About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

This is a must see event. The music and singing was inspiring to get in the holiday spirit. All the music was performed to perfection and Dave Koz is a real showman. The venue screen the concert goers. Everyone was vaccinated and kept their masks on during the performance. The attendees were well dressed, Security was conducted in a professional manner and there was hand sanitizers throughout the venue. I highly recommend both the show and the venue, Broward performing arts center.

What a fabulous show - the combination of these 4 great saxophonists backed up by a great band was terrific. The song selections including original works by all four artists, in combination with the great selection of songs they covered, were a delight. I would go see this group again for sure.

I’ve seen Dave Koz 3 times and each time gets better. He chooses the right “Friends “ every outing. Never heard Kirk Whalum and Mindi Abair before but they were equally as entertaining.

  • Dave Koz and friends, Summer of Horns

by Monique on 9/21/21Palladium Times Square (formerly Playstation Theater) - New York CityRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic concert. Normally, you would not expect a saxaphone concert to be so exciting and "jump out of your seat" fun, but it was. Dave Koz and his group, Kirk, Mindy and Vincent were perfect. There was great choreography. There were safety protocols in place. The downside was the staff of Palladium Times Square was disorganized and lights were shining into eyes of audience. This was distracting.

  • Great!

It was truly one of my life time best LIVE. I do want them come back to NY soon.

Excellent concert. Truly gifted and professional musicians that appear to have great respect for each other’s gift. Rick Braun and Gerald Albright were as Brilliant as expected. Mr. Koz...well is Mr. Koz. That Aubrey Logan - What an absolute Gem, talented beyond comprehension and touched by God. Audio lower the volume...just a tad.

The show was amazing!! All the musicians did a great job! The horns sounded so good. I was really impressed with 22 year-old saxophonist, Bryan Thompson. Kenny Lattimore is always my favorite. He never disappoints. I wish he sang more of his beautiful songs. I got my money's worth plus more!
