About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

  • Def Leppard is awesome!!

by Fitmom3 on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the concert. I did not love the venue. It was hard to get in to park, we had to walk a long ways to get to the grandstand, then there was no real direction on how to get in and long lines. We thought we’d have plenty if time but got in just as the first band started. Then the seats were so close together and it was so hot everyone was sweating all over their neighbor. We saw Def Leppard at Busch Stadium last year and it was an awesome venue.

by Gail on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

We had a very long wait in the scorching heat/sun for hours. We were in the front row on the rail for the entire concert!! I had been wanting to see Def Leppard for years but could never get the date to workout of afford tickets having 4 kids!! They were amazing, met all of my expectations!! I for sure got ROCKED!!

  • Def Leppard still rocks the house !!

by Lainer on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Def Leppard is one of my fav rock bands and they never fail to give their all to the audience!! They always appreciate the fans and show it on every song performance!! The opening band tho Phil X and the Drillers was not good at all — put heavy metal and the F bomb word in every sentence when the lead singer spoke - that does nothing to impress me - I predict they won’t last long as a band. They should take a lesson from Def Leppard and concentrate on the quality of music more in my opinion! Def Leppard keep on rockin’ !

  • Great Show!

by Mikie on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show! Will see them again if I have a chance.

  • Hot, hot HOT haha.

by JMS on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 4 out of 5

Man it was a warm but no one could do anything about that. I had a blast! Def Leppard and Phil rocked the house. I can now say I've seen Dep Leppard live and that's pretty damn cool. I'm gonna give it 4 because the side banners on the stage obstructed a lot of the view. Other than the side banners on the stage all was well.

  • Hot Hot Hot

by AndyB on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Def Leppard was, as always, awsome live. Super tight band playing hit after hit after hit. The band sounded great, the sound system was fantastic. The light show was really cool. Got well done in the grandstand. 2 hours at about 225 degrees, I was like an Easter ham! Loved it, let's roll it back next summer!

  • Amazing Band!

by PrincessT on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

GREAT concert. The venue could have been better with respect to access to water and restrooms, but the band was amazing!

  • Def Leppard never disappoints!

by Great concert! on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Despite the heat at the Illinois State Fair grandstand venue, Def Leppard put on a great show. They sound just as good as they ever have!

  • They gave 100% percent. I was impressed.

by Lori on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding performance m very engaged with the audience. Would love to see them again.

  • Def Leppard ROCKS at State Fair!!!

by Neal on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Def Leppard ABSOLUTELY rocked the IL State Fair!!! Had always wanted to see them for decades. Joe could still hit the high notes! Felt bad for opening act Phil X and the Drills they killed it but the crowd just wanted Def Leppard. Phil can shred on the guitar!!!

  • Average

by Kent on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 3 out of 5

Band played great but the sound was horrible! Plus the venue was super disorganized. I will never got back to the Illinois State fair for a concert. You have to pay concert tickets plus pay to get into the park.

  • 💯 Awesome

by First Rock Concert on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

The weather was very hot, but had the best experience and loved seeing Def Leppard live. Wish I would have done it sooner.

  • great experience

by CSchroyer on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show!!. With the hot, hot temperature on day of concert, it was truly a great show they put on.

  • Seating terrible

by Sean on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 2 out of 5

Yes the music was great seating was terrible pricing was very expensive for it didn't want to go to a concert that had bench stadium seating that was not comfortable for two and a half hours disabled veteran with back problems is not good the height of where we had to sit was too steep to climb the TV screens for the sides of where people can't see the main stage was too few and too small should have more and bigger TVs for the ones that can't see the stage. And pricing should be way less than a hundred bucks a person.

  • Absolutely PHENOMENAL concert!

by JennCell84 on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

These guys do NOT disappoint! It was over 100 degrees at the venue and they still killed it. I would see them again in a heart beat!

  • Still rocking

by Chuck on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

These guys only get better with age and even though it was hot as all get out that night, they still brought the thunder.
