About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

I didn't know that Brian Culbertson played the trombone - but wow, did he play it! Great show... some of it, I felt, was predictable... but it was still a great show. I would pay to see them again.

  • The Showman Comes to Town

by ROdell on 7/27/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Koz has always bee the Master Showman and a consummate musician and he has now found the perfect partner. This was a spectacular show that anyone will be telling there friends and co-workers about today. My date, Saturday night, is not a Jazz (or Smooth Jazz) fiend like myself but was on her feet half the show. It was a great show in a great venue. Keep my name on the list!

  • Side by Side, Dave& Brian was AWESOME!!!

  • Double Delight!

by AiviloQ on 7/27/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Two of today's hottest jazz musicians on one stage...at the same time?!?!? I did not think it was possible, yet Dave Koz and Brian "Colby" Culbertson pulled it off and put on a fantastic performance, like only they can. Not only did they join forces, but they combined their bands for a wicked evening of their hit songs from old and new albums, songs yet to be recorded in a studio, and a medley of tunes that combined their unique styles to make a new sound of jazz I would like to call Kozbertson Jazz. I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday by flying into Houston (where he lives) and tickets to this concert and I think he was more excited about seeing Dave and Brian than he was me, but after the dynamic duo tore up the House of Blues in Houston, I did not mind at all. It was an incredible concert. We are frequent concert attendees and this one definitely goes on the top of our list <3

Like always he was great! He came out on time and performed fantastic. Extremely well executed concert - Brian & Peabo teamed up with Koz for one of the best concerts. Very good choice of lineup. Jazz, R&B and all - joined him on last year's cruise and can't wait for the December concert. You are always guaranteed a tremendous time with Koz, he gives all the other artists the time to show off their talents and it looks like they all have fun doing it!

This was my third time seeing these two together and just like before they was absolutely incredible. I think Brian Culbertson is the most talented musician I have ever seen! Him and Dave Koz compliment each other very well on stage. I can't wait for the two to return to Dallas again! T-

My freinds and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire performance. Dave Koz has some exremely talented friends and we enjoyed seeing them perform together. This is a performance that everyone has to see. It was energetic, never a dull moment. The show brought the audience to their feet out of appreciation for the music and talent of the performers.

  • This concert was awesome!!!!

by houstonmom on 7/27/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

These guys were great. They were so glad to be there on stage entertaining us. They really fed off the crowd. They played for a long time and had so much fun. They were very energetic. The music was outstanding. This is the first concert in a long time that I felt like I got my money's worth. They played for over two hours. We did want more, they have so much material between them, and would have loved a longer encore.

  • Koz made his sax sing!

by DBWeber on 7/27/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Very well done. the two of them together was magic. Watching Brian play the piano was unbelievable, such talent. Koz was so into playing, the emotion was...WOW! The songs we each others but when played together, they truely worked off each other. can not wait until they come triugh town again.

  • Dave Koz

by rob40 on 7/27/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

Great show by Dave and Brian. It was a fantatstic show. My only complaint was that Dave never came out after the show to sign my CD cover I brought with me. I had his Greatest Hits Cover that I wanted him to sign. I was told by security that he would not be coming out that they had a VIP event and I had to leave. There were only 5 of us there that were not part of the VIP group. It was very disappointing to say the least.

  • Awesome show
