David Spade on Tour
David Spade is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, talk show host, and television personality with razor-sharp sarcasm that will leave you in stitches. He's best known for his performances on "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) and hilariously endearing role in Joe Dirt (2001) -- a film he both starred in and co-wrote. Other box office hits from Spade's film career include popular titles like Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003), The Benchwarmers (2006), Grown Ups (2010), Grown Ups 2 (2013), and The Do Over (2016). In 2020, he was a People's Choice Award nominee for Favorite Comedy Movie Star in the film The Wrong Missy (2020). On the small screen, Spade received one Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations for his work playing the wise-cracking assistant, Dennis Finch, in the American sitcom "Just Shoot Me!" He also starred in the beloved CBS comedy "Rules of Engagement," joined the cast of "8 Simple Rules," co-wrote the screenplay and performed voiceovers on MTV's "Beavis and Butt-Head," and hosted "The Showbiz Show with David Spade." Later, he became the host of Comedy Central's "Lights out with David Spade." Over the years, Spade has entertained viewers with his self-deprecating humor and outrageous wit as the host of the Teen Choice Awards and the Spike Video Game Awards, and made guest appearances on sitcoms like "The Goldbergs" and reality TV programs such as "Bachelor in Paradise." Now, you can enjoy a no-holds-barred night of laughter with tickets to David Spade live on tour as he returns to the slapstick stand-up comedy that first made him famous.
David Spade Live
A natural prankster born on July 2, 1964, Arizona native David Spade started doing stand-up while he was young with his family and friends urging him onto the stages of bars, theaters and campuses across the country. He performed in Arizona State's long-running sketch comedy show multiple times, where he attended school as a fraternity member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He also got experience delivering laughs at Greasy Tony's Pizza during the Monday night comedy shows in the mid-'80s. In 1990, Spade took his comedy career to the next level when he joined the crew of "Saturday Night Live" -- first as a writer, then quickly making his way up to cast member. Shortly after his television debut on SNL, Rolling Stone dubbed him "Hot Stand-Up Comedian of the Year." Over the next five years, Spade would become a household favorite, well-known and loved for his comedic persona. He built his unique brand of sarcasm through skits like "Hollywood Minute" and "Total Bastard Airline" until eventually leaving the cast in 1996. His venture into film and television thereafter was immediately successful, earning himself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by 2003.
Not sure what was wrong with the sound system ,but it was not clear and had a bad echo
I bought 2 tickets for my husband as a Christmas present. I wasn’t sure if he would want to take one of his friends or me, but he picked me. I usually prefer rock and roll venues but have seen a couple of other comedians who were pretty funny. One of my sons warned me that I wasn’t going to like Spade. He didn’t really say why. Maybe because I’m old (almost 68)? Anyway, I thought that David Spade was hilarious and very entertaining! I guess I have the same sense of humor that he has. He was really funny. The 2 opening acts were very funny as well. Great show!
I was excited to see David do standup. But it was apparent from the opening act, that the sound engineer had not set things up correctly. If anyone spoke too loudly, the sound just turned into a garbled mess and the wife and everyone spent half the show trying to figure out what was being said. Nothing against David or his openers, (although his first one was pretty rough I think) it was just a really bad technical setup, which made for a bad show. It would be nice to see a make up show we can actually hear.
Spade wasn’t funny. Only on stage for an hour. Sound at civic center was terrible and most people complained that they couldn’t hear or understand anything being said.
David Spade himself was hilarious..from what I could hear. But the audio inside of the theatre (Mercer Theatre/Savannah) was the worst I had ever heard.
David is a comedic genius! His delivery is unmatched and his voice is so recognizable that it was a dream to listen to him and see him in person! Amazing!
We couldn't understand a word from the first comedian. The second was better. He spoke in a quiet voice, so that helped. We could only understand bits and pieces of David Spade. I've been to dozens of comedic acts at Johnny Mercer and the sound has never been such that comedians could not be understood. Don't let anyone tell you the problem is the theater itself, because that is not true. It was the sound technician or the sound equipment. Very disappointing.
david Spade did not disappoint!! Great show! Opening acts were excellent. Venue was amazing!
Really fun show. All 3 acts were good. Was better than I expected
We have seen Mr. Spade before and have enjoyed his performances. This Atlanta experience was lackluster at best and only lasted 40 min with him checking his watch at times. I expected more and better. Low energy and lack of enthusiasm.
First comic was great! It was very distracting how she kept referring to her notes on a stool. It wasn't just like looking at a key word, she was reading. Second Comic was ok. He needs to work on how the jokes land (a little more punch in his lines) David was great! Still has it! Venue is tough considering the number of seats in a row. Very hard to get in and/out if sitting in center stage. I know there is nothing that can be done about it other than to remodel but it's tough having to crawl over 20+ people.
Loved the two comics that opened for David spade. Spade was funny and enjoyable. Wish it was longer but it was a perfect date night.
The opening acts were great and my husband was so happy to see him perform! Amazing job to all comedians
David did a great job. The venue was great. The storytelling was amazing and entertainment.
David Spade was awesome - my friends and I literally had tears in our eyes - his delivery is perfection.
David Spade NEVER disappoints! My wife and I spent the evening at Atlanta Symphony Hall as Part 2 of our May 27th Anniversary. Part 1 was Heart performing at State Farm Arena May 10th. We have been fans since David Spade was on SNL and his hilarious skits with Chris Farley. We miss Chris but have continued to be David Spade fans throughout his career.
David Spade was so so so funny. Three days later we were still laughing at his jokes. His openers were also really great.
We have seen a lot of comedy acts but David Spade is top 5. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I laughed at 80 - 90% of show. Well done! We'll see you next time you come to Atlanta.
This show was outstanding! I left with sore checks from laughing so hard. It was even better than I expected!
Spade had 2 good openers, in other words....the 2 that performed before him., but his performance was lackluster.
