About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

by loisz on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The drive to Atlantic City was horrendous but after the evening with Dave Koz and Brian Culbertson it was worth every minute we spent in traffic. Amazing, incredible, fantastic and fabulous!!!!! We loved it and look forward to seeing them again.

The Atlantic City concert was amazing! Kave Koz, Brian Culbertson and Peebo Bryson put on a fantastic show. The back-up band was also amazing. The drummer was fantastic - he had so much energy!

DAVE AND BRIAN WERE FABULOUS. THE NON-STOP MUSIC JUST PUT YOU IN THE RIGHT GROOVE. THE MOOD LIGHTING WAS EXCELLENT, IT BROUGHT FUNK AND ROMANCE AT THE RIGHT MOMENTS. MY HUSBAND AND I THROUGHLY ENJOYED OURSELVES. PEABO, YOU WERE GREAT AS WELL YOU STILL HAVE THAT WONDERFUL VOICE. A NIGHT WELL SPENT. ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR A CHANCE TO ATTEND THE CRUISE. WAS TWO SEATS AWAY FROM LAST NIGHT'S LUCKY WINNER OF THE AIRLINE TICKETS. HOPE LUCK RINGS THROUGH FOR THE CRUISE. GOD BLESS!

This concert was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! The music was over the top.... Dave Koz is a great sax player. He gets the crowd involved in all the songs that they play. I have seen Dave before when he had his Xmas shows... Brian Culbertson is fantastic when he plays the piano ans trombone.. You can tell that each artist likes variety in their music. From ballads to all out jamming.... The lead guitar and bass players complimented each other while performing solo numbers... The drummer was great. He kept the bass drum bouncing and the beats were foot stomping.. The addition of Peabo Bryson was icing on the cake. His voice is strong and clear and I liked when he spoke to the audience.. They all really had a good time playing together....

  • Dave Koz and Brian Culbertson side by side

by zeeno98 on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Two fantastic smooth jazz artists backed up by an incredible band. Dave and Brian are also consummate performers and they make every show memorable. Even though I've seen them many times in concert, I still enjoy their music and style. My only negative comment was the "guest appearance" by Peabo Bryson that stretched into more time than I would have liked.

  • Jazz lover's don't miss this one!

by Chappie on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The show started 20 minutes late. But after Dave Koz took the stage that was all forgotten. Brian Culbertson was amazing! To say he is an outstanding keyboard player is definitely an understatement. Peabo Bryson was very, very good. I would recommend this show to anyone who likes music, not just jazz. From the sultry sax and the sexiest keyboard playing I've ever heard this show is for anyone.

  • Great!

by lydiamarita on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

was great as always, except for the seating how it was displayed in that Theater, the chairs were right behind one another all on a same level and if the person ifront of you was taller, that kind of took away your view of seeing anything. The only people that had a great view were the one directly upfront. Viewing the artists on stage, was not too great!

  • Koz and friends were incredible

by magzl on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

That was the best show I have been to in quite a while. Total entertaining and musically great!!! I hope that he will again come back to AC so I will be able to tell all my friends to join us.

  • Well Done!

by Shorelady on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the energy and warmth. Marvelous entertainers. THE FACILITY LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED! Old dreary show room with uncomfortable banquet chairs shoved too close together.

  • Spectacular music

Incredible concert! Just rocked from the first minute til the last. Kept us on our feet and lovin' every second.

This is the 1st time we were at the Venue and it was great. Dave Koz & Brian Culbertson were the best. We have seen them before many times at different places but the seating was comfortable the atmosphere was great. It was an awesome show.

  • What a great show!

by qumquat on 7/30/09Fraze Pavilion - KetteringRating: 5 out of 5

What a great group of artists with a special chemistry. This all made for an evening of wonderful entertainment. They made the instruments come to life in a way that's rarely seen anymore. Dave was gracious and humble.

  • Koz well you know

by omoe on 7/30/09House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far the best concert that I've attended this year. Dave and Brian are at the top of their game and they both know how to woo a crowd. I admire Dave for being the elder musician and masking his talents with Culbertson to create a dynamic show. They are not just musician. they are performers/crowd pleasers. I would pay greater than the seventy five dollars to see that show again soon

  • koz & brian were great

by windows on 7/30/09The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

koz & brian were great, lots of good vibs worked well together... PEABO BRYSON didn't live up to a good performance. he was very weak to much ego on stage..

  • What I expected

by SamthemanIam on 7/29/09The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

From start to finish the program was great music was awesome loved how the show went and could tell the artists were pooring their heart out to the audience. Alot of my favorites were played and I enjoyed it so much I will be there again. My only negative was the promoter waited too long to seat the audience people were still looking for seats during the opening performance. The personnel at the plaza continued to seat people well into the performance the whole thing did get distracting flashing lights going people yelling over the music.

  • Great Show

by JANMC on 7/29/09The Venue - HammondRating: 4 out of 5

Both were very entertaining. Dave Koz & Brian Culbertson have a great stage presence.
