amazing time! We got to sightsee a bit before the concert too since we got to the city early. Love making these kind of memories with my kids!
This concert was exactly what I wanted as a supporter of his music. He delivered great vocals during young & free, went off on the guitar during after rain, and pulled on our heartstrings during Rome/innocence and sadness. No lip syncing, great backup vocals during songs like Glory, the band was sweet. I would totally see him again!
Dermot Kennedy is an exceptional singer, and performer. The production was amazing he kept his energy all the way through and sang every song with passion. It’s so much better in person and I can not recommend enough to go.

This was a GREAT concert! Dermot did not disappoint! He really got the crowd involved and was so nice and genuine, he played so many songs, I really had an awesome time and can't wait to go to more of his shows!
Dermot Kennedy was everything I could have hoped for and more. He was every bit as good live as he is recorded, encouraged audience participation in his songs, and seemed truly humble. Can't wait for the next time I get to see him!
I obviously knew how great he sounded on his albums but I was completely blown away by his voice in person. What a troubadour!! He's singing so hard that I fear his voice won't last! What a great concert. Excellent entertainer.
This was the best concert. Dermot’s voice is pure perfection. He sang for the entire set with so much depth, imagination and energy. We enjoyed every moment.
Dermot is always an incredible show. He puts his heart into every performance and you can see that his passion for what he does is real and what drives him. I had never been to The Anthem before and enjoyed the experience. So glad I went! I also really enjoyed his opener!
