About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

  • Koz and Culbertson Are Undeniably Unforgettable

by journeyluvsart on 8/11/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This is my third time seeing Dave Koz and the man gets better each and every time I see him. He was born for the stage with one of the most incredible stage presences I have ever witnessed. He and Brian Culbertson make a natural pair, as they seem to feed of each other's energy and both have plenty of energy to spare. This was definitely one of the most dynamic and captivating performances of any type I have experienced. I don't see how anyone could have left that room not being a huge fan of both Dave and Brian. That performance could have converted even the most sceptical of people!! I'd love to see this show again, it was that good!!

we are smooth jazz fans, the guitars and drums made it too much "rock 'n' roll" , not so much fun as Dave used to be.

SMOKIN !!! Dave Koz, Brian Culbertson, and Peabo Bryson were smokin' hot! Another great concert!

Dave Koz & Brain Culbertson were AWESOME! They played at the Atlantic City (NJ) Hilton on Saturday, 8/08. They each gave 110%. I don't like jazz, but I LOVE them. If any of you get a chance, I highly recommend for you to see each of them, either together or separately! Special guest was Pebo Brison. He also was GREAT! He sang several songs and for the finale, all 3 sang LEAN ON ME with the help of US, the audience! AN AWESOME EVENING!

  • Dave Koz was awesome!

The show was amazing. Dave Koz was great as usual. I have never seen Brian Culbertson before but he was great as well. They put on a great show. The only negatie was the show was too short. They only played for 1 1/2 hours. I was hoping it would be 2 hours.

  • Koz & Co: Totally incredible!

by MrsDove on 8/10/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Koz has to be the most generous musician on the planet. He just gives and gives and just when you think he's given it all, he gives s'more. I loved this show and can't wait to see Dave again when he tours with a Holiday show. The band was very tight, very together. Brian was stunningly fabulous on piano; and yes the trombone is very sexy! Peabo was a bonus; voice rich and sweet. (Note to the mixer: we thought the music was a bit too loud at times; unbalanced.)

My husband and I had a fabulous time...we wanted the evening to go on much longer. Dave, Brian and Peabo (sorry I do not have the correct spelling) plus all the musicians that played were so great. Thank you to all of them. AMAZING

by Syndy on 8/10/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

An outstanding show! Culbertson and Koz fed each other energy and played off each other. Virtuoso bass player Bill Sharp (the rubber hand man) was electric. Even Peabo Bryson got in the swing of things and the crowd was wildly entusiastic.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole show and was surprised that Peabo was added to the show. The flow of the show was very even and entertaining. Fantastic job all around.

We totally enjoyed every minute of the show. Would absolutely recommend all you jazz enthusiasts to see it. And even if you are not jazz fans, you would love the music and excitement generated by these two great artists (Dave Koz and Brian Culbertson).

  • CHECK OUT THE ENERGY!

by pamsterz on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was awesome ~ so much energy. If you've never been to a jazz concert and always wanted to go ~ this is the ticket you should be buying! My daughter has been listening to "The Dance" every night before she goes to bed for about the past 4 years. She came along to the show and loved it!!

  • One of the best jazz concerts I've been too!

by PattiAnne on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't realize until I arrived at the concert last night that David Koz was playing with Brian Coberton. They were great together. Two fo the finest jazz artists I've ever seen. I enjoyed this concert tremendously...would like to see them play together again. Would recommend this to anyone that enjoys jazz...totally awesome!

  • Koz, Culbertson & Bryson - AWESOME!!!

by AllThatJazzz on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The title here says it all. From the first note of the show to the last note of "Lean on Me" (a tribute to the late, great Wayman Tisdale) this show had everything one could possibly want in a concert. The musicianship was absolutely incredible and it was one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen (and I've seen more than a few.) Dave Koz is indisputably one of the world's greatest saxophonists, a polished entertainer and apparently, one great human being to boot (matter of importance not necessarily in that order.) Culbertson was equally impressive in every aspect, delivering fiery virtuosity on both the keys and the trombone. And Peabo Bryson is timeless (the only disappointment in the entire show was that he didn't have a bigger part, considering the number of hits he's packed into his career.) And the band? I don't know how they were still standing at the end - they must've gone backstage and began intravenous injections of Gatorade. The lights, the sound - EVERYTHING rocked and it was a perfect night of music and the crowd showed a healthy appreciation for what they witnessed. I think the powers-that-be need to seriously consider doing a live concert album/DVD before this tour ends so the rest of the world can see what an awesome show these two guys do "side by side." I don't recall how many dates remain on this tour but to those of you contemplating whether to go, I can EMPHATICALLY tell you that even you don't consider yourself a fan of contemporary jazz, you can't help but enjoy this show. 5 Stars (only because I can't give it 10!)

Dave anda Brian together are out of control. It was the best conccert we have been to this year. Just can't get done talking about how wonderful the show was not to mention they are our two favorite musicians.

  • Dave Koz and Friends

by Lisa47 on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome! So much energy from Dave, Brian and band members from begining to end. Love the way that Dave interacts with the audience and makes them feel like part of the show. Wish I could purchase a DVD of the concert to watch it over and over and over again! First time at this venue at the Hilton seats were not bad for all who attended ,not a bad seat in the house. Can't wait to see him in concert again.

  • Koz at his best!

by kubupix on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! A ten out of ten. I've been fortunate enough to see Koz seven times already. This was Koz at his best. The addition of Brian Culbertson was brilliant. The two had a special connection on stage. And a special bonus was the appearance of Peabo Bryson. If you have ever heard Peabo sing you need no more words. Peabo is Peabo! Very few male vocalists have that voice. Luther and Jeffrey Osborne are only a few that come to mind. Koz is the consumate professional. The production was incredible. This is a show not to be missed!

  • Dave is always great!! Brian was amazing!!!

by Latinoheat1970 on 8/9/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Dave a number of times and Dave is always a great headliner. But this was the first time I have seen Brian Culbertson and I have to say he was absolutely fantastic and the two of them together was awesome.
