About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

  • Def Leppard concert

by HIHO on 8/29/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Well we got to the fairgrounds and it was pouring down rain so we waited for a while and we finally walked in which we had to walk a mile and to kind of go back before I left my house I had fallen and I know now but I have broke my foot so we walked a mile to get from the parking lot into the fairgrounds and then we got something to eat and went to the stadium where are seats were we had to climb 62 stairs to get to our seats so we get up to our seats then everybody says let's go down and get a drink and go to the bathroom and it's everything was a line so we had to wait in line we got a drink and went to the bathroom I went back up and we ended up picking some seats that nobody were there and the bad thing was that there was a pole right in front of us so we two of us had to lean to look at the concert but Def Leppard put on a awesome show they played just like they did before back in the '80s I definitely would recommend going to see them if you like that kind of music then we had to walk a mile back to the car so my experience was a lot of walking seats were terrible which I didn't know but Def Leppard put on an awesome concert in the first band wasn't that good

  • Def Leppard is like a fine wine, the older the better

by Wolfie on 8/25/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Def Leppard at Springfield Illinois state fair was an awesome concert!! They have not lost a step at all. Took my teenage son and as we left he said "it was best concert he had gone to yet". They commanded the audience from the first song that was sung. They had complete aaudience participation the entire concert.

  • déjà vu!!!

by Unclevroomvroom on 8/24/25Isleta Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Def Leppard back in '92, and have always loved their music. Front row center section in 2025 with my beautiful wife of 26 years. What a great experience!! I wish I knew about VIP meet and greets, though. That would have made the experience perfect. Oh well, it was amazing anyway. Rock on!!

  • Good - but too short

by Medic2762 on 8/21/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 4 out of 5

Def Leppard provided top-notch music. I've never heard a band so "tight"and the sound was incredible. It was very clear and well mixed. I watched the show from two different points and even in the cheap seats way up top and off to the side, the sound was still excellent. However, I have two issues with the show. One is that the show seemed rather "clinical"or "surgically precise"in the flow. In the parts of the show I was able to see, they moved from one element to the next with only a little bit of talk between songs. Now, I'm not looking for a 5 minute break between songs where they digress about everything, but in many cases, it was - song finishes - lights out - three seconds - the lights burst on and the next song. Lastly, I feel it was too short. The set lasted about 90 minutes, including the encore. Most bands will play in the neighborhood of 120 minutes. That could have included 5 more great Def Leppard classics. Not sure if they were up against a curfew of 11pm local time or not, but if that's the case, shorten the opening act and start earlier to get in 120 ish minutes of classic rock!

  • Fantastic show!!

by Robyn on 8/20/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

My first time seeing Def Leppard was April 1st, 1983, when they opened up for Billy Squire at the UIC pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. That was one of the best concerts I had ever been to! I have seen them many times throughout the years since, and they NEVER disappoint! I am 65 years old, still enjoying them live after all these years and will continue to see them live for as long as I am able!

  • Amazing show!

The heat was brutal, enough to melt The Butter cow!! But that didn't phase Def Leppard!! Illinois brought the heat and the Leppard brought the hits. A great time was had by all!! 4 stars would definitely recommend 👌🏻

by Starsky79 on 8/20/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert! I’ve seen Def Leppard three times and this was definitely the best of the three. Not to say anything negative about the other two but this band is hitting on all cylinders.

  • Def Leppard still rocks!!!

  • Def Leppard Rocks!!!

by Neicer on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

The concert at The Illinois State Fair was most excellent. I did have trouble getting my ticket to come to my phone, till I decided to go to the ticket office. Then it magically loaded. I don't know my Google wallet pin , so could not use it, unfortunately. Gonna work on that before the next show.

  • The Best 🤘

  • Chaos and theft

by Jade on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 2 out of 5

There was zero structure when you lined up to go through your gate. Workers would tell you to wait wherever and other patrons became upset being "cut in line"and we never received our brigade extras that were purchased.

  • Humid

by Amy P H on 8/19/25Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - SpringfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Other then the usual Illinois heat and humidity, they sounded great and put on a great show!! Loved it!
