About

Dave Chappelle Live Performance and Tour

Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY

"Funniest live performance I've witnessed to date. You will be quoting Chappelle after the show. I was laughing so hard that it started to hurt. Great show from start to finish."

"Dave...he is a comedic genius and one of the best ever. He was amazing and  I wished I could have gotten in line and gone to the second show!"

"He was hilarious. Talked about some of his history and was not afraid to get the audience involved. I had a great time."

    Great party

by Tee on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

This was one of the best events I’ve ever been to. The opening comedian were entertaining, the documentary sent me through a range of emotions. It really showed who Dave Chappelle is as a man. Dave knows who to throw a party. The entertainment after was FIRE.

by CottonCandySweet on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

I literally had a roller coaster of emotions…The documentary is a comedy masterpiece. And, may I add there’s never been a concert as lit as the one Dave gave us. You owe it to yourself to catch Dave in a city near you. We (Deep East Oakland) love you Dave!!!

    Good but late

by Tech on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

Was not expecting it to be 4 hours and to start at 8 cause i had to leave early to catch Bart and there was no info if Bart would extend its hours because of the show probably not. Other than that it was fun.

    Great show

by Matty on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

Great show. Didn’t know what to expect, but Jeff Ross killed, the movie was fantastic, and the music performances afterwards were awesome. The movie is both funny and a tear jerker. Grateful to have been able to see this movie and show.

    SF needs a belly laugh. . .

    by A. O. on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

looked forward to jokes cathartic humor, a few less decibles We missed the live comedy piece at the beginning because of the venue approach, parking and entry then an enormous line for one bartender. The wonderfully diverse SF audience came with some expectation that Dave would perform too. The film was contemplative, serious and so relevant to our group color experience and pandemic lens but really needed some jokes for cathartic relief.

    Very disappointing

by Calvin on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

I been a fan of face since 2005 when we were all in high school reliving out the scenes of the chapelle show. This guy can’t miss! He’s just that good and funny. But man, this was such a let down and I lost $400 that night. This is not a comedy show, it’s a screening of a documentary of Dave telling us how rough life was for him during the lockdowns. I’m sorry but Dave’s version of the lockdown is not the same as mine! Just not what I expected and a ton of people in the crowd felt the same way. People literally left 30 minutes into it and tried to get their money back but nothing could be done. I felt robbed, loving pay check to pay check, I saved $400 because I wanted to support Dave after the cancel culture was after him. I now wish I would have just saved my money and taken a day off from work and enjoy my family instead.

    Dave is the GOAT

by brwnbruja on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

This was a no phone experience and I loved that it made me have to live in the moment and enjoy myself. He brought out all of the Bay Area legends and it was epic. I will definitely be going to more Dave Chappelle experiences! He can have all my money!

    Memorable & Well Planned

by MichaelP303 on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

Loved this show, especially participation from local artists. Only complaint is the minimal staffing at concession stands. It seems obvious that Chase could double the staff and sell much more alcohol and food. Lines are too long.

    Just what I needed

by Nick on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

From the standup to the movie and then the performances the night was perfect!!! The Dave Chappell show was all that with a bag of chips supersized! I had no idea what to expect but it was beyond anything I was anticipating. Lit 🔥 lit 🔥 lit 🔥 11/10 Dave truly is the 🐐 and I’m glad I got to experience this night. I lost my father in October and having already lost my mother I was a recovering ❤️‍🩹 I needed this night to be something special to keep me focused and going. Dave if you read this (hahaha yeah right) let me just say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Worth every penny...

by Amber on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience. Dave Chappelle was hilarious, the documentary was really good, and we had a great time. It felt like we saw so many different comedians through watching the screening in addition to the other guests that were physically present. A really well done show, I'd go twice if I could. Really enjoyed the whole thing!

    Disappointed

by Rosemary on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

We were so looking forward to this show. I have to say though it was a bit frustrating to get a ton of emails before the show telling us all the rules and how early we had to be there etc. be there @5:30 show starts @7. They don’t bother saying the $58 parking pass you buy can’t be accessed untiL EXACTLY 5pm. So we had to find a spot to park for all of 10 min before let us in the garage. So we get in the venue around 6:30, and show doesn’t start until 8:30. Now we’ve left our homes around 4pm, it’s 4 1/2 hrs later and still nothing. Until the MC comes out and starts it. Turns out Dave isn’t showing up until 10pm. So here we are, work all day, excited for a fun night, follow all the rules, get there early and by the time anything happens we’re so tired it’s hard to enjoy. Then totally disappointed we wouldn’t even see Dave until 10pm. We have kids we have work the next day, so we left @9:30, disappointed. What a bummer. It was a great documentary etc, but I could’ve seen it from home and been ok.

    Best night ever

by YoLinzzzz on 11/7/21Chase Center - San Francisco

I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews—but that show was off the hook!!! Jeff Ross was hilarious roasting the audience, Luenell was funny as hell, and the documentary made me laugh and cry!! Wow. Dave came out and made us laugh even more, he is so real about everything. Then we got a concert that included Lil Jon, E-40, Too short and Guapale. Amazing night, I will never forget!
