Great energy, light show, like listening to the original LP.
I saw Def Leppard for my first time bucket list. On a very hot night and jammed for 2 hours. They said it was one of their hottest gigs ever. This band gels, the boys having some fun pleasing the 15,000 plus in attendance. It was a great show, they sounded great and shredded on the guitars and drums. What a band and what a great show! Joe Elliot can still rock it and sounds great
YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE A STATE FAIR IN THE HOTTEST MONTH OF THE YEAR!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THE BAND WAS GREAT, ALMOST PASSED OUT FROM HEAT. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS STATE FAIR EVER AGAIN.
I've seen Def Leppard several times and this show was amazing as always, even though the temperature was boiling hot. My big issue was that the Grandstand staff did not start letting people in until an hour before the show started. The lines were super long, and most people did not get into the venue until the opening band was almost finished. Most venues start letting people in a couple of hours before showtime, doing so here would have guaranteed everyone were in their seats by the start of the concert.
By far one of the best shows! Def Leppard rocked the house for 2 hours in sweltering heat!
DefLeppard was awesome, wonderful, on point! You name the positive adjectives and they hit them all. We NEVER miss them when they are in our area, and sometimes travel to where they play. They would be a great fit for the Sphere in Vegas!
Def Leppard is my all time favorite band from the 80s. It was amazing to finally see them live. I drove down from Chicago to see them. Although it was blistering and miserably hot, it was worth every penny. They still sound great. Phil Collen on guitar was phenomenal. They really rocked it out. I am grateful to have been a part of this wonderful crowd. The venue and screens were great.
It had been many (many) years since I saw a band at this venue (Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult—sometime in the 80s or 90s). Sound quality at outdoor venues is always suspect. I was concerned about it not being loud enough. Bass was accentuated through exciters or something that makes one “feel” it. Which is great. But in this case it really drowned out and distorted other levels (mid-range, vocals). It became somewhat annoying to what otherwise was a great show. Since these sorts of equipment is permanently installed (that is, not part of the band’s equipment or soundboard), I’m guessing this is a problem that persists at any performance at this venue. Friends of ours were seated center of stage but also under the canopy and heard similar issues.
Def Leppard was amazing! Very tempted to go and see them in Vegas. The venue was not the greatest. The organizer was not very organized. The lines to get into the venue were all over the place with barely any order. Since it was approaching 100 degrees concert goer patience was put to a test.
Great show by a great band. Venue was nice but not organized with entry into the venue.
Def Leopard puts on a great show. I saw them last summer in Busch Stadium, St. Louis and loved it. But, this venue was awful for a crowd this big. Because of the layout at the track the crowd is about 5 times wider than it is deep, so if you’re not close to the middle in front of the stage the sound and acoustics are awful. We had general admission which was standing room only on the dirt track which allowed us to get a decent spot, but it was still very crowded and dirty.
Def Leppard was excellent!! We rocked out all night!!! Love, love, love them!!
DL put on a spectacular show! It had to be 95 degrees on that stage at the Illinois State Fairgrounds! So much energy! Wear some concert quality earplugs or we will all be “DEF”. And Joe needs to really take care of his voice or he will be like Bon Jovi! I gave Joe a stuffed leopard. He really loved it, I have him bowing with gratitude to me on video. No regrets in seeing my favorite band 45 years later! Love reliving Hysteria album!! They are definitely the Rock of Ages!
The venue: Not bad. We did the pre-show party and it was listed that we would have early access to the pit/GA, we did not. Doors were scheduled to open at 7pm and it was around 7:20 before we were let in. The show: The opening act was pretty good but they played for an hour....it was SO HOT and the crowd was getting restless....a shorter performance would have been great. Def Leppard started at 9:30 and played until around 11:10 and they were ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. They said they would be back....we will as well!!!!!!!!
Long lines to get in-first act started before you could get in! Hot as heck and you had to stand in long line inside for a wristband. They could have handed them outside while you were in line. Then a long line to buy tickets for water spade or alcohol. Then go stand in lines for non alcoholic or alcohol drinks…in a place with no fans to circulate air!!! I was sick from heat!!! Horrible venue. Illinois fair needs to visit other concert venues and learn!!! Not a way to treat people in 104 heat index!
Despite the heat, was a great experience. Def Leppard put on a great performance. Loved getting to see them perform again. Hopefully will get another chance to see them in the future
Great concert! The sound was phenomenal and the show was perfect
The concert was outstanding, but the ticket buying experience sucked, outrageous price through Ticket one, then no transportation home had to walk 2.9 miles back to Hotel. Could not get a Lift,U er or taxi service.

I saw Def Leppard on the Hysteria Tour back in the day. I loved the in-the-round-sound and action. This tour sounded even better than I remember that original concert. They did a great job with graphics too. I especially loved the song Photograph with pictures of them over the years. This concert is now my favorite large arena concert ever.
