Death Cab for Cutie was formed in Bellingham, WA in 1997 and almost immediately entered the ranks of the era's definitive bands, fueled in large part by the remarkable power of co-founder, lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Benjamin Gibbard's complex, often bittersweet songcraft. The band made their worldwide popular breakthrough with 2003's RIAA Platinum certified Transatlanticism, later named by NPR as one of "The Decade's 50 Most Important Recordings." Plans, their 2005 Atlantic Records debut, saw Death Cab for Cutie ascending to even greater heights, earning RIAA platinum certification and a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Alternative Album" while spawning the chart-topping singles, "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," and "I Will Follow You into the Dark," the latter of which was honored with a GRAMMY® nod for "Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocals."

Both Death Cab and Postal Service sounded great! Plenty of restrooms and food and drink spots. Had a great time!
This show was completely worth the 4 1/2 hour plane ride. It was all I could have hoped for!
One of the best nights of my life. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Quite simply this was the most perfect and amazing concert I’ve ever been to in my life. I don’t think anything else can top it. These are both bands in my top 10 all time and the fact that they played together and did the 20 year anniversary was simply breathtaking. I am so happy I could witness this.
I saw Death Cab For Cutie at the Edgefield in Portland, Oregon this summer. Was a great show. All three bands at Climate Change Arena were great, but... the sound was not. It just reminds me how lame arena concert sound tends to be compared to outdoor shows or venues made to host music. I remembered back to seeing Rush twice in the same arena, and that the sound was terrible back then. Too bad you have to spend so much $$$ for Arena bad sound. Especially when it has nothing to do with the quality of the bands performing.
Amazing venue, amazing set. Couldn't ask for more from a hometown band. Will be back for more 💯🖤
The Beths opened it up with a blazing fantastic set. Death Cab next with flawless execution of Transatlanticism . Then The Postal Service closed it up with again, another flawless performance. Ben Gibbard hasn’t lost a step. The Venue (climate pledge arena) is great. Easy to navigate, comfy seats and very friendly nad helpful staff. My only real complaint is the drinks will require to take out a second mortgage in your home if you want to have more than 1-2 beers.
Loved seeing Death Cab and the Postal Service! Climate Pledge was a good venue and our seats weren't great but we could see the screens and the stage (from afar) and the acoustics were good which is what really matters. Pretty comfy aside from the super tall man bumping the back of my seat with his legs periodically. Easy to Uber to/from the arena. Lots of food and drink options.
Holy moly, macaroni! WHAT. A. SHOW. Definitely worth the 20 years I waited. Ben still has it. Jenny Lewis was amazing. Jimmy Tamborello was incredible. It was a 10/10
Amazing, nostalgic, and overall the best show I’ve ever been to!
Death Cab and Postal Service were amazing!! I am honestly looking into going to see them again on the tour. Incredible music, vibe and overall show!
The venue was beautiful, clean. The staff were great. The show was sooo perfect, I couldn’t believe how wonderful it was to hear those tracks performed live. I loved the apparent enthusiasm and joy that the band was exuding. The crowd was full of joy, able to sing along with all the words. Incredible night. Truly a dream come true of my younger self.
I can’t begin to describe how good this show was…so I won’t. I will just tell you that DCFC and The Postal Service are not “album bands” meaning what you hear on the album is what you’re going to here live. Ben’s voice is just as spectacular in person as you hear on the albums.
Show was great, all artists involved put on an amazing performance. MGM Fenway isn’t my favorite venue but the sound was good
The show was terrific. I've been a fan for 20 years and here was the 20 year anniversary tour of DCFC and Postal Service. DCFC played first and did Transatlanticism in its entirety. Not my favorite Death Cab album, but enjoyable nonetheless. Sound and playing were crisp. Postal Service did Give Up in its entirety. Thoroughly enjoyable and admittedly better than DCFC... at least for one night. Encores and joint playing at the end were fun and cool. Only critique is of the venue (MGM Fenway). Brand new, great layout and sound with one exception; 3 bars on the first floor and no Men's Room. There is one Men's room on the second floor and the line for it was longer than the merchandise table. This needs to be rethought or I need to tea total at future shows.
Fantastic energy, fantastic songs, I never knew that all I needed in life was to see Ben Gibbard singing while playing the drums.
The show was what I would expect, nothing more. Ben played amazing with both sets/albums. I was just disappointed because it felt like the bare minimum effort was put in for the show. Both albums were played through, 2 encores (one of which was just an acoustic version of a song previously played in the show) and they exited the stage. Tickets were not cheap by any means, so I was hoping for a few extra songs before they called it a night.
The sound and acoustics continue to be a problem at this venue and often ruin an otherwise great performance.
The Cross Arena in Portland Maine has horrible acoustics. If you are not on the floor or lowest bowl seats the sound is muddy. The bands were excellent but I wish the sound mix was better.
Just the best entertainer and band so much fun and the lead singer and his back up are so talented
