About

DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:

Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

    Blown away

    by TJStet79 on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Dead & Co went above and beyond on these shows. It’s hard to put into words the playing is tight and synced up to the visuals they do on the Sphere screen. It’s amazing. Videos do not do it justice. It was a religious experience for this Dead Head. After seeing this 3 show run. I’m coming back again in August to see more.

    Blown away!

by JohnnyG on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

I was here (as in, on earth) when Dead and Company arrived on the music scene -- wasn't my bag. Or so I thought! Here's the deal: - the music is different than I expected! Jam band, mellow, soulful, melodic! My loss but at least I am catching up! - John Mayer is at home! I ve seen John 78 times (I know, it's a problem) -- I ve never seen him smile as much! He seems really happy in Dead Co., and of course, he may well be the best guitarist alive today, imo! - the visual effects and sound/acoustics are the best I've ever heard in any venue anywhere! - The sphere is like being on a ride at Disney! I was completely blown away! - 18,000+ happy patrons for the music. Not one person yelling, arguing, pushing, shoving or anything unpleasant -- an exceptional happy, friendly, loving crowd! We are already planning our return in August!

The music and show was incredible.

by JEinVegas on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

While we enjoyed the show, the seats seats that we originally purchased were terrible. DO NOT purchase the “obstructed view” seats unless they are at a DEEP DISCOUNT!! You miss so much of the Sphere and the show.

    Grateful I Attended

by Newbie on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Okay, Deadheads - I'm age 60 and have never seen the Dead or Dead & Company. I've seen hundreds of other artists over the years and normally from the pit, so am comparing to the experiences of the Stones in 1980, Springsteen over the years and Queen with Freddie Mercury. While this show was different in flavor and I wondered if I could stand for hours in the pit listening to extended versions of songs I didn't know well in the first place, I must say this show ranks easily in my Top Ten. First of all, the Sphere is incredible and saw U2 there in February - huge plus when extended jams are surrounded by unbelievable graphics. Secondly, the jams themselves were well paced and with a player like John Mayer always moving and never stagnant. The only advice I would give is that seeing U2 in the pit was totally different in that Bono and crew were constantly interacting and even down in the crowd behind the barrier. The Dead are more stagnant in their ability to move around and I would grab seats in the 200 or 300 (beware 100 "limited view"seats as they're worthless!) to see the scope of the visuals - a rare case where its better to have some distance from the artists on stage in favor of the big picture, so to speak. Overall a great show!

Dead at the Sphere. Lifetime experIence

by Todd p on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Absolutely amazing. Visuals are amazing and the band sounded great. Bobby was on point and John Mayer continues to show how much he is made for this band. Guitar work is amazing. Drums and space solo in the sphere is indescribable and how you can “feel the drums” Saw two shows and only wish I could see all of them

    Jaw dropping!

by Jackk on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Three words: You. Must. Go. Perhaps the most incredible sensory experience you will have set to the iconic songs of one of the best bands touring today. I can't say it any better. GO! I promise you will not be disappointed. Sat in section 305, clearly the best viewing angle in the place.

by Soundplus on 6/3/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Go just go. It will make your life better. I tried to explain what I saw and heard to friends but words just can’t do it. Maybe the feeling you have before, during and for many days after is why you should go.

    FANtastic Show

by NADN on 6/2/24Sphere - Las Vegas

The Sphere is the perfect place for Dead & Co. The visuals were amazingly creative and very fun! The montage tribute to Bill Walton was moving and appropriate ending to another memorable Dead show. I have plenty of negatives to say about the constant release of additional seats in the weeks leading up to the show. That's a different story.

They aren't playing enough different videoeo

by Hal on 6/2/24Sphere - Las Vegas

I must admit.I expected a lot more out of the video. They basically have one night's worth of videos and as we all know dead and company do 3 different nights of material so I expected new stuff for 3 nights and did not get it.

I was never a “Dead Head” back in the day, but yeah, it was “the featured show” so we went!! We loved it! Super fun and retro in many unexpected ways. It was indeed an experience and I cannot wait to come back and see “Postcards”, and whatever else is showing! :)
